Man, Spookies trailer. This is the first I have seen it, and I have it on VHS. I was a teenager throughout much of the 80s, and as several people have said, they don't make them like this anymore. But starting with Friday The 13th, that when the big boom of horror films in the 80s started.
God I get such a hard-on for practical effects (well done practical effects anyway). Give me a decent mask,make-up job, animatronic, puppet or stop motion model any day. CGI can look great, don't get me wrong, but only if there's a big budget behind it. Otherwise, go back to practical you numbnuts! I'd rather see something that looks tangible, if a little hokey, than something from a fucking video game!
They give away everything in trailers now, it's like watching the entire film. But All of these were pretty long, yet I still wasn't quite sure of the plots of the ones I haven't seen. THAT is how you make a movie trailer...
i love 80's horrow films. to me its the most unique and trend setting era for the genre. also i was born during that decade and im nostalgic for the old stuff. i love how it looks and the scary monsters and everything. the box art for some of those films are even scary.
Man I love 80's horror films! The trailers back then were so spoiler heavy but SO fun to watch! It had a lot to do with the guys doing the voice overs on the trailers, they always said the corniest stuff! But for some reason it always made every trailer that much more interesting & fun to watch. It takes a true horror fan to appreciate all trailers from the good old days. Back then trailers made you excited to see the movies. This is an excellent vid Darron!! Fav'd my friend! :)
It's a tired cliche, but they truly don't make them like they used to!! In fact, it was the trailers and promos on video tapes that twisted our fragile minds as kids to seek out this stuff. Better still were the video covers and cover art, which were 100 times better back in those days.

@AussieRoadshow Sorry Aussie I just didnt see the point since its an all killed film. They might had well had bared their necks and said slice at the start and saved the viewer the trouble but it certainly wasnt as horrible as April fools day.
I watched Spookies again recently. Man it's so bad it's great! Hope you find that old tape soon. I'll keep my eyes peeled in my secret local sources :)
I watched SNDN2 last night some 20 years after first seeing it. It is quite a nasty piece of work for what it's worth. No wonder it was banned in Queensland!! I think the UK banned it as well.
Oh no. 0:58, the attack of the farting monsters.

Do you have the the courage to see . . . Demons?
Yes, yes I do. I even have the courage to buy the director's cut for Demons and its sequel.

I enjoyed watching Spookies again. It's so bad it's fantastic.
I tell you one 80s flick that still holds up well is Pumpkinhead. Watched it again after nearly 20 years and it's still great entertainment.

Hey, mate - awesome stuff.
Spookies...hahaha.
Demons music...I think the music by Rick Springfield is probably just as scarry as
the film. ;-)
SNDL - gotta get that dvd. I think it's available as a double feature.
Cheers.
