I'm curious .. . what's that movie with some old guy fighting Demons/Trolls/whatever they were and he had to get the toys he made but were later stolen and yet to get them to give to all the people down the town below?

What movie was that? Also apparently a tree nature king person wants to make him immortal also.

I love the graphics of this. I remember when my son was little, I had a video of old Christmas tales and this was on it. Enjoy the simplicity of it--it's a bit preachy but I still like it. Thanks for posting!

there was a VHS tape that had variouse christmas themed cartoons on it, this one was included on it also, i used to have that tape but it was soo long ago i may have got rid of it long ago. IF ANYONE HAS THE INFO ON WHAT THE TAPE WAS CALLED OR EVEN WHERE I COULD FIND IT, I WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATIVE!!

@mematt665 I had this on a christmas cartoon collection VHS when I was little, and I'm pretty sure I still have it in a box somewhere. If the tape you're remembering has a white cover with santa and Rudolph on the front (I think the first cartoon was the Rudolph one) then i could find out what it was called for you.

@XmasFLIX Yep, that's him and what he was best known for. He has quite an extensive catalog. You can find "In Dublio Jubilo" right here on youtube. It is a really interesting video, with many Mikes spliced in playing all the instruments.

@AlbinoTanuki : Candles back in the day were made of tallow (animal fats) or beeswax, rather than paraffin which mice wouldn't eat anyway.

This short is by Halas & Batchelor whom also produced/directed "Animal Farm" (1954) and the "Captain Sternn" segment in "Heavy Metal" (1981).

Bravo...makes one think of and appreciate Christmas past which was simpler but things are a bit closer to that this year with the recession......well,it's all about sharing memories isn't it really.....it's been a short year though
