-Most people affected by this most likely do not have a CCW permit anyways, so they obviously don't just feel like they need a weapon. People hunt, do target practice, use them as decoration, and some like to have one in the home for protection -just in case-.

Say that if you have a medical marijuana card, you are not allowed to have a gun until you can demonstrate you can operate the gun while high, simular to driving..

I went to go buy a gun in 2006, only to return 10 days later to a failed application, i got a cannabis possesion charge even though i had a card and got it dropped but i still could not buy a gun. They even gave me some paper saying that i have to sell my other guns or turn them in for destruction, i wiped my ass with that paper :)

But what if in the future, marijuana verification websites are forced to let gun dealers / authorities cross reference the medical marijuana database while doing a background check. I just bought a gun last weekend, and on the background check form, it did ask if I was a marijuana user.
