yeah of course it was. its a 400m track, ive been on the track personally last summer after it was laid.

well im notaware of any super human male athlete that can run 800m in under 50 seconds microsoftindesign, i think ur prob thinking of the 400m runners and getting confused between the two events. sure they can run in uder 50 seconds but this race here is an 800m race which is around a 2min race for female athletes.. so to answer ur original question, it is a standard 400m track yeah.

Yes, heptathlon is the most spectular discipline IMO. Either you're gifted or you're an exceptionally strong (both morally & physically) and all-around athlete. It's stupefying!
