  • Amazing! Please visit my channel as well.

  • In those days candles were made from beef tallow, not wax. It was perfectly OK to feed it to the little mouse.

  • I liked watching this Christmas cartoon! Thank you for sharing this with everyone. Merry Christmas to you and I hope you have a Happy New Year!

  • I'm curious .. . what's that movie with some old guy fighting Demons/Trolls/whatever they were and he had to get the toys he made but were later stolen and yet to get them to give to all the people down the town below?

What movie was that? Also apparently a tree nature king person wants to make him immortal also.

  • @shamii1 ...uhmm... what?

  • @shamii1 The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus. It's a Rankin-Bass special.

  • I love the graphics of this. I remember when my son was little, I had a video of old Christmas tales and this was on it. Enjoy the simplicity of it--it's a bit preachy but I still like it. Thanks for posting!

  • @lorinhl everyones preaching something.

  • there was a VHS tape that had variouse christmas themed cartoons on it, this one was included on it also, i used to have that tape but it was soo long ago i may have got rid of it long ago. IF ANYONE HAS THE INFO ON WHAT THE TAPE WAS CALLED OR EVEN WHERE I COULD FIND IT, I WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATIVE!!

  • @mematt665 I had this on a christmas cartoon collection VHS when I was little, and I'm pretty sure I still have it in a box somewhere. If the tape you're remembering has a white cover with santa and Rudolph on the front (I think the first cartoon was the Rudolph one) then i could find out what it was called for you.

  • @illethereal If you do manage to find the video, please, PLEASE inform us as to the title. I had a tape with a while bunch of vintage videos on it when I was a kid and i lost it a while back. It would really mean a lot to me if I knew the title and/or the videos! Thanks!

  • For anyone interested, I have determined that the theme song from this cartoon is the piece "In Dulci Jubilo", a really beautiful song of which a great version was done by Mike Oldfield. Check it out.

  • @treetoptop I know MIke Oldfield from The Exorcist ... that;s quite a stretch!

  • @XmasFLIX Yep, that's him and what he was best known for. He has quite an extensive catalog. You can find "In Dublio Jubilo" right here on youtube. It is a really interesting video, with many Mikes spliced in playing all the instruments.

  • @treetoptop - Or take a look at the Choir of King's College version. Beautiful.

  • ...Why is the boy feeding the mouse candle-wax? that can't be healthy for him.

  • @AlbinoTanuki : Candles back in the day were made of tallow (animal fats) or beeswax, rather than paraffin which mice wouldn't eat anyway.

  • @AlbinoTanuki Candles were most likely made from beeswax which would be somewhat edible to mice. Besides, mice eat anything. lol

  • Hilarious Christian Nonsense

  • This cartoon was produced by "Halas & Batchelor", the same studio responsable for "Dodo the Kid From Outer Space".

  • thanks for posting this! i have it on tape cassette, but i don't have a vcr that plays them any more

  • This short is by Halas & Batchelor whom also produced/directed "Animal Farm" (1954) and the "Captain Sternn" segment in "Heavy Metal" (1981).

  • @Jal8919536 i didn't know that---they're brilliant.

  • @jackie7610 the information is noted in the text under the video. Enjoy!
