  • I was only 14, I had to hitch half-way across the country,

but when I arrived, magic DID filled the air, family was everywhere,

there must have been 4,000 trippers in the park that day, there was nothing but good vibes,

I felt more at home than at any other time in my life. I loved, and was loved.

I didn't drop acid, but they shared herb. I had no money, and yet I was never hungry or thirsty, family shared all, and everyone had everything. Hippies were the best. I still carry their Love.

  • and some are dead idiots are not. Peace dudeX

  • Not a very good version compared with the studio-recording of it....

  • lol Jack Nickelson with crazy rnd taliban guy 0:28 - Ghostrider since past ;D ?!

  • roll another, just like the other one . . .

  • hmm jadziem

  • soldiers , are hero,s hippie,s are not.

  • @metalmieris

    soldiers are murderous robots,

    ...hippies are not.

  • Why did I have to be born in the 90s I would have loved to be a teenager during the 60's

  • @stevosmusic YOU HAVE THE MUSIC NOW AND FOREVER. Cheers.

  • @stevosmusic I was born in 1950 and I just loved the music of the '60's, lots of really happy memories....

  • @stevosmusic Are you sure? You might just be a reincarnation from the 60s.......since you rejoice on that level??

  • yhea ,Scott Mckenzi is mi hero for the music

  • @cazagolero is of

  • I was in London, and I was 20, so I had been through the entire Sixties period during the most formative time of my life. Scott McKenzie's bell-like voice marked one of the high points. But very soon after that, things went bad. The hippy idea was briefly seductive, but the love-and-piece ethos didn't make sense to me. By the end of the decade, I had only contempt for the druggies and the hippies. They were all doped-out losers. Up until McKenzie, we were doing well. After that, Marxist crap.

  • TOP

  • piękne.

  • Going to san francisco tonight so thought id play this :)

  • OMG! All the "B" Girls in Angeles City, Philippines dreamed of this becoming true for them in 67-69. Been there and done that at Clark AB.

  • I, (originally from Scotland, spent most of my life in Canada and now back in Britain, England), was travelling Europe in late 1986 -87, was stuck in a Paris train staion during a strike - there were many nationalities complaining and groaning about delays and the inconvience of being there, and then this song came on the radio (someones rather large getto-blaster), everybody shut-up, listen and understood, it was unity in an original 60s hope, Beautiful, I'll never forget it, where you there???

  • @jigln I was 12 years old, so no, I did not runaway to SF. Tempted, yes. But stayed in Toronto.

  • @deafsubtitles I lived in Toroto 65 -72, went to St, Margaret's elementary, in North York, anyway I was asking IF anybody was in that Paris train station during that strick Dec 22cd or 23rd, 1986. Peace!

  • @jigln I wish I was in Paris then and now. Glad you had chance to be there.

  • Yes, this was before good ol' San Francisco traded in the hippies for the hipsters

  • i love this song ☺

  • ¡Què tiempos, señor Don Simòn! Dulce haberlo vivido, para poderlo contar!

  • People in motion...

  • LOL... 69 dislikes

  • @1100HondaCB. Well you live and learn......

  • question: when was it that SF was invaded by all the twinkies. The 60's?

  • Yeah 1100HondaBC. Bring back the sixties when there was no internet and no youtube. Right on brother

  • @thirddandave Funny enough, I can't live without the internet and spend much time on Youtube in particular, but in the sixties, the internet was around believe it or not, in a rather archaic form known as DARPAnet. This was the basis of the internet of what we now know and love, but of course, not available to the likes of you an I. As the saying goes, what you don't know can't hurt you. At least in the sixties everyone was too "chilled" to even get bored without the internet.

  • Květinové děti

  • Figured there had to be a Mamas and Papas connection in there. Great song!!

  • Makes my spine tingle. Reminds me of Kawasaki's W1 motorcycle which was released the same year and was the largest displacement motorcycle on the market at 624cc. Remarkably, it looked liked a BSA and even the clutch cover looked identical and the engine sounded the same. The sixties must have been such a cool time, much better than the shit we have today in such an over populated and hostile world, plagued by drugs and technology with CCTV watching your every move. Bring back the sixties.

  • this song is Epic and i love it :3

  • Thanks Baby Boomers for making a mess of everything. If the WWII generation is the " Greatest Generation", the Baby Boomers are the most "Screwed Up" generation.

  • @mariancolts just look at all the rock stars of the era who are still alive, not a pretty sight...

  • the band here was little slow; holding him up a tad!

  • @bullsnutsoz

    Too much wacky weed

  • 67 people got on the wrong bus and ended up in North Korea instead...

  • Dislike^^

  • - festivalul de muzica pop- monterey 67- frumoasa piesa.

  • this song is the shit!!!! especially because this song was used in a remix for the san francisco 49ers rap anthem!!

  • Wtf?!

  • @Jazzdancefreak Yeah, Rolling Stones should been there. The Monterey International Pop Music Festival was a three-day concert event held June 16 to June 18, 1967 at the Monterey County Fairgrounds in Monterey, California. Monterey was the first widely promoted and heavily attended rock festival, attracting an estimated 55,000 total attendees with up to 90,000 people present at the event's peak at midnight on Sunday.

  • hippies foerever!!!

  • @Nightwithe I need a doobie and some acid

  • @hotmn4u Fuck off you dick head your just a fucked up wanker people like you should be locked away for life, i would love to meet you you arsehole face to face, you would be crying like a baby & crying for your mom wanker!!!!

  • @friday1808 what the hell is wrong with you?

  • @strappingone hey at least you caught some of it, I was born far too late to have ever been there but I can't say I didn't enjoy the 90s or the angst behind the music, its honestly the last time I can say music or culture was relevant, since then we've almost become caricatures of ourselves. The hippie spirit does live on though and for that I am grateful.

  • @ARunawayTrain Well put..I agree. God bless and keep enjoying.

  • @tuezr89 agreed the world could use a dose of this...not just the u.s. sadly we will never conquer war, hate lives long in the hearts of men.

  • omg its the bus further on 2:10, to be apart of the era

  • Everything changed after the cult of "Material Girl".

  • all aboard my time machine to 1967, u can only get on if u have far out clothes on

and thats it, no technolgy, we dont want to be bringing todays shit music back with us

whne we get there one person gets the beer, some else get us a love wagon, were going staright to a rock fest iin san fran

    afterwards we all make love

  • A beautiful time. I was 19 and fancy free floating around on my 250 BSA Sunbeam. The future seemed so bright.

  • The flowers are to easy the smell that comes from all these stinky hippies. Lol kidding, peace.

  • GO NINERS!!!!!

  • People were so nice-loking and so peaceful with flowers in their hair that we can only regret that flowers are no longer in fashion.......

  • Remember when we were not afraid of the sun and summers were filled with excitement and adventure? what happened? What happened is we were taken over, almost everyone now days is on some proscription drug and on fluoride so out of it! We can not even see we have been invaded, harsh to say but true. We got work to do, Ron Paul is all we have to start moving in the right direction and then from there, ????????????????? it is up to us. We have to take one step

  • I want going san francisco

  • The filthy song that wrecked the beautiful scene that it was promoting. A shameful piece of crap that never should have seen the light of day.

  • Never been to San Francisco before but i love the town anyway

  • ozzy osbourne's book brought me here ;)

  • THUMBS UP FOR THE MESSAGE IN MY PROFILE...

  • join US ARMY !

  • DIG THIS --- XTRAKRUNCHY DIDNT NEED NO STINKIN FLOWERS IN HIS HAIR --- HE SMOKED EM --- HAIGHT STREET --- 1967

  • Beautiful, magical, some of the band like the bass is way of with wrong notes and stuff but that ain't the point. The magic is magical.

  • this is the saddest of songs, I was in conflict in Aden, listening to peace songs I couldnt join in.

  • eu amo está música....

  • @1disrupt I do not accept these things as the norm, I look at them with disgust and disdain. I look back on the 60s and see so much I wish we still had, so much we lost in the decades following, so much we'll never get back. We fought an unpopular war for nearly 10 years in Iraq, much like we did in Vietnam and yet there was no uproar, no sit-ins, no flowers in guns, no protests for peace. Are we that accustomed to war now that we just accept it?

  • @ARunawayTrain Bring in conscription for the next war the USA picks and the students will get off their asses and march.

  • How can there be 64 people that have no taste in music? This is an all time 60's classic

  • @sixtiesforever1966

    Agreed!

  • ESTA PERO EN LCD PURO ESE MAN PERO CANTA MUY BIEN :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

  • The best song on the world

  • this is the best classical song ever i still hear it with my dad at 2012

  • I was a toddler when they played it on radio but I loved this song soooo much :)

  • This song is so beautiful that i can listen it over and over :)

  • Let me give a does of hope those to those who still have that San Fran. spirit in your not-totally-jaded hearts. I met a couple n their 70's; beautiful people, he a lawyer who works for the people on the streets who have no voice. She's a teacher who has volunteered weekends for the last 40 years in the inner city to help kids find their full worth. They take from life only what they feel than put back and theyr gentlest, hopeful people I've ever met. They came to San Fran. and never left.

  • @MrCarlosraven o preguiçoso que nunca aprende Ingles e VOCE, AND GOD BLESS AMERICA, MY BIG LOVE WAS AN AMERICAN MAN AND THEY ARE THE BEST MEN, agora usa voce o tradutor ok invejoso ?

  • I visit San Francisco in 2010 with 8 friends on a Bachlor-Road-Trip from SF, over Santa Cruz, LA to Las Vegas. We are from Germany. Before we start to San Franciso, i wonder why people can life in a dangerous Earthquake Area. When i visit San Francisco, i know, why people don´t care about this. It´s the most beautiful city i´ve ever visit. I will come back asap to see more of this wonderful relaxed city. The people are so friendly and relaxed. There is still a kind of Flower Power in the air.

  • A glimpse of the world before it really went to shit, when people didn't get so caught up in materialistic things...when fake tans, nails and hair weren't the norm. My only wish is that we could bring those feelings, that love, that sense of purpose back but it appears lost forever into a void of apathy and disdain. What happened to us America?

  • @ARunawayTrain I often listen to the great music of the 60's and also wonder what happened to America ? All the people that were by my side protested the VietNam War and Segregation are now sending children to fight in Wars that make no more sense than the VietNam War, and now instead of us protesting Segregation the black children are killing each other for the drugs our government lets flood our streets all for a dollar.

  • @ARunawayTrain materialism is consistent and consistancy is evil, becuase evil is consistant. (i agree with you)

  • @ARunawayTrain ........People like you started to think that fake tans, fake nails and getting ur hair done was the norm.... NOT MY NORM, thats where america went wrong.... you accepted the bullshit(and i aint no hippie fag or anything just saying).........

  • @ARunawayTrain Unfortunately it's not only to America............in Europe the fellings are the same and no one cares anymore about anything except for the latest gadget.....flower Power what's left??

  • @ARunawayTrain Or people from all across the World. We are incurably sick too...

  • @ARunawayTrain I caught the tail end of the movement. Wish I had experienced more. What a great time .There were Good and bad of course ,but the good was really good, and not in a negative way.

  • @ARunawayTrain Changing the appearance of the body is hardly new, seeing that the old egyptians already did that.

  • @ARunawayTrain Then the illuminati struck and that was the end, till we take them out to a good hangin>

  • @ARunawayTrain I was a hawk at the time, I volunteered for Viet-Nam. Sigh. I returned with; shall we say a different perspective. Last year when My wife and I visited San Francisco again the Haight district brought back some memories both bitter and sweet.

  • I cant listen to this song anymore without picturing Sean Connery singing this in the shower in the movie the rock. Blah

  • hippy sex & drugs....take me back please

  • I just straightened out, when did the Beatles break up? Man everybody's got Spock's tricorder now, far out!

  • The band really layed an egg with this one-wow, slowed right down....

  • @SenfMann132 Same here bro, I hate this generation, the women in this time looked so exquisite and natural that they looked like something of true beauty from a fairy tale. It just makes me want cry!!

  • 2:55 So cute. Back then the women were so beautiful. Not like nowadays, all those whores with their faces full of Make up, and artificial tan.

  • @SenfMann132 im taking a hint from all of the guys here. From now on my makeup will only be sixties inspired.

  • @pomfan07 Do that guuuuuurl.

  • why would a deaf person listen too music?

  • @MrGuitarphenomenon FOR the same reason as hearing people. They like it, they really, really like it.

  • @deafsubtitles True lol. Appreciate the respond : P

  • @deafsubtitles and i like you.

  • @MrGuitarphenomenon my thought exactly

  • @MrGuitarphenomenon They still can read the lyrics and dream what the song may be about.!

  • @MrGuitarphenomenon For the same reason a blind person watches TV.

  • @MrGuitarphenomenon I am hard of hearing, but with headphones and the subtitles, it's really very nice.

  • @MrGuitarphenomenon They probably want to be involved with what is (or was) going on, just like everyone else, as much as they can. Nobody likes to be left out of things.

  • Wonderful song... Thumbs up...

  • Nothing but chinks and faggs in San Fran now

  • @kubie9216 . Loser, homophobe, racist. Funny, but your comment is the antithesis of the song.
