  • This is very interesting because the Panorama is mentioned in the book "Wonderstruck" by Brian Selznick. It is a fiction story, but it tells about a person who worked on the buildings and hid secrets inside. It is neat to see this video to see what it really looks like. Thanks!

  • @goldfincheagle2 I also looked this up because it was in the book Wonderstruck which I am almost finished with.

  • @mbphofan i got that info when i went to the queens museum of art for a 5th grade field trip the person giving the tour told us that info so im pretty sure that im right

  • Awesome vid! thanks for sharing. That is a masterpeice and i hope it is preserved for years to come

  • /watch?v=KprRWMNi4LU wtc and new york model new pic's

  • if its worth doing, ITS WORTH OVER DOING!!!!

  • 200 people worked on it for 3 years not 100 people or 3 years ago

  • @mythguy418 it said that it took 100 people to build it, over a 3 year period. Is that info wrong?? Was it actually 200 people that spent 3 years building it?? Where did you get that info?? If you are right (which i dont doubt) then the person who made this video misinformed us.

  • Watch my own version of the model.....

  • the wtc antenna and the towers themselves are crooked.

  • We are talking about the same thing, but I don't know about the maintenance.

  • These cars are what I was talking about. Many people believe they were a tram.

  • Some needs to through some Model trains on this Serisously !!!

  • I went here a week ago. This is awesome!

  • Does anyone on this page know that there originally was a tram ride around this model?

  • I remember going there when I was a kid. I'm not sure if I remember a tram ride but I think there was some sort of transport.

  • There were cars that went around the panorama, and the walkway was not there

  • @awaseniu During its world fair run, there was a simulated helicopter ride around the perimeter of the model. A narrator (the mayor?) would talk about each of the boroughs that make up New York City

  • thats how it was back in 64' there wasn't any 7 lines yet

  • On the contrary, the 7 line was around since the 30's, yes even up to Flushing. So the Panorama is incorrect. Some things just get overlooked.

  • i Love this City

  • Why aren't there any trains on this model. They have boats and planes that take off from Laguardia but no trains and thats called a Model of New York City?? No Subways come on

  • Kool!

  • wow

  • I have movies taken by my father of the panorama like exhibit at the 1939 world's fair at the same fairgrounds. Passengers sat in moving chairs around a 3d diorama of sorts. Key feature was moving car models, and the introduction of cloverleaf highway systems and bypasses...

  • I saw this at the NYWF in 1965 and again in 1989 on a return visit to the old fairgrounds. Still a impressive layout.
