I've been to Japan, a few times, and I have friends who live in Japan, and have lived in Japan. Dir En Grey may not be the most popular band, but in Japan they are on the level of bands like Disturbed and Slipknot in America, they are popular with a little coverage outside of the metal community, but it's mostly within a certain taste. They are very popular though, and they make millions of dollars having more fun working hard than you do at your bitter ass job.
