Tommy Overstreet was the artist who originally recorded this song. Tommy Oliver covered it shortly after it became an international hit for Tommy Overstreet. Tommy Oliver re-recorded it in 2007 for his album "Grootste Treffers" CDCJ022 (Stetson Music)
Another great story teller (really on a 1973 roll tonight). Not so surprising - you usually get a good story with country music. Ahhh true BFE (none or this farting, snoring yadda, yadda) ahhhh :o)
I played in Germany with MY Country Band "Cheyenne" from 1980-83! We played all OVER Germany. I booked us from Frankfurt to Fulda. I was here when Tommy came to Germany. I was stationed at Freidberg /Ray Barracks in Elvis Presleys unit. 1/32 Armor "Bandits"!!!!!
This performance was actually recorded in Wiesbaden, Germany, in February 1982. I was in the audience and I still remember Tommy's performance very well. It was part of a show called "It's Country Time", hosted by German singer Freddy Quinn. There was a rerun of the show in 1986.
Tommy invited my folks & I to a dinner show, during Fan Fair, where I worked crowd control for him. The guest artist was Jerry Wallace, along with Tommy & his niece. After the show Tommy signed autographs & posed for pictures. Like Marty Robbins, he never left untill all pix were taken & autographs signed, which was past 4am
I'm looking for a song by Tommy about a young wife who looks like a little girl. It's not perverted or anything, he just says "ain't she a picture of sunshine, ain't she a vision in blue jeans" have No Idea what the name of that song is but I WANT it. Help:)
It's called "That's When My Woman Begins" I was friends w/ TO in the 70s & 80s.Worked as crowd control during Fan Fair week in Nashville & went to his home in Brentwood TN. for dinner a few times. He had a band called The Nashville Express. Smiley Roberts played pedal steel & was the comedian.
Yes a geat song, but what do you think about "Send me no roses" and "Dream maker" ? :-))
I listened to Tommy's song since 20 years. someone bringed me a rp from nashville and since i tried to find some cd in France. Not easy believe me ! :-D
For me, this is Tommy's signature song even though I love all his other songs. It sounds like it's written just for him. He has such a warm and pleasant voice. Wow, he and the musicians and background singers look fantastic - just like entertainers should look. Thank you for posting this. - Paula

Any one out there with more Tommy Overstreet music/videos? He was in Branson Mo for many yrs performing... surely someone has videos of this great talent...
Please...more Tommy Overstreet music! I saw him in concert back in the early '80's and his show was fantastic! He interacted with the audience, did several hours and lots of encores! A true entertainer!
I spent most of yesterday transferring my large collection of Tommy's LPs onto CDs. I was reminded how much I enjoyed his music and what a great ballad singer he is! He can sing other peoples hits better than they can!
Tommy was a good singer and very attractive , that Kenny look at the right time. But more than either of these, he is a talent when it comes to writing. Would love to see more of this man. Tommy is now living in Oragon with his second wife of 23 yrs. His first wife lasted 23 yrs . Born in Ok, raised in Tex. Give us more of Overstreet...
Got to see Tommy back in the 70s in Grand Junction. Colorado, at the Cafe Caravan, really put on a good show.
