surprisingly good. guess the coward-ish "ironic detachment" fits proto-shoegaze quite well. the song's magic is so hushed as to be irrelevant to duplicate, & no-one should try anyway: the macabre self-mockery of a man who created his own epic grandeur, now on perilous sinking ship. how many people achieve that in a short pop song? just feed the swans:P
