the thing that made this game hard was the amount of just random things that would come out without warning. like u jump down just to land on spikes u cant avoid unless you knew they was there. the game wasnt meant to be beat fast, it was a game you had to memorize and make your own route

@NovaWolf01 Yes. Most definitions of speed run involve beating a game as fast as possible. Doesn't matter how you get there, just get it done as fast as you can. A 100% speed run would involve beating every stage, and that's another fairly common type of speed run.

I didn't know you could get a stick in the Intruder Excluder, nor did I know you could destroy the gas dispensers and fans. An easy level just got WAAYYY easier. >:P Too bad you can't use the stick against Robo-Manus, though, because he's been known to kill me several times when I fight him.

Could Tradewest have made this game *any* less fun to it's target audience of young kids? I mean, the majority of the people I've discussed this game with always said they'd get stuck on the hoverbikes... and that was *only* the 3rd damned stage. Imagine if they had made it further in and seen how stupidly hard some of these later stages were.

See that's what this game was all about. Trial and error, and memorizing the correct route. There were so many concepts I didn't get while playing as a kid. One for example, you don't have to kill EVERY SINGLE bad guy. I guess I was OCD.

You need the pole. That is why they give it to you only at the beginning of the level. It's an added challenge holding onto it throughout the level. Remember that the only way to destroy the remanence of those two legged robots from the first level was when you had the pole (the legs of the robot)?

Fantastic work on the Terra Tubes level, that damn place is regarded as one of the TOUGHEST levels ever in gaming history. So many ways you can be one-shotted.

This game succeeds on so many levels in the difficulty department, it is winnable, but it doesn't take cheap shots to impede your progress (unavoidable damage/deaths), and it isn't artificially toughened (Call of Duty's respawning enemy chokepoints).

Looking at these later levels, it occurs to me that there *is* a way to beat them, or at least get through with a minimum of hassle...but you gotta learn it, and you gotta do it for EVERY level.

Terra Tubes, in particular, is just unbelievable. *Every* danger in it is instant death and your moves have to be completely sure and precise. Not exactly Super Mario Bros., eh?
