Having gone through a music fundamentals class, and knowing some of the intricacies of musical composition, I can really appreciate what the composer did to make us love this music. IT MAKES ME LOVE THIS SOUNDTRACK SO MUCH MORE! :D
this soundtrack is by far my favorite in the game. and i like most of the soundtracks, so that really says a lot. it really made the game for me. listening to this soundtrack makes me think "what a great game" it really is magical

I'm talking about magic, I'm talking about poetry and hapiness ! Beautiful musics, stories that make you travel...
For this reasons, I think that Nintendo is the video game equivalent of Disney, and that's why I repeat :

Here, think about this: with this kind of music, video games will be the new opera. This is on par with, if not miles beyond, the writers of the classical era. Every person who owns a CD of Beethoven or Mozart should have this CD sitting right next to it. This is emotion and beauty. This is what all music should be like.

@SKITRYM I know this is extremely long after the fact but way, way back I said I was saving up for a PS3 because as is the unfortunate state of gaming not every game worth experiencing is on just one console. And you said you were saving up for one, too! Well, after seven long months I finally got my PS3 back in January and now I have LittleBigPlanet, Mirror's Edge, SoulCalibur IV, 3D Dot Game Heroes, Flower, Pac-man CE DX, and Scott Pilgrim: The Game and I'm so happy I got it. If people wonder why I prefer the Nintendo Wii over most consoles is I'll tell you this. The Xbox 360 was the first next gen console I owned. I played Halo 3, Fallout 3, Bioshock (would have preferred System Shock 3), ODST, Halo Wars, Fable 2, ect ect for quite a while. I got bored of them all very fast and I play games like Ultima 1. I then got the Nintendo Wii, I now know what was missing.
I was finally playing GAMES again. So much fun it feels illegal.
i like this song very much, but sometimes i just hate it because it was on SMG2 on "The Perfect Run". That galaxy was really irritating.Man that level really convinced me that Nintendo knows what the word hard means.

@TinyHouse123 Not just that. I mean, even when people think that they fail in the graphics catagory, Nintendo always seems to surprise everyone with the graphics of their first party games. Mario, Zelda and all the others always get the best treatment.

@ClubPenguinStevie422 The tracks I have uploaded are exactly as they are on the CD. The Platinum edition comes with this same CD plus an extra CD with some more songs and jingles (like the Fire/Ice/Flying Mario theme, ball rolling theme, boss battle themes, etc).
This is just amazing. I find it incredible that games such as Mario and Final Fantasy put so much effort in producing such wonderful pieces of art. This really is what video game music should sound like! This song just takes me away and makes me forget my problems. Love it!

@EmpGrevious I totally agree. Gaming shouldn't be about choosing sides. Everyone has their own preferences of course and will naturally lean toward one console and one genre or another (I will always be a Nintendo/RPG loving kid deep down) but what gaming is really about is right in the name. The game. Gaming is about the game and judging a game by the experience of it independent of its console or genre. If it were about the consoles it would be called "consoling" which doesn't sound as fun :P

I wrongly thought this a Koji Kondo composition for some time. Now, though, I can quite clearly see that it is a Mahito Yokota piece. Really doesn't sound like Kondo at all. Regardless, it's an amazing video game song.
@LanceNLT most console games today in general don't try to appeal to the hardcore gamer. Nintendo has been able to cash in on this trend as they diversify their ideas about console gaming. Most of the lineup that you have stated, the level of difficulty is somewhat nonexistant and that is how Nintendo wants it. They want you to be able to play a game for an hour and feel like you've done something. Most hardcore gaming in my own 1996-2004 opinion has shifted to MMO format.
@awtodor I'd have to agree, though since most gamers (and people) don't place their priorities into MMOs, the shift in "hardcore" gaming to a "casual," or really, a mix of the two, is I think a natural one.

You know it's really sad how unappreciated this song is. How unappreciated this soundtrack is! Just like the Halo CE soundtrack, the Oblivion soundtrack, the... well, the Kirby 64 soundtrack, they are all neglected of how beautiful the songs really are. It's not just Halo, Oblivion, or Kirby 64 either, there are many soundtracks that need attention, just like this one. Hopefully one day these songs will become very popular, and well, appreciated. I'm sorry, but I have to disagree. Let's all face it, they were amazing back then. They had some beautiful titles out, but when Gamecube came out, they changed. They no longer were competing with Sega, they had to focus on 1-uping Microsoft and Sony. Due to this, a lot of quality really dropped, trying to par other games without focusing on just upgrading their own game. And you will have to agree, they really don't listen to their fanbase. At all. Not a lot of companies do....

@sethisawesome That's not entirely true, actually. They're worried about upsetting their fans and thus losing money, but they don't LISTEN to their fanbase. Notice how the increasing complaints about Pokemon generations 3, 4 and now 5 have been ignored. It also never accepts suggestions from its fans, otherwise you're completely right!
that's true of most gaming companies. I guess it's because a lot of fanbases are fragmented, so catering to the whole fanbase is near impossible, and catering to one section of the fanbase alienates everyone else. the sonic franchise is an example where listening to the fans made thing worse. fans asked for sonic to stop being "kiddy" and to be more "mature", and as a result, we got shadow the hedgehog and sonic 06. when they finally started doing their own thing, we got sonic colors.
Oh boy, where do I start? Ok, say, we want music as good as AC original in ACCF, right? We post in their forums, right? Well look what we got. We want a Pikmin 3 and um... yeah. Ohh, my favorite one. If you haven't noticed, in every game of theirs recently, they leave a key thing out. Why? They know we want it, they knew before they released the game. But they'll put it in the next, or maybe the one after that? Why? Because it'll bring us to their next. It's marketing.

pikmin 3 is in development. they aren't releasing any info now, because when brawl came out, there was a huge backlash because it didn't live up to hype. nintendo has said that, in future, they will not release info on new games until development is complete. as for ACCF, as lazy as that game was, is it possible that they didn't have time to replace the whole soundtrack in time for release? maybe it was late in production and they couldn't change this stuff without causing delays, I don't know.

Ive got a Ps3 and 360, but by far Ive bought Wii games the most. Its such a varied library of stuff and there are gems like this to be found. As a fan of platformers first and foremost, theres really only one console that still knows how to do it, as this proves.
This is why I love Nintendo's music. Many modern games have soundtracks that desperately tries to be epic and while it works great while you're playing it leaves no lasting impression once you turn the game off. But once you've heard one of these songs just once you will never forget it, it's pure art!

@zhzhzh5 Actually, Mario was not started out as a children's cartoon, that show was made from the first two games, SMB 1&2, Of course these studios NEVER get it right when making video game based shows/movies.
Plus, the SMB game is really addictive now, which I can then see it was much more popular in the 80's.
To tell the truth, Mario was always the best series of games ever made.

@ClubPenguinStevie422 The tracks I have uploaded are exactly as they are on the CD. The Platinum edition comes with this same CD plus an extra CD with some more songs and jingles (like the Fire/Ice/Flying Mario theme, ball rolling theme, boss battle themes, etc).

This is just amazing. I find it incredible that games such as Mario and Final Fantasy put so much effort in producing such wonderful pieces of art. This really is what video game music should sound like! This song just takes me away and makes me forget my problems. Love it!

@EmpGrevious I totally agree. Gaming shouldn't be about choosing sides. Everyone has their own preferences of course and will naturally lean toward one console and one genre or another (I will always be a Nintendo/RPG loving kid deep down) but what gaming is really about is right in the name. The game. Gaming is about the game and judging a game by the experience of it independent of its console or genre. If it were about the consoles it would be called "consoling" which doesn't sound as fun :P

I wrongly thought this a Koji Kondo composition for some time. Now, though, I can quite clearly see that it is a Mahito Yokota piece. Really doesn't sound like Kondo at all. Regardless, it's an amazing video game song.

@LanceNLT most console games today in general don't try to appeal to the hardcore gamer. Nintendo has been able to cash in on this trend as they diversify their ideas about console gaming. Most of the lineup that you have stated, the level of difficulty is somewhat nonexistant and that is how Nintendo wants it. They want you to be able to play a game for an hour and feel like you've done something. Most hardcore gaming in my own 1996-2004 opinion has shifted to MMO format.

@awtodor I'd have to agree, though since most gamers (and people) don't place their priorities into MMOs, the shift in "hardcore" gaming to a "casual," or really, a mix of the two, is I think a natural one.

You know it's really sad how unappreciated this song is. How unappreciated this soundtrack is! Just like the Halo CE soundtrack, the Oblivion soundtrack, the... well, the Kirby 64 soundtrack, they are all neglected of how beautiful the songs really are. It's not just Halo, Oblivion, or Kirby 64 either, there are many soundtracks that need attention, just like this one. Hopefully one day these songs will become very popular, and well, appreciated. Wouldn't you agree?

I'm sorry, but I have to disagree. Let's all face it, they were amazing back then. They had some beautiful titles out, but when Gamecube came out, they changed. They no longer were competing with Sega, they had to focus on 1-uping Microsoft and Sony. Due to this, a lot of quality really dropped, trying to par other games without focusing on just upgrading their own game. And you will have to agree, they really don't listen to their fanbase. At all. Not a lot of companies do....

@sethisawesome That's not entirely true, actually. They're worried about upsetting their fans and thus losing money, but they don't LISTEN to their fanbase. Notice how the increasing complaints about Pokemon generations 3, 4 and now 5 have been ignored. It also never accepts suggestions from its fans, otherwise you're completely right!

that's true of most gaming companies. I guess it's because a lot of fanbases are fragmented, so catering to the whole fanbase is near impossible, and catering to one section of the fanbase alienates everyone else. the sonic franchise is an example where listening to the fans made thing worse. fans asked for sonic to stop being "kiddy" and to be more "mature", and as a result, we got shadow the hedgehog and sonic 06. when they finally started doing their own thing, we got sonic colors.

pikmin 3 is in development. they aren't releasing any info now, because when brawl came out, there was a huge backlash because it didn't live up to hype. nintendo has said that, in future, they will not release info on new games until development is complete. as for ACCF, as lazy as that game was, is it possible that they didn't have time to replace the whole soundtrack in time for release? maybe it was late in production and they couldn't change this stuff without causing delays, I don't know.

I'm not totally saying that ninty DOES listen to fans, I just don't think it's fair for fans to jump to conclusions because THEY don't get what THEY want. die hard fans of anything often overestimate the importance of their own demographic - maybe nintendo is trying to market games to other groups of people. after all, how many people bought the first two pikmin games?

Ive got a Ps3 and 360, but by far Ive bought Wii games the most. Its such a varied library of stuff and there are gems like this to be found. As a fan of platformers first and foremost, theres really only one console that still knows how to do it, as this proves.

This is why I love Nintendo's music. Many modern games have soundtracks that desperately tries to be epic and while it works great while you're playing it leaves no lasting impression once you turn the game off. But once you've heard one of these songs just once you will never forget it, it's pure art!

@zhzhzh5 Actually, Mario was not started out as a children's cartoon, that show was made from the first two games, SMB 1&2, Of course these studios NEVER get it right when making video game based shows/movies.
Plus, the SMB game is really addictive now, which I can then see it was much more popular in the 80's.
To tell the truth, Mario was always the best series of games ever made.

Super Mario Bros the original videogame came way first and they just wanted to make a cartoon that had mario in it, because mario bros was an auwsome videogame, they thought that if a cartoon had mario in it, they could have kids watch it, then make more money.
