@happyjessus It is "White light from the mouth of infinity". It isn't currently available but it is one of most of the songs from White Light and Love of Life included on Various Failures, a compilation (it is actually the lead song) , only missing 5 songs from the above mentioned two albums. If you buy it from Young Gog Records website-signed by Michael Gira-really!, From Swans official site-signed by Jarboe-really! Rocking double CD, get it now... :-)

@andinoble i'll see you there man! first time ive ever been able to see them (assuming they dont check im 17) but im hoping so much that they live up to the HUGE expectations in my head^
@dr3behemoth Yeah, I've seen them a few times but this time, after 13 years the expectations are pretty huge for me too. Every time has been different and this time, not having heard the new album except the "demos" on Michael Gira's "I am not Insane" CD and having seen Angels of Light only once and him at an acoustic concert I can't really imagine - except I am sure it'll be pretty special...expect the unexpected I guess. See you there...
Swans help me cope with the absurdity of the United States foreign policy expenditures in Israel and the complete corruption of the Media. Framing is a reality. The Evangelical Christians are pawns, Atheist Gays are pawns, its all a gay. No worries though, focus on the tertiary issues, legalization of marijuana and hording material acquisitions to become apathetic towards the absolute insanity of life and the in authenticity of modern man.
i always wish there was more bass at the end of this song......there was an anti-bass trend there in the 80s, as far as production values........didn't quite get it.......regardless i love this song and overjoyed the swans are reuniting.
I remember someone telling me about a concert in Vera Groningen(early eighties) that was so loud that the complete audience had to leave!Their pants were being blown away, literally!
yeah, that's what they were known for. michael gira said that, when there were 100 people at a show - which was a huge crowd for them back then - after 2 songs 80 of them would have left guaranteed.
It is true, other people told me they were deaf for weeks, but I think that is the other songs - like 'Hanging', 'Beautiful Child', 'Screw' - 'Filth', 'Blind' and 'Greed' albums... GOD - MIchael Gira is!
I have only heard the actual recordings of the early era- Swans (never had the privilege to see them at a show because of my young age) but there are lots of stories about shows where people have ran from because of nausea caused by the loud low-end amps of Swans
@SpamNapkin I've listened to Swans for about 20 years and never found them psychedelic. Also, even though this video has images of the band and some album art it's not an official video. The video clips I recognize are from that Jennifer Lopez movie "The Cell".
@Zenistential I've always said the same thing. If I want psychedelic, I go to Legendary Pink Dots or certain Coil CDs, not the Swans. I've also listened to them for probably at least 20 years and I put on the Swans for its emotional rush and it can be blissful and inspiring, yet sobering at the same time. Other songs are more painful, but let you find the light at the end of its vivid, dark tunnel.

you never thougt anything brother liste to this iggy fan cous i love you brother its the strongest you ever heard you word heeeeeeeeaaaarrrrddd !!!!!:-))))))))))))))
I'll always remember the first review of The Swans I ever read. It said, "Imagine if Johnny Cash went on a monthlong bender of Jack Daniels, LSD, and horse tranquilizers. Now imagine what kind of music he'd write while on that bender, and you'd get a pretty accurate picture of the Swans' sound." I've been hooked ever since.
I still cannot believe i first found white light in the mouth of infinity in a walmart almost 10 years ago. for only 2 bucks and of all places! quite a sychronicity, considering it was an old interview in thrasher magazine with henry rollins that lead me to buy it.
in the interview, rollins mentioned he'd quit Spin because they edited his writings and because they gave a swans album(it didn't say which one) a bad review and called up gira to tell him he quit the mag because of that!
Damnit now I love Henry Rollins ten times more because of that! Thanks for relating that story. Spin magazine was always mainstream to the bone anyway. Yeah, it took me like a year to find White Light back in '91 or whenever.
Felicidades! Muy buena la canción y muy bueno el video.A ver para cuando una reedición del disco en el que aparece la canción: "White Light from the Mouth of Infinity"
Pure masterpiece

If I didn't know any better I'd say this is some pretty pretentious art rock that has been done better by Lou Reed.
