The part where the music stopped was because you were taking too long to clear the round. If you had taken any longer, the invincible Skel Monsta would've appeared and chased you until you either took out the last enemy in that round or lost a life.

I remember beating this title numerous times when I found a copy of this at a flea market. My high score for this game was 1,578,060 points last time I checked.

It's actually a very rare game if you can find it, but I have an actual copy of the Gameboy version.
