This is truly a beautiful stretch of road. Ice and snow make for an old, dirty, crow. If you know what I mean. I love life and I love myself. I hope we can all forgive and be merry but if this doesn't happen than we will have to make do with what we have. A one man circus only runs half as smooth. Remember that! I love you and I love everyone.
I know it's sad, but I estimated the length of this track and then looked on Napster. My guess is that it is the Belgian soprano Greta de Reyghere (Naxos). Any other guesses?
if you have winters like in switzerland here down next to zurich city, then you'll understand why some people don't like winter that much. It's friggin cold and worse, it rains! No snow. Snow is only in the mountains or a few days in the valley sometime around january.
Absolutely gorgeous, both the music and the video. If you can still enjoy snow by March in Chicago, you're doin' great! I'm usually fed up with it by early February, and I have to escape to Mexico. Glad you told us where it was - I was wracking my brain. I could tell it was Cook Cty from the forest preserve signs, but then I was stumped.
just in from the garden where it's 90+ and just as much humidity. o, how i miss winter. i just don't understand all the winter haters. anyway, this video is better than central air conditioning. thanks for the cool down.
word up. laudate dominum is my favorite mozart piece and i pull it out on my commutes regularly, its why bose stereo soundsystems were invented. nice vid.
A 75 minute commute is looonnnggggg, anyways another cool idea like this is to timelapse your commute from when you pull out of your parking spot to when you pull into your destination.:
You need to get an sdjustable tripod so you can put the camera in the seat next to you. I enjoy snow, except when it screws traffic on 294, but I can't say I miss it. It'll be back next year. In the mean time, time for motorcycle season.
LOL I imagine you got pretty tired or repeating the name of the music piece. Beautiful vid and the music was perfect although I do like the suggestion from the guy who said to use Slayer ;)
This was a truly wonderful video. It almost made me my eyes well up with tears, and I felt like I was right there watching that beautiful drive. (sniff) Thank you.
Nice. I love snow & winter too. My favorite is when the trees are frosted and covered with snow like that. Although after 7-8 months of it in Alaska you really learn to love summers :P
That actually looks like a nice ride in. Down here in Florida, we don't get winter. Instead, we get 3 months I have to put on a sweater. I miss the snow; thanks for sharing.
Ok, but who's the director of that specific interpretation? I found one from Kiri Te Kanawa very similar, but I'm not sure it's the same... Please Aimee, help!
Honestly, I don't actually know. It was on a mix CD a friend made for me. And when I totaled my car, it was in the dash and couldn't be gotten out, so now I don't even have a copy of it! I wish someone DID know! :)
WOOOOOOOOOOW! Mozart Forever! That man was incredible. That Requiem made my hair stand up (is this expression too formal? I'm just an english student...). Which movemet is that one, Aimee? allegro, andante... It seeems a spanish tv ad campaing for BMW ... slogan: "Do you like driving?" Excellent. In that campaig the music and landscape is accompanied with the image of the drivers hand slowly moving, like the waves... like in "a different story" movie by David Lynch. Suppose it was too cold!
Wow you wrote back. I love winter and when it's gone. It rained here the other night. When My Sheepdog and I went for our nightly walk, I got a whiff of summer. I can't wait.
Well, it might be 60 in LA but it's about 75 down here in Miami. Better hope gas doesn't get to much more expensive otherwise you'll be driving a Vespa back and forth to work.
That stretch of road is awesome anytime of the year. I like late afternoon midsummer. The thick forest and overhanging trees makes you feel like you're traveling down a tunnel.
Yeah, I hate it when people tease us in Hawaii complaining about it being 55 degrees out here and 40 degrees near Mauna Kea caus it is -30 or whatever where they are.
Hello, most homes in Hawaii don't have heating systems and My house is not insulated and have jealouses windows so when it is 45-55 degrees outside it is 45-55 degrees in the house.
wow, you have over 15 more minutes of commute time. I enjoy the "me" time to think about life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. :-) I can't imagine how gorgeous your drive would look during the seasonal changes. Thanks for sharing.
oh, for real. i like to stop on my way home a lot and just sit and listen. there's a lot of wildlife out here.. i frequently see deer and coyote, and the other day i almost couldn't pass through because there were WILD TURKEYS in the road. a half dozen of them. i never saw anything like it before. :)
Wow small world.. Umm if ya can check for a "Home Run Pizza" restrauntfor me.. I use to go there for pizza. I think it was on Cicero, <SP> If the place is still there try it.. Les
I live in Orang County and used to work in Los Angeles. The drive was only 32 miles, and on a rainy day it would take me 2hrs just to get to work. When there was no traffic (very rarely), I would drive 65mph, turn of my radio, pull down the window, and listen to the wind...
HA! I should have gave you my Turbo Coupe T-bird.. we could also enjoyed the song of the Turbo.. Just kidding! Lol! Pretty Cool Amiee! (Smile) Your in-car is a bunch better then mine!
wow.. im jealous.. that does look like a beautiful drive... i would love a season change once in awhile.. i live in Orange County, Ca.. stays mostly the same.
Geez, I wouldn't want to arrive at work after driving that gorgeous journey. How do you break out of the spell that road must put you under, in order to 'snap back into reality' when you get to work? Thanks for sharing - beautiful, just beautiful.
oh, well, right were the video ends is where the junkyards begin and all the traffic, and i have about twenty minutes of that before i get there and have to smile at people. :)
how come ya got de cloudy cold, snowy cool weather, and we got de hot sunny damned HELL weather? LOL hate de music.. lol am sorry amieee plz dun hate me .. but i realllly hate dat music LOL alright alright lets get real. i love dis video.. its like walking in de path of destiny.. ma goddd i love de snow.. never touched it b4 LOL
i can't stand the heat. it makes me melt. :) i had a friend from jamaica once who had never seen snow before he moved to chicago. he FROZE that season... he was ALWAYS cold. we kept buying him hats.
I always miss the snow as well, most people can't wait for summer, but I throughly enjoy every aspect of all the seasons, winter being my favorite.
That road is also great, I have a very old wooded road like that around here that I drive on every day and it looks amazing after a snowfall, of course living in the smallest state it never lasts long and driving for 75 minutes would put me completely into Massachusetts or Connecticut haha.
ha. that always amazed me, how people out east just travel to the next state to do this thing or that thing, like i go to the next town. (usually it seemed they did it for driver's licenses or to avoid stupid liquor laws. )
I am insanely jealous of you right now! I live in TX so I've never actually seen that much snow before. If it does snow here in Dallas, its only like 2 inches and it only lasts for a few days. So in conclusion....I hate you... :)

i love snow! but yeah, this was probably our last real snow of the season, and it had melted all away by the time i got out for lunch, four hours after i shot this. just pretty.

Where was this filmed? It is actually quite good considering the circumstances under which it was filmed:)
I lived in far northern Wisconsin for 17 years of my life; I also laugh at whiners that say, "Oh my God it is so cold down here in Indiana!"
