  • chuck e and berry monsters of rock

  • Chuck = The CREATOR of Rock And Rol!

  • @chernovid Chuck = recorded after Elvis made "Thats All Right" the first rock record

  • @TheOnlyOneKingElvis Actually the FIRST rock record was by Tina Turner's ex - husband Ike Turner titled ROCKET 88. Elvis was a young truck driver who used to stop by the bar to here Ike perform on the guitar!

  • @2012lacruz Yes, "Rocket 88" is a rhythm and blues song that was first recorded at Sam Phillips' recording studio in Memphis, Tennessee, in March 1951. It has been claimed by Phillips and generally accepted to be the first rock and roll song. The first ROCKABILLY song was That's All Right Mama written and performed by Elvis.

  • @John1948ThreeA That's All Right Mama was recorded by Arthur 'Big Boy' Crudup ever before Elvis got his hands on it...

  • @JohnVasco Thanks for the correction. Elvis' recording was considered the first "rockabilly" song but it was written and originally recorded by Crudup. I understand that Crudup gave it a more traditional blues arrangement.

  • Hey uploader. TURN YOUR ADVERTISMENTS OFF!

  • @washboardblues I can't. It's the only way some material is allowed to stay on YouTube.

  • Several Years ago I was driving home up the Jersey Turnpike from a Chuck Berry Show. I knew what he was driving as he signed an Autograph from the driver's seat after the show. After stopping for some food and getting on the Turnpike we saw his car up ahead, I flew past him doing over 90mph. By the time we hit the Toll Booth he had past me and left me in his Tailights. The Man really does drive Fast !!! Kurt Justinius...

  • @kurtjustinius so what?

  • Comment removed

  • chucks the man ;)

  • We still haven’t caught him. What a lyric

  • Everyone in the rock biz should be paying him royalties. This guy is IT.

  • this is where John Lennon got the melody to "Come Together". There was a big financial settlement before it went to cort.

  • If there was a microphone in front of him it would at least fool some people. Too bad these shows didn't actually allow live performances. Good song nonetheless.

  • Rock!!!

  • The one person who dislikes this is obviously deaf and blind ...

  • @MrMspikem But he sure plays a mean pinball!!!! LOL

  • rock and roll !!!:)

  • Hi John1948ThreeA What I meant with probably the only sincere R'n'R-artist is: Chuck played a kind of music in which he was true to himself and R'n'R. Examples of other NOT sincere artists? Take the greatest of them all, Elvis. He sang almost every kind of songs. I loved them all, but Chuck played 100% R'n'R. Buddy Holly recorded songs with violins, and I loved that too. Chuck never did that. That's what I call sincere. You get it?

  • @DocHollidayB70 Yes, now I get it. And you might be right.

  • He never ever learned to read or write so well,

but he could played the guitar just like ringin' a bell...

And when he does the duck walk he blows my mind!

Perhaps the only sincere R’n’R-artist there ever was.

  • @DocHollidayB70 sincere R'n'R- artist - how do you mean that? Can you give some examples? I'm just not understanding...

  • pop art

  • Always the greatest.

  • 2:43 Epic dance

  • all this king talk, i say they were all kings of different rock n roll kingdoms

  • @jaypauldini That is an intelligent remark! And I do agree!

  • hes the king of rock n roll...elvis is the king of gospel. sure...

  • @donfrein1 Whatever. LOL

  • Rock and Roll at its finest....This man is the true King of Rock and Roll....and yesssssss the duck walk...no one else can do that with style.

  • Wow, great stuff. Fantastic notes as well from the uploader, thank you sir.

  • the earliest wireless rig :)

  • Hey, 1:07 so that's where the Beatles got it!

  • @CaseyJohanna this is where they all got it

  • The guy who invented rock and roll...

  • Happy Birthday Chuck Berry!

  • Hey Don't forget ol' "Killer" Jerry Lee Lewis also............. so sad my ICON Elvis Presley died in 1977............... God rest his soul the KING............. NOBODY will be like him but Chuck and Jerry keep ROCKIN on!!!!!!!!!

  • He survived elvis, john lennon, kurt cobain, Jim Morrison, Jimmy hendrix, freddy mercury, michael jackson and even amy winehouse. apart from his massive contribution to music is that an an achivement for its own!

  • GÉNIAL

    TheCARENTAN

  • he totally didnt fit that time. He seems like he would atleast be in the 60's.

  • this guy know how to rock! i've been a fan of chuck berry since the late 1970s.and still is.i hope he get more fans of liking his music and put a lot of today's pop artists into low numbers of liking their music.

  • Fantastic video!

  • Chuck Berry with a Gretsch G6121.

  • FANTASTIC ~

  • This video is so cool. Chuck Berry back in my days of school. I love it! I love it! And so did the public.

  • True King Of Rock N' Roll

  • He invented rap for sure

  • Nice acting with that Les Paul. It is not his regular guitar that;s an Gibson ES. In those days artists had to playback their songs.

  • one person tried to catch him

  • all other people are just copying him he invented it

  • still listening this in 2999

  • one person is a complete idiot

  • great song

  • What a showman! David Byrne stole practically every move for his stage personna on the Stop Making Sense tour. Watch the clip of "Life During Wartime:" Chuck Berry channeled through a New York hipster.

  • He was big step in Rock 'n Roll music :D

  • hes not plugged in to an amp ?

  • @Atomicflash500 wireless... LOL

  • Chuck Berry is THE King!!

  • Johnny Johnson is playing the piano here. He is just "tearing it up"!

And, if that's Willie Dixon playing a stand-up string bass, he's "tearing it up", too!

  • thumbs up if you like Chuck Berry - You Can't Catch Me (Rock Rock Rock 1956)

  • @sexykatie90 Didn't they invent a rating system for that?

  • got luv the man

  • Chucky baby! He is a king. I have to admit I also love the early Stones cover of this song (and I'm sure they're version helped Chuck's bank account).

  • is that a very early les paul he's playing?

  • @kennytheamazing I'm not sure but it kinda looks like a Gretsch Duo Jet to me

  • @kennytheamazing it's a Gretsch Jet Firebrid (the red-top version of the Duo-Jet, which had a black top).

  • Great stuff! Chuck is soooo young there... I was even younger! LOL

  • Chuck Berry is an original Badass.

  • Man, that is still one bass-ass song. Great work. 1956!!!!!

  • Chuck's guitar is more accurately a Gretsch PX6130 "Roundup" as per the Gretsch 1955 catalog. He cut "School Day" with this guitar; lots of treble "bite". Mr. Berry loved country and western music. The 6130 certainly has C&W vibe about it.

  • @penn4644 that's a truly sexy guitar!!

  • theres none other like chuck berry.

  • very good

  • amazing

  • My FAVE Chuckie tune! And it has a video! And he's playin' a Gretsch 6128!

  • I watch this video every day...and I mean LITERALLY everyday.

  • @herelionlion That's what I call a fan!!!

  • @John1948ThreeA yup a big one :)

  • @herelionlion Hey, great idea! I might just do the same.

  • @herelionlion chuck is the best... i can´t believe that he´s still alive and he´s still playing... for me he´s the god of rock and roll... HEIL HEIL ROCK AND ROLL!!!!

  • I realize that I like old music more than the music today. Music today are all the same the singer curse like every 2 second into the song, which I really hate.Old song are very different and I like it. These day I really love Rock n Roll.

  • @MyYummycookie Songs back then were basically the same thing with same singer all over, it just it had more memorable "cookies".Oh yes and invention of rocknroll.

  • 1:07 'Here come Old Flat-Top..'(Come Together) I bet Lennon played this song in the Cavern Days and 'borrowed' the lyric. I really like Berry's side strut w/guitar @ 2:44 It's the ultimate of cool & I'm going to show this to my 11 yr. old daughter this weekend who loves old R&R clips. I showed her the T.A.M.I. show a few mos ago & she loves James Brown altho she asked me, "Dad, if he's calmed down & they've helped him with the cape, why does he keep going back to the mic?" LOL thx for the vid!

  • Super

  • real raw talent.

  • what else is rock n' roll!!

  • awesome...timeless...LEGEND

  • esto si es rock
