  • instrumental is dope

  • This is the same band that used to play quality black metal, right? If so, what the hell is this? Or is there an electronica group with the same name?

  • @kingwilly34

This is the black metal band, that you're talking about. They changed their sound in 1998 or so.

  • @kingwilly34 Years of hiding in frostbitten pine forests on mountains sides with months of darkness at a time can do incredible things to a mans taste in music.

  • Impressive nocturnal blackmetal art, although some riffs/arrangements/atmosphere reminds me early P.Floyd,Genesis.

  • what are the instruments used in making this???

  • that was pretty cool actually XD

  • Ghostly and cute... perfect!

  • It hit me at 0:01

  • Ulver.. the Opeth of black metal

  • @asZskicker666 Perfect comparison!

  • I was surprised when I heard Ulver's earlier stuff after taking an immediate liking to them, and until yesterday I hated black metal. Now I have a deep appreciation for it, and I also love the music they're making now. There's just no room for disappointment.

  • @DinoSwede I guess it goes to show that there can be beauty in all types of music. Bergtatt was amazing, and this is very great as well.

  • Wolves evolve

  • Does anyone else know music similiar to this? Ambient that still has vocals is what I'm looking for.

  • @calastiur Try this: Craig Armstrong - Let's go out tonight

  • very deep, pleasure to listen to. I'll definitely be checking these guys out

  • Im just listening to this for 3 weeks now. Every day at least 20 times...

  • when i listen to this, I just want to cry

  • the irony of the top comment being about disliking top comments

  • Astrofaes - Soul of the Black Forest With Lyrics

  • This group does incredible music & video, very progressive & experimental, industrial, generally extremely gorgeous singing & sound, nearly orchestral at times. I love all their work & the vocals in this one are sublime.

  • some great tracks in this album but the whole album let me down a bit.

  • FERBAINNA TOILL!

  • biokid23 , comment theft for thumbs up .... sad

  • @JohnLeigue two years ago there wasn't a 'top comments' feature. I kind-of miss that, comments were more of discussions and thoughts about the video. it wasn't "thumbs up if you like this" or anything like that.

  • @JoeAuriun yeah i know what you mean. now we're forced to read comments that we don't really want to read. Like yours..

  • @JoeAuriun

talks about disdain towards top comments

    GETS TOP COMMENT

  • @JoeAuriun kind of ironic you got the top comment! lol

  • @JoeAuriun And when people do have discussions it's only about the top comment at the time.

  • Comment removed

  • @JoeAuriun i hear that

  • the piano in this song gave me goosebumps. incredible

  • Garm is absolutely a genius of sound.

  • Haunting piano... amazing

  • semplicemente un capolavoro come tutti i loro album!

  • Hathor...

  • album cover is so un-Norwegian haha is quite nice though

  • Wtf?... It's.... changing!!

  • I can't tell if the album cover is a picture or painting (The original thing, obviously this one is a picture since its on the web lol)

  • @skatecam1248 The front photo is taken from the 1978 October issue of Natural History Magazine. So it's probably a photo. I'm gonna have to agree that it's badass too.

  • @skatecam1248 it's a picture you can totally tell by the look of it a painting wouldn't look like that if it was a painting it would have a smudge look to it

  • theres something peacefully dark about this song.

  • This entire album is beautiful to me.

  • nice!

  • the piano at 1:36 is incredible

  • I'll never understand. I look up a lot of music on youtube, and when I don't like something I move on. Why be a fucking dickhead and write some trolly comment. Incidentally, yes I don't understand how you could listen the whole way through this track and call it senseless noise. Twat.

  • @Garpalt I doubt you listened past the first 45 seconds there man. They're some great piano and vocal parts a little later in the song

  • @Garpalt cannot believe how wrong you are, this is some of the most inspired music ever created

  • @Garpalt who says music has to be have originality, life and talent? if what bothers you is grim, plain, monotonous, miserable or melancholic, so is your music. I think that this is an inspired piece of art. Well, that's my opinion at least

  • @TheMaggieboo Are you saying that monotonous and melancholic music cant be original? And that it have no feeling and the ones who make it have no talent?

I dont really get what you said there. Black metal is not technical hard, and is pretty repetive, but you have to be talented and have an ear for music, otherwise you will just end up as another Darkthrone clone.

  • @Garpalt is music really that powerless to die just because of a song? this one is great IMO

  • @Garpalt Quite the opposite. This music a tale of life, it IS life, and to say it's not creative is just ignorant. Even if you're used to different kinds of music it's not difficult to hear the variety and soul within these 4,5 minutes. What the radio brings us, that you may call bland and uncreative.

  • It's just the true masterpiece..

  • forstad du norsk?

  • @fightingnate

Grammar is correct, but if you're asking "Do you understand norwegian", it's supposed to be "Forstår du norsk" ;)

Forstår is pretty much pronounced Forstaar. That's the closest I can explain it. :P

  • oh my fucking god @ 1:39 onwards it hit me that this is the most moving thing ive heard in awhile

  • this is so sick

  • The album cover have a lot of mysticism

  • Why Ulver? Where does thse come from?

  • @MinniHowl what do you mean why ? if you mean the name it means Wolves in Norwegian and if you mean the origin its obv Norway... And as far as i can say if you look back to their first albums the name is coming from Folklore myths of scandinavia. Really good stuff.

  • @faustios Yeah, i know it means wolves, I live in norway, but I was jsut wodering if it was a norwegian band and wher they got their name from :P and U did answer that so thank you ;D

  • @MinniHowl versegot min kompis.

  • @faustios Hehe ^^ takker og takker ;D U'r from norway?

  • @MinniHowl nei jeg er fra Hellas ( Greece ) og du ?

  • @faustios Noway of course xD but U do write norwegian :P

  • @MinniHowl i love norway i have been there 2 times so far , so im trying to learn the language but for us its hard. snakkes.

  • @faustios Cool, I'd like to go to grease as well.. Haven't been there yet. I bet it is hard! But good luck, and if ou need any help you can ask me =)

  • @MinniHowl thnx alot.

  • Wolves evolve...

  • @christalmann LOL

  • I just bought this album and it's soooooo haunting and beautiful.

  • Black metal to this... that's true musicianship to be able to pull that off! This is sublime!!

  • holy fuck, this is one of the creepiest album covers ive ever seen in my life, very well done. Great music too.

  • thrills

  • I am going to third! it really is BADASS

  • Fra gull til gråstein. våkn opp

  • che disco...

  • yes the cover is very nice, and the music is relaxing

  • N o offense to anyone... But I miss their old stuff. Nattens Madrigal and all that.

  • makes me think of all the people that believed in and died for Religions. And to think it was all meaningless. Shadows... Shadows... Of the dead... In the silence... SILENCE!!!

  • This song is beautiful

  • When is Ulver's next album?

    This one is just beautiful.

  • @ballsthatclank heard they have an album of covers called "Psyche" coming out 2010

  • @ballsthatclank heard they have an album of covers coming out this year called "Psyche" but haven't seen it yet!

  • Ulver has some of the best transitions i've ever heard.

  • In Until The Light Take Us when when Fenriz is talking about modern art he said the conservatives like : "As we say in norway..the moose in the sunset...sort of painting"...and this song happens to be in the soundtrack.

  • @SemiFilmProductions I was not aware that Until The Light Takes Us has been released or is available period. Could you please tell me where or how to find a copy?

  • @HvitOrm Oh, I just saw it, and it's so amazing. It was posted here for a while then the day after I watched it it was taken off. It was so incredible to finally see it. I can't wait to get a copy.(Fenriz is a dream to me, in that film!) I saw a download for sale on Youtube a few days ago. I am curious to, though. Not sure it is easy to find.

  • Good album, several high quality tracks.

  • Yes, I agree, I like the album cover quite a lot. I actually use it as my avatar in several forums I frequent. I watch it, and then listen to this album, and I feel like going tom some distant land ton contemplate the world around me.

  • dont see you doing anything?

  • lets see how many good comment (thumbs up ) this comment gets? i bet you will all like reply and mark as spam and thumbs down but be cool and thumbs me up.

  • lmao is that how you try to build up self esteem?

  • Can someone please upload the song Let the children go album version,i would very much appreciate it.

  • Ulver opens my mind to appreciate music more. I can see it possibly does this to people and more.

  • This album is incredible, never get tired of it, and anyone can appreciate it.

  • ulver is one of the best bands out there...they evolved...black ambient music is what this is...

  • Year after year Ulver is more and more sophisticated and higher as a piece od music art. This is ART.

  • ART??!!THIS...IS.. i actually guess this is art

  • omg .... these are now years I haven't listened to Ulver, I knew Bergtatt to themes from William Blake. I see they are still so wonderfull. Gotta ask the integrality of all albums for christmas !

  • 2:58 Un efimero momento de extasis

    amazing

    ulver rules

  • One of the most powerful song i've heard in a very long time

1'38 > No words to describe that.

  • they do everything amazingly.

  • shite; those some honest buts, innit?

  • Ulver did black metal perfect and they do this trippy shit good too.

  • lmfao :P

  • I'm gonna second the notion of the album cover being badass.

  • Badass yet creepy as hell! Imo for the creepy part at least...

  • I never did care for Ulver as a black metal/folk act. They got better when they changed.

  • i like the album cover

  • Have you also seen the alternative cover? It's pretty bitchin' as well.

Great song. And I agree, great cover! =D

  • yea i saw it right after. i get a powerful feeling wen i see this cover. not sure y lol. but i think it couldnt be more perfect to look at while u listen.

  • Defiantly, when the moods right you just kinda blend into the sun, above the creepy ass (gazelle?). Creepy as fuck. I love it

  • i got it tattood on my arm : )))

  • @typeinbolivianbug

album cover art > music inside it

  • OH MY GOD. ULVER ARE IN THE BUILDING.

  • a masterpiece lp!the wolf is always present ;-}

  • Check out earth, there cool too

  • great dark electronica :P

    ulver^^

  • This song is depressing...yet I somehow find myself attracted to it. I can't seem to stop listening to it..it's beautiful music, creates an atmosphere like none other.

  • From Bergtatt to Shadows Ulver have always seemed to accomplish brilliance effortlessly. Great song

  • right you are :)

  • this song makes me feel how alone we really are in this universe,

  • Przyjaciele, jak przyjaciele....

    Natomiast muzyka genialna :)
