"in the mood" & "perez prado"! how can you go wrong there? was just checking to see if his rare "monster mambo" has been posted yet as i'll be adding that to my bachelor pad channel
the ORIGINAL "in the mood" was done by glen miller i think, at least the most well known version.
if you want to hear another fun version of this, look for Ernie Fields & His Orchestra's 1950s rock & roll style cover
thanks for posting this. i'll be putting this in my collection soon.
Thank you for your nice comment!I also have Ernie Field's version of "In The Mood".It's a LONDON single record,on side B is "Christopher Columbus" :-)
i got mine from an awesome 3 CD "space age bachelor pad" collection with a lot of WAY better than average rarities that rock out more than other bachelor pad collections that lean more towards the muzak/lawrence welk sound.
i'll be posting some tracks from the compilation soon. i've already posted the three suns' version of "fever"
i just don't get people whose mentality is "it has to be new to be good" when TRULY good music is TIMELESS! "disposable" music just doesn't do it for me
Perez Prado (b. December 11, 1916, Cuba - d. September 14, 1989, Mexico City, Mexico) was a Cuban bandleader and composer. He is commonly referred to as the "King of the Mambo".

Great! A bit choppy (staccato) for my taste. Maybe I'm used to Glenn Millers version?

Thanks for the information.
There's got to be something about Cuba - it's produced FANTASTIC music over the years!
Cheers

Prez does great tunes, but this one is almost un-recoginzeable.
