as a game designer/developer... dark souls is one of the most unforgettable worlds i have ever experienced (in my opinion). This game was absolutely amazingly designed, from the balance between "difficult" and "too difficult," to the synthetic economy built around it, dark souls offers an incredible world to explore...and an even more incredible feeling of accomplishment once defeated, thank you for inspiring a young game dev...after over 500 hours clocked into this game..on to skyrim....ill brb

@Janiturpeinen That's pretty good. At first I had no idea where to go, so I kept attacking the skeletons trying to get past. Then when I figured out what to do I had a few mishaps involving the narrow bridge in Undead Burg that gets fire-bombed by the soldiers and the first black knight you encounter.

@curlybob64 I first started as a Hunter, but after I got my Hunter out of Undead Asylum I made Pyromancer. I tried to go to the graveyard too, but soon realised that the Skeletons are way too hard to fight on right then. :D

Some say it's to punishing, to brutal and unfair. It isn't, really.

Yes, at times it seems to be, but usually that's when players run in without thinking and wonder why they die so quickly.

You must learn enemy moves, understand their attack patterns and then understand the combat of your own character.

Also, enemies aren't weak, they do do a lot of damage, sometimes 1 shot kills.

Demons souls is a much better game than this. This requires far too much grinding, and it's severely Unfair. Demons souls was hard but not angering because when I died I knew it was my fault and being careless. When I die in this game its always because of some cheap bullshit. While in Dark soul you will die even if you have the best gear in the game...Knowledge and timing is your best weapon in this game. Not being greedy while fighting bosses is probably the only point in common these games have :P
