  • I think this is very good and wonderfully appropriate to the character of the music. (I did not make theorbo, either!)

  • Does anyone know where I can find this piece transcribed to standard notation? I would like to be able to transpose it for the classical guitar. Any help would be appreciated much. Thankyou.

  • "Let's talk of graves, of worms, and epitaphs;

    Make dust our paper and with rainy eyes

    Write sorrow on the bosom of the earth,

    Let's choose executors and talk of wills:

    And yet not so, for what can we bequeath

    Save our deposed bodies to the ground?"

  • I'm a little bit for guitarist but I love so much the theorbo and its magical sounds :)

  • BACH

  • magnifique,ce devrait etre un modele

  • whom is that wonderful piece of music written for? his wife (+1721)?

  • For his two little daughters who died very young.

  • "Mesdemoiselles de Vizée" were the two daughters of the composer which died low aged probably during an epidemic disease. An only son survived and succeed Robert De Visée as guitar teacher of the king. This piece titled "Tombeau" (Tomb) is an instrumental composition corresponding to John Dowland's "Teares" or some Opera's lamenti.

  • To some place where I can find the score of that work.?Beautiful music.

    Thank's;

  • Mesdemoiselles

  • Bedachstsam... Besten Dank.

  • This is Hopkinson Smith playing theorbo, from an Astree recording circa1979.
