its quite a nice idea from the authors to put a french title for Jay's video but its false cause "morte" means "dead" for a girl in french. For a boy, its the word "mort" which is used... oh well...
why are there 2 dislikes for this? i seriously can't see why someone would, not only not like this video, but go through the time and effort to click "dislike". have you no souls?
Thanks for uploading this. Always one of my favorite Critic moments. I especially lawled the first time when the Kool-Aid man burst through the wall, and at the end when the girl gets his name wrong and you can see Sherman's feet tighten.
well can someone tell me the exactly name of this song? is not dies irae from Veri or Mozart obviously so people plz be more specific when you say " oh is dies irae " xD. Plz help me cause this piece sound terrific =P
Films Referenced: The Battleship Potempkin (odessa steps), Lawrence Of Arabia, Steamboat Willie (original Mickey Mouse cartoon) King Kong, Singin' In The Rain, Dr. Strangelove, Films of Ingmar Bergman & Federico Fellini. TV Shows: Laugh-In, The Gong Show (Dancing dummies), America's Funniest Home Videos. Music: The End Of "A Day In The Life" by The Beatles (Final Track on Sgt. Peppers).
There isn't really a name for it, the song I mean. In the commentary, the creators said that they taped the audio while watching a live choir performance(german,eastern-euro,something like that, I forget) and decided to use it, even though they realized that they didn't know its name or have rights to it, lol. ^^ But I love it too.
This was one of my favorite moments in The Critic. By the way. What exactly did Jay pilfer to make this? I notice he parodied Singing in The Rain when hanging from the light pole. THe first shot of the staircase was from Battleship Potemkin. The second shot of the figures on the hill was from The Seventh Seal. Then there is the kool-aid man and King Kong as well.
Look at Jay's toes wiggle at the end.

I never understood the message Jay's student film was trying to convery. My favorite part is the Kool Aid Man + Explosion.

This little piece won the Golden Bear and La Palme d'or. Unfortunately it didn't win an Oscar, stupid academy.

There's also a parody of the Simpsons and Fassbinder as well. Plus Cocteau and French art in general.
