Drivel. The US army is fighting guys with AK 47 and no high tech weapons, shooting fish in a barrel. The wars in Afghanistan and Iraq were 100% about making money for arms companies and other such companies. Haliburton in particular. There is no heroism in Afghanistan just stupidity and guys making money.

I have a son who is 25 years old and his best friend is a Marine. Every day I passed his house, I had to stop and check in. I cried knowing that my son could be him and the heartache his must must go through every day wondering if she would see him again.

Every time I see someone in uniform it brings tears to my eyes & I have to thank them for my freedom and their sacrifices. My kids get embarrassed but it is important that know that they are appreciated and that what they do matters to me.

Obama wants to bring the soldiers home from however, I heard an interview by one of his members who says that whenever the President tries to deliver a plan to bring the soldiers home, Bush's former people (Cheney's cronies) opposes his plans at every turn. They want to remain there in Iran, Pakastan, & Afghanistan indefinately. Bush made those seats difficult to uproot. This makes Obama's job difficult. He not only inherited challenging times but also 'violent jerks' who love war.

I find it wrong that Congress is willing to commit our military(brothers,sisters,sons­, daughters, fathers,mothers, husbands and wives) to conflicts around the world for years at a time with some of the most heinous destruction imaginable but will not commit THEIR name to signing a Formal Declaration of War as directed by the Constitution. A Formal Declaration of War has not been signed since WW2. Congress has forsaken their duty and given the power of war decision to the President and the UN.

A lot of young join the military because 1) they lack a strong father model 2) need money (usually for school) 3) have a romanticized vision of being called a hero, a fighter, a warrior 3) actually believe that their country is in the right to invade and occupy sovereign nations 4) have no real sense of Self 5) think there is honor in fighting, without questioning why they should murder.
