the engine used in this model is actually the pratt and whitney F-110 (it even says on the box) not the General Electric F-129. The F-129's are used in the newer f-16's but this model was made by tamiya too long ago for them to have put the new engine in with the kit.
Why it take a year? do you have to paint it or it painted already? How much it cost? Is it hard to do? Where can I buy it? What it made of? I hate to paint it, take too much time, I'm lazy!
@hehetalata - if you ever saw what was involved with the kit, you would understand why it would take a year. You have to paint it, it costs around $160 shipped, you can buy it from a local hobby store or online, it's made of styrene. my recommendation is to start smaller scale.
I'd say about 90% of the model is spray, but I do brush paint places the can or airbrush may miss or cannot reach. It is definitely better to spray on a large surface like this because it's an overall better finish as far a consistency and shade.
Just treated to myself to this one yesterday, a big model, god knows when I'll have the time to finish it. Doesn't look as complicated as the F-16 however. Cant wait for the Tomcat, now there's a huge model.
Why did this take a year to make?
