  • OMG! Kauai is the most beautiful place I've ever seen! I just got back from an amazing trip with the help of kvr and I'm already dying to go back!

  • I hope for their sake that Hawaii doesn't end up looking like parts of Florida or other mainland tourist destinations. Beautiful secluded beaches turned into dumps with empty lotion bottles, snack wrappers, and cigarette butts everywhere.

  • ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!! Nothing beats the Hawaiian Islands and spending some time in the sun! I heard Kauai Vacation Rentals has great deals; I should really give them a try planning my next vacation!

  • what movies were filmed in kauai?

  • @manofmystery26 In Kauai's North Shore, you have the Honopu Valley where Jessica Lange ran into King Kong. When you visit this lush jungle, you almost expect Kong to come charging out again. Harrison Ford shot 6 DAYS AND 7 NIGHTS here. Kauai is the most amazing island, and they have such beautiful places to stay! Jayinla, I have seen the rentals at Kauai Vacation Rentals, and they are spectacular! Look at their Facebook page.

  • Kaua'i is the BEST! btw who is singing this version of Iz? I like it.

  • kauai is the best

  • sooomewheeeer i dont live it is better as the place i liiiiiiiiive and i dont live there where it better iiiis uhuhuhuh somewhere i dont live the sun is high and ooooohman i hate germany............

    awsome place.....

  • Beautiful. Aloha from Maui!

  • Ewa Beach ftw. Oahu

  • SONG NAME?

  • My cousin and i have traveled to Kona for the last three years. We spend aprox $3000 each. We respect and love th Island. We were considering Kauai this year. If that is the way you feel about us consider the had considered the key phrase here

  • you know what nlw12267 tourists have no respect. every where they go they tret the land like s#!t dont talk or try to lecture about things you dont know.

  • @subajon23 FYI, I was born and raised in Wailua Homesteads. I lived most of my life there and I go back once a year to visit my family who still lives there and in Anahola, so it aint like I don't know what I'm talking about. And I've seen Hawaiians treat the aina just as bad, if not worse, as tourists. There is good and bad in all walks of life, good tourists / bad tourists, good Hawaiians / bad Hawaiians. But to treat all tourists like crap just because of a few bad ones is retarded.

  • @subajon23 The Aloha Spirit means to be respectful and inclusive, not hateful and exclusive. Treating an entire group of people with disdain because you don't like the way some of them may act is borderline racist.

  • @subajon23 Kauai is a beautiful place and I always recommend going there to everyone I meet on my trips throughout the world. It's a very special place to me and I want to share its beauty and its people with anyone I can so that they can experience the same feelings that I've been lucky enough to feel for most of my life. Kauai is too special not to be shared.

  • To all the numbnuts telling the tourists to go home, who the hell are you? Just because you were born there or have Hawaiian blood, you feel you own all of Hawaii? Hawaii is God's creation and should be shared with all of His children. You should just be greatful to have been born in such a beautiful place. If you treat tourists like crap just because they weren't born there, then you're no different than skin heads and the klan in the south who treat people of color like crap. Bunch of racists!

  • @nlw12267 Why do people feel the need to put God in everything just to prove a point? Hawaii is beautiful, I agree with you on that...but religion is just not necessary, not all people share those beliefs. Just saying...peace

    (^-^)v

  • I CANT WAIT TO MOVE THERE AND BUILD A FACTORY!

  • @featheredmusic Yeah, no you're totally helping. Thanks. :P

  • eh all you lolos shaddap arredy jess watch da video

  • im getting the chills from this video.. hawaii is really beautifull and i hope that people (especially tourists) leave the islands alone and dont ruin it by stupid political issues and the need to have a large economic market... hawaii should stay the way it is because the power is in its beauty of nature... absolutely gorgeous.

  • @OnlyMeAndFlee Well Tourism is the biggest economic income for Hawaii, it lets the locals have what a modern civilization can provide like medication and electricity. People complain but the situation could be much worse without tourism.

  • KAUAIIANZ

  • Amazing palm trees, pineapples, huladance, coconuts, flower necklace, tropical awesome weather, almost no crime, number 1. Rated beaches by the US, beautiful volcanos. That's Hawaii :)

  • just came bacj 2day from kauai. :( so sad

  • I went on vacation here last year it was the fucking best

  • Thank you for such a Beautiul video!

  • @genaratrix I have been to a few resorts but the places on Kauai are the most lovely I have ever seen. There was a place I would devel if I ever get back. ON a trip[ the SOuth Pacific beach, take a right over the mountains and you wil find the most lovely beach with fresh water running into it. There is an "A" frame house located there that would be perfect. If God could only allow mw that location. My family has gone, no one wishes me happiness but to stay there would be the ultimate.

  • Beautiful....i was born and raised there...miss my island Kauai..and the mountains...wow kokee..my favorite place to ever be...brings back memories..Aloha to all the locals on the Island...Mahalo nui loa...

  • Agreed, best Island!

  • The best place in the world...

  • my family has lived on Oahu and the Big Island for over 80 years.

  • Great vid and perfect music choice

  • to those who say they wish they were back home to Kauai , why did you leave to begin with and what would be different if you went back? I see that comment a lot and I know some are refering to just vacationing. I understand it is very expensive to live there and I haven't heard of the employment problems. I would think the resorts would be hiring all the time.

  • @34sunbun I tried to live in Kauai twice, but the only way to make it work economically, is to own a small business. The first went kaput due to 9/11, the second went down because my business partner walked away. But never fear, I am starting another business that is "portable" and will be back living on my beloved Kauai by the end of the year. I love it that much.

  • Now I"m really home sick...

Oh sweet Kauai, truely heaven on earth...

& with Bro IZ singing, ah it's da best...

    (IZ R.I.P.)...

  • omg now i want to go back :(

kauai made me really appreciate nature, its really beautiful

  • lol, lilo and stitch live ther

  • @Topunga81.... yeah i get you :P i feel the same .... trying to convince my fam to move there :P

  • weird, feel connected to Hawaii yet never been there?

  • you feel the power of nature

  • Wow something about that just makes me feel like i found my home , going to move there this coming year

  • hahaha!! kauai is the least developed out of the 8 islands (idk bout ni'ihau), its really beautiful.

  • Well that's the beauty of it,,,,is just pure nature.

Why would like a big developed city? That kills the nature and beauty of an island.

  • well a lot of it invasive plants and animals that are killing the native plants and animals. and thats honolulu for u big developed city. i live just out side of honolulu and can barly see the ocean thou all the buildings

  • Az álmom, hogy itt éljek...

  • i totally wana go to hawaii..

  • me to !!

  • 2:25 ahhh so beautiful, i will be living in hawaii when i am older

  • lived there only for 6 months...i wanna go back

  • RAIUL pe pamant

  • only 3 years then i have my studie done and enough monny to stay there for a year with a friend of mine, cant wait !!

  • I wanna move to Hawaii

  • So beautiful !

  • where do they point there waste?

  • nowdays they ship it to cali

  • Love Kauai. Live on Oahu, travel there twice a year for golf.

  • The Dutch MSN website said that it rained 360 days a year in Kauai but is it true? The website is full of crap.

  • i do belive that ther is a place there that is considered the wetest place on earth and ive ben ther a few times and i would belive it

  • @13Allyn

    It's called the ocean.

  • My good friends are in the process of moving to Kauai. I travel to Hawaii alot, but only to Oahu because it has alot more thngs to do. It has the botanical gardens I like to see and just as nice beaches as any of the islands. However one day I'll check out Kauai too. I'll be back on Oahu next weekend.

  • i dont even want to watch this. i dont want to see these beautiful sights until i go there myself on spiritual quest. wordless is all this

  • stubborn settlers refuse to acknowledge the foundations of their "paradise". conquest and dispossession of the original families. donʻt fool yourselves into identifying Hawaiian sentiments as mere racism. 5th generation...thats a good one.

  • cjc3usa1...5th generation? What does that mean? Any Hawaiian is probably in the range of 600th generation. 5th generation? give me a break. 5th generation...you funny.

  • Ey bodah2kea.....i live on maui and im just sayin do u know where wed be without tourism? Nowhere so fuck off and get out the islands...they still as beautiful as they used to be

  • my friend lives there! :)

  • Song name?

  • i know what you mean,,,i live in hanalie,,5th generation,,,,

  • @cjc3usa1 o ya you live kaua'i huh...how come you no can spell Hanalei? ...lol. north shore 4 life....

  • @cjc3usa1 Either you're a true Hawaiian who can't spell, or you're a fake.

  • @cjc3usa1 Sorry to inform you but I am About 100th generation California Miwok and we are not gonna get anything back....Neither are you. Reality have a bite.

  • @cjc3usa1 you spelle hanalei wrong if thats what you were trying to spell

  • @cjc3usa1 you spelled hanalei wrong if thats what you were trying to spell

  • @cjc3usa1 Hanalei is the most beautiful place in all of Kauai. I also like how the north shore reminds me of how life use to be. When people would stop and wave and say hello. I respect the locals, and I respect the simplicity of life on the island. I too want it to be kept sacred. That is what brings me back to Kauai. I feel like its part of my family. I never feel this way about where I live on the mainland when I come home, but every year, I always come back to my first love...Kauai

  • @cjc3usa1 LUCKY! You are extremely fortunate to live in Hanalie... heaven on earth!

I left my heart on the N. shore of Kauai, around Ka'e Beach :(

  • I respect the land, love the islands, and I know that just because my family has been in Hawai'i for many decades it doesn't make me "Hawai'ian." But as a Hawai'ian you above all should know that more likely than not YOU are not full blood Hawai'ian (very few are, almost all here are mixtures), and that Hawai'ian land was purchased by the U.S., no matter how unfair or deceitful it was to begin with. Your ancestors "stole" the land too, unless you're 100% from original native lines........

  • Even the Hawaiians came from some where else when they first settled there. I believe they came from the more southern Polynesian Islands.

  • Purchased? Guy it was annexed. A monarchy, not some tribes, where are you getting this information from?

  • @spermie19 u guys hate all americans?im ready to spend all my money on a 1 way ticket to hawaii even though ill prolly wind up livin on the beach gettn attacked by those invisible bugs and sugar spiders but it be wack gettn beat up by you guys even tho im against the same people i still think it wud be worth it man the land seems amazing rare flowers and bugs waterfalls volcanoes ocean

  • @lezsmokehaze420

They hate America, but they love Cable TV and welfare checks. Whatever, double standard.

  • @spermie19 you dont know what your talking about....you got it all wrong...ived lived there for over 60 years.im 100% hawaiian....i know it was illegally occupied by the United States....you idiot....f..u

  • @spermie19 shut the fuk up mutha fucker he's just showin us what its like in hawaii fool so shut tha fuk up

  • @spermie19 Please let everyone know the land you own on Kauai and we won't step on your land. I agree that Kauai has been turning way too commerical, and that is sad, but it's hard when you just come for vacation and the locals treat you like crap. Just sayin'.

  • @spermie19 well without United States, hawaii would be a 3rd world country with no running electricity or medication occupied by another country. I think u have it pretty good with US constitution and protected rights.

    it could be MUCH worse.

  • @spermie19 well without United States, hawaii would be a 3rd world country with no running electricity or medication occupied by another country. I think u have it pretty good with US constitution and protected rights.

it could be MUCH worse. Example like Haiti.

  • the Price?...usually a few bulldozed Hawaiian graves, thousands of gallons of fresh water (that should be kept by the rivers that once carried them) to flush foreigners turds down the pipes, and a few thousand incarcerated or homeless Hawaiians.

  • Tourists are just uninvited destructive colonial pests who believe they are entitled to lands, souls and friendly smiles. Please...do us all a favor and stay home.

  • i went there for 11 days like 22 days ago

  • @bodah2kea Now THAT is what I call the spirit of aloha!

  • Hawaii. The most beautiful place on earth. The most fun place on earth. And most of all, the most relaxing place on earth. The ocean blue, the surfing, the amazing sky, the friendly faces. Hawaii, god's gift to us.

  • nice!

  • Im goin in december ive been there 6 times i love it...best place on earth!

  • Amen.

  • im going to kauai in 13 days im so freakin excited its gunna be my first airplane ride , my first time in hawaii and the most exciting 11 days of my life(i cant wait)im so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • we are just as exicted to ruin your trip!!!!! yay

  • jerk , im already back from hawaii

  • i live there you dope,,5th generation

  • @cjc3usa1 Is someone supposed to give a fuck?

    I am better than you.

  • Oh please. Go back to the South Pacific. Your nothing but invaders yourselves.

  • @noahshonor History my friend, learn some. Hawaii was discovered by the Polynesians, who are now known as Hawaiians. How can we invade an uninhibited island? Unless we invaded the wildlife. But our Queen was forced into signing Hawaii over to the United States. Luckily she did it with her people in mind because we did not have the military force that the US had. So instead of a slaughter and en slavery of our people she signed it over. But it's ok keep ruining Hawaii Mr. white man.

  • Thanks for creating this video...I lived in Hawaii for four years and two years on Kauai....it is always in my heart.

  • ...Thanks Im moving to hawaii and never speaking to my parents again... already bought a ticket

  • are you moving to kauai?

  • yeah kaua'i mo bettah but wait tell the haole come..

  • why is it going to disappear ?

  • because theres a thing called a hot spot, its basically lava pushing up to the surface thats under the water. As it cools it creates a type of land. And as the plates shift the land moves away from the hotspot and eventually the land breaks off and slips into the oceans making the islands smaller and they will go under sea level. if u look at a map of terrain near hawaii u will see under water there are a bunch of islands underwater. Those would be "old Hawaii's" maesage me if u have ?'s

  • u no wat sucks the kawaiian islands we have now are going to disapear eventually....there will be new ones but still...i dnt think it'll be the same lol

  • Spener123 You are right but DEFINITELY not in our life time more like 6,000 years is when they will disappear.

  • lol i used to live there when i was a kid...i still visit honlulu and kaui but kaui is too epic

  • Beautiful !!!!!!!!

  • I prefer Lanai.

  • Then you are an idiot who needs a Four Seasons hotel.

  • Did you really, really, really feel that you absolutely had to make that comment? You feel better now? I hope so.

  • Yeah...well Kauai is beautiful.....but for how long....?

I was there in February and was very upset by all the developments, hotels and bloody golf courses...!!! no more OTHERWISE YOU WILL RUIN THE ISLAND!!!...STOP BUILDING!!...

  • after seeing this It just makes want to leave Az and live there haha at least they have beaches.

  • yah i from hawaii but ive been in the az for 2 years for school man that place sucks the people are not a nice and i my house got broken into in tucson but i think if you move to hawaii and do the things i do and see the water falls behind my house you might not want to leave well hope to see you there one day ....aloha and have an awsome day

  • i was there last last summer!!! breathtaking!!

  • im going there this summer.....god i cant wait

  • ITS AMAZINGG i've been there like 6 times

  • I wanna go there I'm sick of new york all polluted ugh......someday...... how much does it cost to rent a apartment if anyone knows?

  • Hear that bro! As much as i love my NYC kauai looks just perfect.

And im sure apartments wouldnt be anywhere near what we pay here. Thank god.

  • actually, the apartment/houses prices are comparable to NYC rents (think brooklyn or queens). (i live in nyc and my dad lives in kauai).

and jobs are bit harder to come by and pay a bit less.....

  • I have been to Kauai before and I can't wait to go back! I have also been to Maui which is as beautiful, but I felt most at home on Kauai. I really want to take my husband someday because he has never been to any of the islands.

  • everybody want go to hawaii its just butiful island.......but if im gona be adult im go there but you never now what is gona hapent.....I want stay there for ever......whit my family.....LOVE YA HAWAIIIII.....

  • I love Kauai,I will come someday with my sweety :-)

  • I can take you right now if you want,np :-)

Just wait until I am 18...I can't travel now with my poor 17 :D

Beautiful Kauai...Somewhere over the rainbow such a great song

  • why I'm not there??

  • We thought your clip was wonderful as it was a mix of videos and stills all showing the beauty of KAUAI were off to KAUAI next year as we usually go to Hilo but were going to broaden our horizons and by your clip wev'e made the right choice thanx

  • ive been to Kauai, Maui, and oahu. im not sure if thats the correct spelling. but so far kauai is the most beautiful. maui and oahu have more to do tho.

  • Some times "less" is "more!" You just have to look a little deeper!

  • i love kauai, i was here not too long ago:)

  • Na Mele o Kaua'i I have watched the changes over the years. When I first came to Kauai Oahu was the place and Maui was being discovered! There was one stop light on the island, the Kauai Surf Hotel was the tallest building, the Kuhio Hiway was a 1 1/2 lane road to the N. Shore. There was no Princeville Resort, you could park anywhere at Ke'e and hike the Kalalau without a permit. The "slippery slides were yours to use if you knew where they were. I too am sad and hope that the development stops!

  • Aloha! Howzit! I was also very fortunate to be on Kauai in the late 60's...paradise supreme! Lived in Kalalau, enjoyed every hole in the dirt road out to Hanalei and Haena. Ching Young's store was 'civilization' ;)

I now hear sad sad stories...I guess every place must change with time.

  • its a pity: the clip is well done - but why do you take Cliff Richard as the singer of this awesome song?? - Israel Kamakawiwo'ole is the writer composer and singer of "

  • Beautiful rainbows, great voice, This makes my heart sing! Thanks Cliff Richards!

  • Can't wait to go back...miss kauai soooo much. going for 3 weeks in may-june 08....doing the kalalau trail and hope to see pierce brosnan again....sweet...

  • Can anybody tell me who the artist is performing this song? Thanks

  • Cliff Richards.

  • I miss it too man :-(

my childhood was spent here, I love it. I cry from time to time, I want to go back to bad.

  • I LOVE this version of "Somewhere over the Rainbow." Everyone uses IZ, which is beautiful, but this is a refreshing change. Scenery in the video is beautiful too. I miss Kauai...

  • Thanks for sharing this! I love this version of Over the Rainbow - a nice change from IZ. IZ is beautiful, but this version is just a bit more lively.

  • I'm hoping the locals get their act together and stand up to the land grab going on right now. I have family in Kapaa and the "Discover Kauai" video pissed me off when I saw that the "veiw" from the shopping center is now blocked by the construction. Gotta kick those sonsofbitches out of office guys.

  • It's the best Island. But can it stay that way? The land grabbing developers and greedy real estate tycoons are at work creating another Honolulu on Kauai. See "Discover kauai" on youtube. Rainbows every day, everywhere, great people, gorgeous scenery.

Watch "Discover kauai" you will laugh, cry, and maybe somehow get out the word that Kauai is in danger of overdevelopment.

  • yeah it's the best island

  • i liked your video...but you lost me with that rendition of somewhere over the rainbow...no offence but you should have used the Brudda IZ version

  • actually I lived on that tiny island of Kauai for nine years and saw thousands of rainbows so I think the "over the rainbow" is appropriate. I never heard the other version.
