  • It doesn't get better for 13 people

  • im not even a cubs fan, im a white sox fan, but i respect the cubs for doing this along with every other team thts done it

  • As a Cardinal fan, I am glad to see the Cubs do this, if only my Cardinals could :)

  • @vanfar15 agreed. I wish the Yankees would

  • It does get better... don't listen to stupid, intolerant, bigoted people who are so scared of diverstiy that they have to bring others down. There is nothing wrong with you if you're gay, lesbian or bi and don't let anyone make you think differently. Diversity makes us stronger and to any struggling youth out there, gay, straight, bi, lesbian or transgendered... know it does get better and you are loved. <3 Stay strong.

  • I really wish the cubs would get better.

  • @barneysojic born right? really? it doesn't count if youre inbred you fucking cunt. if you were born right you wouldn't have such a hatred towards ppl who've done nothing to you. i hope somebody breaks into your fucking house and slits your entire families throat while you watch. and then burns your house to the ground with you trapped inside. we need to start another holocaust and exterminate all the homophobes. this world would be a much better place without ppl like you

  • @bigweeniegenie14 Woah chill the fuck out, you think that threats of violence are the way to get things done? Remember that when you say the word "homophobe" it is someone stricken with a phobia, so rather than threaten to kill them (and their family, speaking of which what the fuck have you got going on that you'd kill their family?) realize that a person with a phobia is often time unable to think rationally about what they are afraid of. It's also hard to think rationally when enraged, chill.

  • @aidansomebody often times*

  • @aidansomebody that douche barneysojic isn't afraid of homosexuals, he hates us! he's one of those fucking biggots that makes sure people like me don't get my civil rights. i have every right to stand up for myself and my people

  • @bigweeniegenie14 Most hatred (if not all) is based in fear. You have a right to stand up for your self, but death threats, because of a bunch of youtube comments, is silly.

  • @aidansomebody Perhaps, but who can blame him?

  • @barneysojic you homophobes are nothing but a cancer set on society. if anybody here is going to hell it's you, you fucking biggot.

  • Strictly from a business standpoint, this was a stupid move.

  • What these gay people need to do is stay strong; read your Bible; Pray and ask the Lord to save you and to change the error of your ways and to make you a aprt of God's family and it will definitely get better. Being gay does not get better. Being gay is an abomination to the Lord. It will never get better being that way. Stop letting people deceive you and making you feel that its okay to hump someone the same sex as you are...THAT'S NASTY!!!!!

  • Excellent job! Thanks for using the words Lesbian and Gay and not hiding like some other sportsmen's videos.

  • It won't get better if you're a cubs fan.

  • Time to find a new team I guess...

  • @evanstoler No you should be ashamed of yourself. Hate...hate... hate.... eating you up.

  • yeah buddy! imma gay cubs fan and i approve!!

  • I am a gay man and have been a lifetime die-hard cubby fan! Thank you to my lovable losers! You're always a winner to me!

  • @PSUIVERSON Kindly, do not breed.

  • So funny coming from a bunch of jocks that spent all of high school bullying people and calling people faggot. Thats what Jocks do, they bully people. These hypocrites have no business making this kinda video.

  • @Svperstarr like u

  • I would considering shutting down comments on this if I were MLB. Few folks have anything productive--or on topic--to say.

  • WTF, Cubs org and you dipshitted people that endorse trash like this! I USED TO BE A DIE-HARD CUBS FAN. Now, they are simply religated to the continuing morass of trash and fillth that way too many people are finding it fashionable to be a part of in this nation.

  • Congrats Cubs on taking a stand...First class video with an important message

  • @dps36 What's the message? Children - please feel free to engage in gross perversion and don't allow others to inform you that it's sin and will leave you empty and facing eternal damnation?

  • @PSUIVERSON In my humble opinion the message is, that hate and bigotry have no place in today's society.

The bigger problem is that children are killing themselves due to the out lash they receive because of who they are. I'm curious, what qualifications do you have to determine if a life style is a "gross perversion" and by what authority do determine that an individual is "facing eternal damnation".

  • @PSUIVERSON Oh please do feel free to kindly shut up.

  • @PSUIVERSON

You do realize that that whole "sin" thing is made up, right?

  • How about telling kids to make their lives better, instead of telling them to wait around and take the abuse and hope for it to magically end by itself?

  • I may be a Cardinals' fan, but my club won't step up and make an awesome video like this. The Cubs beat the Redbirds on this one, thank you Chicago!

  • It's not okay to feel Uncomfortable? What do you call sodomy? Fisting? These both are causing anal cancer. What about feeling Unsafe? Whatever happened to the disease called AIDS? Did it go away? What gets better? The lives of homosexuals? They end up lonely old men and the suicide rate is very high amongst them.

  • @julieification Julie, you're spending a lot more time thinking about fisting than most gay guys, trust me...

  • @LiberallyConnor Trust me, I never think about it. Sodomy alone is gross enough. But Satan is pulling the strings and anyone who dares to say what I just said about sodomy will now be charged with a hate crime.

  • This might be just an ever-so-t-i-n-y bit more convincing if these galz & guyz weren't o-b-v-i-o-u-s-l-y reading a script that someone else wrote. If so, it's a 'script' that lacks inspiration.

  • we may of not won a world series in over a hundred years, but that made me proud to be a Cubs fan. :)

    oh and p.s.-darwin you're amazing!

  • This is great to see. Years ago some players were whining that they weren't anti-gay but they just didn't want any of "them" in the showers etc. Mark Grace had a great and funny statement, laughing at them for the idea that there weren't ALREADY a number of gay men in baseball. People just don't realize how common homosexuality has ALWAYS been and the harm done to individuals by labeling it as a perversion is what is perverse.

I'm straight as they come but I believe in equality and respect!

  • there are very proud White Sox fans-including ME that applaud Cubs-their organization players etc etc for making this it gets better video.way to go.

  • @Yereviltwin2 Yea, teach them to suppress who they are. Really dude? What is "good" behavior? Pure ignorance. You are the reason they make these commercials.

  • NICE!!!!

  • @MrXvX83 Reading your response to Yereviltwin cheered me up, thank you :)

  • @MrXvX83

You may or may not choose to be gay, but you do have a choice when it comes to engaging in perverted behavior. And yes, I do not tolerate unnatural perverted behavior to be considered normal in my household. Campaigns that seek to sociality normalize homosexuality and equate it to normal behavior has no place in the sport of Baseball.

  • @MrXvX83

Hmmm, the “it gets better” campaign was started by a gay man in response to GAY bullying. It’s main focus is a homosexual acceptance campaign. Its very clever subversive way to get homosexuality main streamed. It’s very political if you look at the motives of Dan Savage.

  • Response from Dan Savage, co founder of the movement. 'Going to Cubs games as an adult and splitting your time between watching the game—which you've developed an appreciation for—and checking out the shirtless guys in the bleachers: Just one of the many ways that it gets better."' Yeah, keep it real classy buddy.

  • @Bears16and0 And you never checked out the cheerleaders at Soldier Field? Right.

  • @MFKsWolf well A) the Bears don't even have cheerleaders and B) Getting oogled by thousands of guys is part of the job description of a cheerleader, plus theyre getting paid for it.

  • Bullied teenagers AND Cubs fans of all ages need hope that it will get better ;) Seriously though, great message, thanks :) And pay no mind to the neanderthals, they're just mad that civilization has left them behind and we're no longer afraid of them.

  • Way to go, Cubbies!

(Now just win a pennant for us long-suffering fans!)

  • Three homophobic, bigoted White Sox fans dislike this video.

  • Very cool. And this is coming from a Yankees fan. I hope the Yankees make one, too.

  • Thank you.

  • Way to go, Cubs!

  • Love it!!!!

  • This is awesome. Dempster and Barney were already my favorite Cubbies.....this made me a lifelong fan now! WTG guys.

  • Awesome job, guys! Go Cubbies!

Some people who haven't been bullied or harassed might not understand. But I think even if I hadn't, I would be sympathetic, being a Christian. Certainly we don't want any more kids bullied into suicide or having issues in later life.

  • @Yereviltwin2 Wow. aren't we a bigot. If you are a Christian, you would know Jesus never mentioned anything against gays. Let people be who they are. There is enough intolerance in the world.

  • @Yereviltwin2 you're the pervert, dude--live & let live.

  • @Yereviltwin2 How is it politics? They are saying to kids don't commit suicide because you are being bullied because of who you are. I am a die hard life long Cubs fan and an very proud that they did this. GO CUBS!

  • Is this aimed at gay kids or Cubs fans?

  • @peruvianidol LOL

  • This is great thing and amazing considering it's from the MLB. Some of the critical commenters here can only bitch because they have sad, pathetic lives. If you're not helping, just get out of the way.

  • @ksimms75 Helping what? Children live perverted lifestyles that is an abomination to a holy God?

  • Great Cubs PSA for the "Its get Better Project" and "The Trevor Project" for gay (LGBTQ) or straight kids or teens who feel that they are alone and that nothing

can change there future. They need to reach and call "The Trevor Project" number in the video. Nobody should have to feel alone or isolated or suffer in silence or be bullied by anyone weather your gay or straight! "It does get better, so hang in there and reach out to those who care! Go Cubs!...........Go Cubs........Go Cubs.......

  • The organization asked for it to be done, but where are all the players - the stars?

It's great for them to do it, but the unspoken here is very large.

  • @prixator Hey, Marlon Byrd was the only all star last season. I think that's the best we can do, sadly. :(

  • @thecarlhafer Unless all. or many, of the everyday players get behind this, it is just a PR move that means so very little, really. And actually says a lot.

  • @prixator It's a start. 5 years ago you'd never see anything like this. Yeah, it'd be nice if Z, Castro, Garza, etc. were in the video too. But this is still a step in the right direction.

  • @thecarlhafer You are correct. Something is better than nothing. But half-hearted moves in the direction of equality will be recognized as such.

I won't see it as a whole-hearted effort until EVERYONE is involved. That will take a longer time.

Not blaming anyone. It's a good start - but there is a long way to go. For every one.

  • Thank-you for doing this video, but I still hate them!

    GO GO SOX!!!

    :-)

  • @MiamiSpartan1

Don't worry, we still hate you too!

    GO GO CUBS!!!

    :-)

  • @ebromero2 CHRIST WILL HEAL YOUR BROKENESS! YOU'RE A FLAWED INDIVIDUAL!

  • Thank you so much for making this video. As a bisexual woman, I've not always felt welcome as a baseball fan, and this really warms my heart.

  • @MLB

    Ciao Amici!

I cannot tell you my friends, how thrilling it is for Bobby Griffiths' (Prayers for Bobby) old lover/boyfriend here, to witness organizations such as yours joining these all important projects! When you wonderful folks have jumped into the fray as it were, it truly in my mind is a "Death Knell" for bigotry and homophobia!

Grazie Mille Per Tutti!!! (Thank You So Much For Everything)

Il Suo Nuovo Amico Per Sempre! (Your New Friend Always)

  • Thank you Chicago Cubs for making a wonderful It Gets Better video and giving hope and encouragement to our LGBT kids while helping make our world a safer place for everyone.

  • thank you chicago cubs!

  • We (MTM Chicago) are so proud of the Chicago Cubs organization. They have been true pioneers in Chicago's LGBT community. Come celebrate Out at Wrigley (11th annual gay day at Wrigley) on Sunday July 17th. Go to outatwrigley 'dot' com to purchase tickets and show the Cubs we support them.

  • @anfgapguy What a great video! GO CUBS GO!
