USA was NEVER supposed to be a Fascist or Totalitarian nation, a Corptocracy, a Communist nation or a Runaway Capitalism where Greed & Deception Rules above all. USA's a Constitutional Republic, a Social Democratic Republic, our Reps were chosen to WORK FOR us (their Constituents) NOT the lobbyists, neocons, zionists, israel, military industrial complex, nwo, federal reserve, corporations & special interests that want to put millions in politician's bank accounts.
Nader was polling at 5% going into the '00 election. Everyone knew Gore & Bush were neck & neck. Nader could have dropped out of the race & given the election to Gore -- about 80% of Nader supporters supported Gore over Bush. But, he didn't. He doesn't give a shit about anything except self aggrandizement. Nader is a POS
So there is no room for third parties? Only two opinions? Only white and black, no grey or green?
You must not understand that Nader doesn't like Democrats.
It's true that Gore likely would've won if Nader dropped out. But it's also very likely that Gore would've won if Bush dropped out. It's also very likely that Nader would've won if Gore dropped out.
My point is that parties are sufficiently different from each other that one party campaigning for another is, in itself, a contradiction.
I agree, a third party system is valuable. I would even support third party candidates. That is a righteous end. But, Nader put his righteousness and glory above the good of the country.
If you hadn't noticed, we just went through one of the most destructive decades in history. Nader could have prevented it; Nader is a POS for putting himself above the country.
You can't possibly blame Nader for Bush. Blame Bush for Bush. Blame Bush voters for Bush. Blame Cheney and Rove and Gonzales for Bush. Heck, its even easier to blame Gore for Bush than to blame Nader for Bush -- Gore lost his own home state.
The Democrats claimed that he was too insignificant in the election to participate in the 2000 presidential debates. After they lost, they claimed that he was too significant.
Anyway, Gore won Florida; he had more votes than Bush, but they weren't counted.

Everyone knew, including Nader, how close the election 2000 election was going to be. Nader also knew he was going to pull a relatively large percentage.
Instead of conceding to pass a good majority (2/3 Nader supporters were Gore supporters second) of his votes to Gore he kept running. What happened? Bush won by the margin of error.
Bury your head in the sand all you want but the fact is Nader is a cause for G W Bush. Screw Nader; Screw every Nader supporter
You say that he pulled a relatively large percentage (of the votes I suppose). If you look at the votes in Florida in 2000 essentially any of the 3rd party candidates had the votes that could have swayed it towards Gore, not just Nader. This demonstrates how Nader is a scapegoat. I don't understand how people can blame someone else for another person failing. That is like a sports team blaming its fans for its loss because they didn't cheer enough... no I believe it was the team failing
that caused the team to lose. Gore lost not because of Nader or a 3rd party candidate but because of:
1. his campaign, maybe he lost because he didn't do a could job. You get a bad grade on a test because of your performance not because your room mate was watching tv.
2. corruption, there was blatant corruption in this case that was disregarded and if taken into consideration could have helped Gore... like the disenfranchised African American vote.
To just blame someone else for Gore's failure is childish and illogical. Honestly, if there was a good candidate they would get the votes of the people voting for Nader. It has been shown that many of Nader's supporters are actually people who wouldn't be voting at all but vote because they believe in Nader's policies... they wouldn't have voted for Gore or Bush.

Nader doesn't understand the free market and that's a shame because regulation and lack of oversight is what got us into this mess in the first place.
well i stood my ground as the police ordered me to move to the corner bought tape and measured 100' mark. i stood my ground as the 6 boys standing at the corner, cornered me ,with diry looks, talks of eggs and 3 hours later loud music! they asked me how much i was getting paid i said :labor of love, ever heard of that? i stood my ground for the 4th time mr nader. how do i get you into the office? odd as it is, we lost the elections to white guilt! we need a new america for you

Do not run again for President, just continue working for America in other ways and maybe get a smaller office. You nearly killed us by being the wedge that Bush leaned through.
Wrong..... the people of America that voted for Bush messed up this country...not Nader. Why d you blame the wrong people for what happened. The moron people voted Bush in and Bush along with teh corporate controlled Democrats who did nothing...let it keep going. Point the finger at the real spoilers of this country and stop letting Fox and CNN tell you who the spoilers are. God man...come on...wake up!

It was 500 votes difference, Nader was the wedge that stole from Gore dude. Sorry, but he pretty much stole the election from Gore. At least this time he was not an influence since people are motivated as all hell now.
Get your facts straight before posting next time. There were at least six 3rd party candidates that had more votes in Florida than that 500 vote difference you speak of. Don't use Nader as a scapegoat for Gore's failure.
Challenge your Democrat to be a better candidate. If your Democrat meets your challenge, good. If not, you know who your Democrat is and where he or she stands. And in that case you should support third-party people like Nader to put pressure on your Democrat. Why should YOU be the one to cave?
What would it take to open the debates and mandate instant run-off elections? Without debate participation, 3rd parties are toast. Without instant run-off elections voters fear 2 party spoilage. Entrenched political and corporate power does not benefit from such enhancements and would only lose the duopolistic power they have so carefully engineered by forming the bi-partisan CPD corporation, with its 15% polling requirement and by inciting fear with their spoiler accusations in '00.
God bless Ralph Nader for running this year. I voted knowing that Nader stands for everything I believe in. Neither McCain or Obama have what Nader has...and that is the courage to stand up for US.
bro, i only heard of that "trow your vote " here in the USA
men is very disappointing to hear it that much ..i guess education in the usa really is a big issue
i was going against the obama--mc cain monopoly since the beginning and a lot of people really look at me like i was the weirdest thing in hearth, i guess this country is not the Imagen it reflect at the world not even in such a basic matter
i feel justifed more then ever that i voted for nader . people can say that nader was a thrown away vote, but to me it wasnt , cause i know im not alone in voting for him.
Don't worry about the "thrown away vote" people... They're confused between civic duties and horse races. They have, out of laziness or ignorance, denied themselves the rights of a democracy.
Congrats on voting for Nader. I got 3 people to vote for him myself :)
i voted for Ralph Nader and everyone keeps telling me i threw my vote away. but then most of them aren't even jazzed about mccain or obama, they just "voted for the lesser of 2 evils." the way i see it, I'm one of the only people who didn't throw their vote away. i wish more people would see it that way so that 3rd party could actually have a chance.
Some Americans have made their biggest mistakes in the Human History.
