  • I have thsi camera and have had nothing but problems with the audio after I upload video of my daughter musician peofmances onto Youtube. Crackling sound and pops in the Audio typically in louder venues where she sometimes plays with her band. Recorded handheld using camera mike. Should I manually turn to record volume to Lo when I know it will be loude or doe tha hav no effect?

  • Does anyone have any idea how to record in 4:3?

  • iyuyuyuyuyuyuyut77tyyyyyyyyykgkgkjfjfkjfujgddgdgggggdgdgdggdgdgffdefyettyetycccccccfsfstftfstfstsfffffftstyftyftyyyyftyffffffffgtyfffffffffffffffffffftyfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffdrsssssssssass

  • it is hd he even says full 1920x1080 which is full hd

  • 'this is not a hd camera' but then he says "it records in 1920X1080" so whats HD?? This guy must have been partyring hard the night before with amel nitrate

  • He didn't say this is not an HD, he said this is another high definition cam corder. Play it over a few times and listen closely. It's the British accent that makes him hard to understand.

  • you're right :)

  • how much does it cost??

  • 1119.99

  • WTF!!!! who the f*&^ is this clown reading from a clearly unedited cue card!?? "Now, this is NOT a high definition camcorder...." then goes on to say: "It shoots video at 1920x1080" Hmm.... last time i checked, that WAS HIGH DEFINITION! dont review/showcase products you obviously have no idea about....

  • he said this is ANOTHER high defintion camcorder. play it back a few times. the accent makes it hard to understand, but he does say ANOTHER high definition camcorder.

  • @TekGuide

at 06.00 yes, 'another' is said.

at 48:00 he said NOT a high definition clearly. listen to the fluctuation in the voice also, you wouldnt say 'another' in that tone. i have no problem with accents, just sales reps who have no idea about products.

  • @dynamitefunk

at 00:48 it is at the outtake of the film. there are no words being said?

  • i got this in singapore great camera, but never take it to the beach trust me

  • to bad they don't use the hard drive disks on better cameras.

  • what is better:canon hg21 or this

  • sony is better

  • he says it's "another" high definition camcorder and later continues by saying it records 1920 to 1080....

  • how do i upload the videos i make with this camera to youtube?

  • this is to: nasruldeen... Its almost impossible to get it on youtube. because avchd simply sucks, so does the camera. i have this camera too, so i know what i am talking about. :P

thats right, i just wasted $1199.. or $11.99 or... whatever.

  • are you using pinnacle studio 12 as a converter for avchd ???

  • no, i have final cut pro on Mac. i can place it into imovie and then export it as quicktime, but i think its anoying. it waste to much time, and the data (quicktime) became very big! :S

i like the JVC camcorder which record Quicktime HD inmediately. i think that is better for Apple...

  • i wouldn't use that program to upload to youtube. i have one of these camcorders and i use Sony Vegas Pro8.0, and everything is immaculate.

  • @TekGuide

yes, but it sucks that i have to buy a editing software, wich is verry expensive, only bacause the camera is useless without the software...

i heard so many people with the same problem, and just too many people are not warned about the file type ''mts''.

i think the best thing to do, is to buy, or download an mts converter...

  • @Flowraince

you can get editing software such as Sony Vegas, or Pinnacle Studio, for free. You can search on youtube in the search bar- "How to Get Sony Vegas Pro 8.0 for free" it will come up with tutorials on how to get the software(s) for free.

  • @TekGuide

ghehe yes i know, but i already have the converter :P

so it takes all my problems away with the mts files.

but thanks for the help =)

  • @Flowraince

Most professional HD editors and composition softwares today supports the AVCHD format, such as Sony Vegas, Premiere, After Effects and possibly Final Cut.

  • The camera that interest me is the one that the guy who is filming has :D

  • £11.99p that is well cheap lol

  • he meant $1199.00

  • I am currently trying to find a good HD camcorder, and I heard this one shoots in

1080i...Has anyone seen or used the Canon Fh100 model?

  • hey i just bought this camera,

could someone please leave a comment on my unboxing vid?

    pleassee

  • On the camera mode in this handycam does the camera has flash

  • silly question, but im a rookie thwn it comes to handycams. does this camera have the option of placing fish- eye lens to it?

sorry to sound dumb, thanks heaps to anyone who wants to answer!

  • google the camera model + fisheye

  • Hi Kezamizogabi,

You will have no power problems at all. Maybe you have to buy a power-plug adapter, that's it. But, more important will be your choise on the PAL system or the NTSC system.

Europe is using the PAL system but I think Ireland doesn't belong to Europe (money wise, what a shame, LOL), maybe you have your own left driving video system. Anyway the PAL system cost more in the US and you have to place an "E" after the type code. so; HDSR-SR12E

  • so is the vat not included in the total price?

i didn t know that.....i know that in shop u r charged the vat at the till...plz reply!thnx!!

  • yes you are charged VAT in a shop here in the UK, or from a British website etc. but when you buy an item from abroad you are exempt from paying sales tax in that country, because the item is being exported, in this case, to the UK. Understand? In order for the company in the USA to not pay their local sales tax, the item must carry a customs declaration showing its value, when it leaves the country. when it gets here, OUR customs people add our rate of sales tax (VAT, 17.5%) to the item.

  • so, you pay for the item when you buy it from the USA, then when it arrived here our customs people calculate the VAT amount based on the customs declaration value, and then send you a bill - usually about 14 days later. if you don't pay the bill, you will get a customs and excise officer knocking on your door and they have more power than the police. What you need to do is convert the US dollar price into £UK, then add 17.5%. That will give you the total amount you will end up paying. Clear?

  • you wont be able to calculate an exact figure to nearest penny because the amount of VAT payable will be calculated according to the US Dollar / UK £ exchange rate prevailing on the day that the item arrives here in the UK, but you will be able to get a close figure.

sure there are some real bargains in the US, but you need to consider that you will, in all likelihood, get stung for our sales tax too. Consider that when you're bargain hunting abroad. Good Luck.

  • hello, could anyone help?i want to order a sony camcorder from the usa to ireland, but i am not sure i ll work becouse

    it might have us plug.

it might work at 110v and not at 220v!?

do u think it would work if i get it?please reply

  • Of course it will work. All the electronics are the same voltage anywhere in the world. all you need to do when you get it is either buy a US/Continental power adapter, or chop the plug off and use one of weird UK 3 pin plugs. That is the least of your worries though. the camera will have a customs declaration form attached stating it value in US dollars. you will certainly get a bill from our customs and excise people asking for the VAT. Are you sure you want to buy from the US?

  • so is the vat not included in the total price?

i didn t know that.....i know that in shop u r charged the vat at the till...plz reply!thnx!!

  • I may be mistaken but if I recall...it is a bit more complicated than that (regarding the plug/voltage system). The US uses the NTSC format and if I am not mistaken, overseas uses the PAL format...which this is very important when purchasing cameras and such. If this is not a factor, then I apologize...I just recall buying a Canon XL1 a few years ago, and NOT being able to use it because it was PAL format...and had to get rid of it and grab a NTSC format cam...

  • Your original question related to power 110 -v- 220 and i chose to draw your attention toward the import tax issue. i presumed that you were already aware of the NTSC -v- PAL systems. You seem to be remarkably ill-informed for someone who's seriously considering buying equipment from overseas. I presume that you have sourced a PAL machine in the US? If that is the case, then you only issue is import tax and a UK plug.

  • whats the difference between them?can i not use ntsc in europe?just wondering..

  • Is the hdrsr12e noisey (off putting in quiet situations)or quiet when you switch it on or start recording? What's the quality of the zoom after 12x, when you use digital zoom?

  • Hey, I've recently decided to buy an HD HDD camcorder. Now i am not new to technology and know most of the pro's and con's of the top of the line camcorders. I just wanted an outside view on which one is best. I have always loved sony and I am leaning towards one of they're SR cameras. Preferably the SR11 (SR12 to expensive). So i am choosing between the Sony SR11, Panasonic HDC HS9, and the Canon HV30 vixia. please respond with advice.

  • definitely SR11, save up some more for the SR12 though bro its worth it.

  • ok very cool camera but please tell me how is it capturing with USB cable in sted of fire ware?

  • i like this cam!

  • i like the review.. now im going to think about buying the HDRSR12 it is the SONY brand and the hoighest price and last top range so far. with 120GB. It is a defently a high definition video camera of course.. I dont quite understand the review guy on video actually said its not a high definition when its infact a YES.

  • There is also the HDR-SR11 Which is basicly the same thing, but it costs less because less storage. like up to 7 hours or somthing.

  • does it record at 24p if it is its cool

  • £11.99p cheap as chips!!

  • lol

  • i want to know about its slow motion capabilities

that is the only reason i want a camera

does this camera have good slow mohigh frames per second capture rates?

  • from what the product description says, it can up the frame rate to 240 fps and maintain that for 3 seconds, therefore making the 3 second shot 12 seconds long. I'm not sure if it can keep it up for more than 3 seconds...

  • thank you

    i love slow motion-its awesome

i think 3 secs is enough cause thats like 720 frames and we see at 22 frames per second so its sufficient

    :)

  • its sufficient yes, but correction, "we" (people) see at hundreds of frames per second.

  • we see at hundreds of frames per second but our brains can only process a limited amount.

it is a very tricky question to answer

"how many frames per second do we see?"

  • well I have heard of pilots training flashing airplane images at them at 1/200 of a second and being able to process and identify that, so thats impressive.

  • but they are pilots, which means that they are chosen because of their above average abilities that are required; there brain being able to process more data is one of these abilities

  • I am considering this camera (as it's Sony & is packed with featurea) or should I get the JVC HD7? :-)

  • Excellent camcorder! Full HD 1920x1080i 60. Love it!

  • $1,199???? where??? it's $1,499 at regular places (Sony, Amazo, etc)

  • Does this have 24p which makes footage look more "professional"?

  • Its avchd, 16mb/s, 60i. The canon equivalent have the 24p and 30p modes as well.

  • Is the Canon HF10 the first consumer camcorder that does a real 1920x1080 at 30p?

  • Is this 1920x1080 at 30p? 24p? 25p? 50p? 60p? 60i?
