Am I the only one who noticed that when Thor enters at 5:38, it says "Hjem, hjem, kaere hjem" on the door? That means "Home, home, sweet home". That's an awesome detail!
Before you bother responding to the first uploader comment I made here, know that it was a response to a comment made here a long time ago. I KNOW what Loki is the freaking god of, so don't bother trying to lecture me. Thanks.
Life in Asgard certainly wasn't all that godlike was it? Or maybe the Greek gods atop their mountain were just putting on airs by ancient deity standards?
@Packie1984 dont think it means anything. if i translated the runes right (with the elder futhark) it says "hsem dsem ksaere hsem" and based on what i know of old norse, i'm pretty sure it doesnt translate to anything. its probably just a creative liberty
Haha im danish so I understand the language. I wached this all the time at my best frieds house as a child. All of the characters in this movie has great personality.
The part at 6:27, when Thor is trying to entertain his child, reminds me of the part in Disney's Hercules when Zeus is trying to entertain baby Herucles.
@banmen0w Loki's title = The god of mischief. What have you been reading? Or do you base youre asumption on the american movie "Thor" which only in name has relation to asatro and all likeness ends there..?
@tulapi123 Actually he's not offically named as the god of anything in either the Prose Edda or the Poetic Edda, as far as I remember from my reading of them. It could be argued that he's not technically a god at all, since he's not an Aesir or Vanir but alot of sources suggest he's a fire god (which makes little sense in my opinion, considering he's a jotun but w/e). It's not really conclusive either way, but whatever the case he's still awesome. :D
@Offertory Surt is the Fire God/Fire Jötun, Loki has shared blood with Odin, and is therefore **considered** (Please Notice) aesir. The vanirs that was exchanged with the aesir, was also considered as aesir, though they were actually vanir, and by that maybe even Elfs, and by that maybe only godlike, it's not known if vanirs were just elfs with more godlike powers, so if Frey, Freya and Njord was considered as aesir, so must Loki, and so must he have a title of some kind...
@mrvulox I agree with you; I personally don't see how Loki would be a fire god, but alot of sources I've read tend to suggest that he is. I'm sure he does have a title, I just don't recall an "official" one named in either of the Eddas. Also yes, he is considered an Aesir because he was adopted as Odin's "blood-brother" but he's not a member of the Aesir bloodline at all. I mean, I'm not a scholar of Norse Mythology so I could be wrong on this. Feel free to prove me wrong. lol :)
@Offertory Well I've almost just begun reading about it, so I only got some facts which covers the most of it briefly. what I'm trying to say is, I'm niether a scholar in it, so I could as well be wrong, and as it is only mythology. There's no facit, it's what people believed in... But now as I said, the vanir was niether of the aesir blood-line, anyways Freya is considered aesir. So Loki could b a fire god, he could be a trickster's god. It's believe after all, and we can't know all about past.
Hihi the song which is playing when Quark is pulling out the pacifiers sounds like a childrens song for sinterklaas :P (im from the netherlands)
Daar wordt aan de deur geklopt hard geklopt zacht geklopt... (translation: there is knocking on the door hard knocking soft knocking). It's funny to hear it in a clip like this :)
Besides that it's fun to see a vid like this. Right now I'm in Oslo for an study exchange and I get to know the culture a bit more because of this :) Tak
@VibeyTheVibrator He is quite a nasty character in the myths:He gets Balder, the god of light, killed by betraying him, and he is the parent of 3 monsters: the Midgard Serpent, the Fenris wolf and Hel, the goddess of death. He himself is half giant, half god. At one point, he is punished by the gods in a like way to Prometheus: He is bound beneath a snake dripping acid-like venom on him.His wife Sigyn holds a bowl under the venom, but every time she turns around to empty it, the venom burns him.
at 7:00 those are some ghetto pacifiers

@Offertory Gods of mischief is not the title other gods use when they refer to Loke, it is bestowed by mortals.
