  • If it's like the CD-i, you can pop off the rubber band and use two slim screwdrivers to tease the rubber band over the two wheels; job done. You can't damage your system doing this; have a go. If you've any doubt, post pics on my forum and i'll advise!

    I opened it up and look at it. Thing is, I can't easily access the elastic. I put a thread on your forums about it.

  • I have a similar issue with my model 1 sega cd where it is having issues with the drive closing. Or should I say that the tray closes just fine, but the assembly that holds the disk won't rise up all the way; therefore it just spits the disc out. I can manually turn the cog to raise the disk assembly up manually. Because of this, I'm 90% sure it's the same rubber band you replaced in this cd-i

    I'm just too much of a chicken to try replacing it for fear I might mess it up even more.
