  • Thank you for sharing this fine piece. Very inspiring! (as always, btw)

  • Great page! The information you provide is quiet helpful, why I was not able to find it earlier. Anyways I’ve subscribed to your feeds, keep the good work up.

  • very entertaining and informative page. Ill be back..

  • Thanks for share Good information. Awesome Post!!

  • Great site here, I'm a webmaster myself & I found some cool ideas on this site.

  • Колобок :)

  • Is it possible to output to a HD TV while recording or output live view to HDMI computer capture card?

  • Pretty nice video mode, but the pans look a bit rough and the price is a little steep. I believe the Canon T2i is a much better value with superior video and still quality.

  • sony nex 5

  • @proximu I have lots of NEX-5 video samples in my review of it at cameralabs . com...

  • nice! check out my Panasonic GF1 video :)

  • These reviews are great.

But I don't understand why the footage was so low grade. I looked at some other videos and the footage looked AMAZING. Like from a Cinema grade camera.

Is this from the lens? O.o

  • Is this camera manufactured in japan, or elsewhere? Thank you.

  • Camera Labs Please Help:

I saw the LX3 review and it's Fantastic.....

Where is the same thing for this GF1???

Please be in here some place..... Help!!!

  • @VALMARIESASK My full review of the GF1 is at cameralabs . com...

  • do u know any camcorder or movie camera that produces quality like SLR camera such as Nikon D90..,. my concern is depth of field...tq

  • you live in queenstown new zealand lol

  • why cameralabs not reviewing pentax and casio , samsung cameras also other new models

  • @au1947 Pentax refuses to send me cameras to test, and Casio and Samsung aren't in contact with me.

  • @cameralabs : thnak you for information

and your website and reviews are really very nice..

    thanks

  • @cameralabs you do test canon and others, I like your reviews!

  • One of the best review sites. Keep up the good work. Just got one myself and posted some sample vids it takes.

  • Please make a video review of Video Cameras... U have such high technical knowledge. We have to rely on wannabe tech sites like Tiger Direct or G4tv for camcorder reviews. Although i am not a pro, i can make out those chaps know nothing about imaging and video ! Tech sites should not review digital imaging products, they blabber like anything cuz they feel they know anything related to tech. One fine day they will be reviewing Yamaha keyboards despite having zero knowledge of music.

  • @MikeMessiah Hi Mike, I'd like to cover camcroders too, but I'm a one-man operation and don't have time to do all the still cameras I want to do!

  • Which is the most pancake ish or compact lense with IMAGE stabilization for this camera

  • i dont understand it good... is it right you say it has no good stabilisation on videos?

  • i got this camera few days ago and love it take amazing pics and video

i sold my canon 450d as i didnt use it enough cos it was bigger to take around even tho its amazing camera

i will get more use from this gf1

if i was going to get another canon i would get the 550d

  • Panasonic recommends class 6 for this camera.

  • Why is the video so stuttery when you use it handheld?

  • Because there is no inbody image stabilization (IS) on the GF1, and the 20mm lens used doesn't have IS either.

  • Yeah, I know that - but this does not look like "the trembling of a hand" - it looks like a digital flaw. Can it be a slow memorycard? I've seen other handheld videos in motion with the same lens that is perfect..?

  • As you alluded to, perhaps they were using a faster Class 6 memory card.

  • I Got mines 2 days ago..so far it's great..i'm just disappointed in the mono mic..no jack either for an external mic hai!!!! i wanted the GH1 since it used stereo and has the jack too, but yupp twas outta stock, anyhoo overall..this cam's actually pretty userfriendly and a beauty!

  • which one is better the leica d-lux 4 or olympus gf1

  • i hardly hear you, but, did you just said that GF1 doesn't has optical stabilizer?? that would be bad...

  • @KaNGaRooBaby910 well if you get the 14-45mm lens it does..and other models

  • good information thank u from spain

  • I think you recorded these samples with avchd codec, the mjpeg records are much cleaner and nearly free of that ugly aliasing

  • I think you must have fallen asleep at the point where I said all of the clips in this video were filmed using the motion JPEG format - see 1:08.

  • @cameralabs

u replies to the comments sound a bit harsh...

  • @MikeMessiah Do you mean the one comment above? I clearly stated in the video what setting was used so there's no confusion.

  • @cameralabs

And hold in mind that this lens hasnt got stabilisation

  • Nice review, thank u.

  • Very informative Gordon .. Thanks here from Dubai.

  • Can GF1 use 'Class 10' SDHC cards - I have a spare?

Below is Canon's 'Class 10' compatibility mumbo-jumbo (with their HF100 camcorder)

Canon quote - "Unfortunately that is not a matter of firmware update. Class 10 cards use card readers that have been made with micro-readers that can operate with that type of card (that compresses phisically the message in a different way from class 6). It records data in a different bit-rate than your camcorder can register due to hardware limitations."

  • i use class 6 in my dmc gf-1 and i have nno problem i think you have no problem to use class 10 ,them ...for what devices is made?

  • Nice Compilation as always Gordon.

I guess GF-1 is best suited for 2nd camera.

    Only more expensive

  • Excellent review. Thank You

  • balancing it on coffee cups ... now that is an idea to try

  • i love camera labs!!! so clear reviews and best website!

  • i have this! best purchase evah!

  • is there an entry level DSLR section on your site, Gordon?

  • go to "bestbuys" near the top and click budget level dslr's

  • If you just visit the site, you'll see :P

  • I tried but so far as I could see it's all lumped into one DSLR category.

  • nevermind! found it.

  • i think ill get this then.. or gh1..

  • Where do you shoot your videos? It looks beautiful there.

  • He lives in New Zealand.

  • its queenstown, new zealand!

  • I think NZ
