  • I heard from the history channel and they mentioned this place and said there were 22 freight elevators

  • You REALLY need a better cam (or a bright flashlight) That camera is terrible..

  • Well, it didn't work out well for me at all! I WAS DETAINED AND THROWN OUT! I got some dude's face in my video of the passenger express elevators, and he reported me to security, even after apologizing and promising to edit him out of the video! I was detained for 10 minutes, and the guy wanted security to take my camera and delete the pictures! Thankfully, they didn't, and I told them it was illegal and I would call the cops if they did. In the end, the store security director just threw me out

  • I saw some old freighters over by the express elevators here a few years ago. I don't think this is by the express elevators though.

  • @FGelevators The ones by the express elevators r the old passengers. I really wanted to film those, but only 1 of them was on the floor, it was full of things, i could not even walk in, and the door was chained with a lock, and a security officer was looking right at it.

  • always ask permission.

  • @andersonvillas1277 This one was so easy to get on. If a guard was waiting, I would have taken it back up, cuz he cant open the doors, cuz im the operator. On old elevators, its like that. There arent even buttons outside if its manually operated.

  • @elevatortimes cool!

  • Was this easy to get on? Also I think u need to upgrade your camera or bring a flashlight :)

  • @dieselducy im definitely going to try for this and other manual elevators in the store when i head up there (and i will soon, later in the summer on a weekday probably to avoid the crowds) and the TX10 does pretty good in low light from what i've seen. and i have a flashlight and keep it on me always when filming

  • @ih8thyssenkrupp This was very easy to get on, i mean there were no signs, and its not even a stockroom. U go in a hall, make a left, and its right there, hardly anyone uses it. There is a hidden camera and they r watched cuz the manager started following me when I was done. So be careful. Also, plz go for the old passengers, cuz I was too scared to go for those, one thing was the doors were chained with a lock and a guard was looking right at it.

  • @elevatortimes ok im going tomorrow. i'll try and remember all this. btw sorry i had ya blocked on skype i unblocked ya.

  • @ih8thyssenkrupp Thanks for unblocking me. Let me know how it went tomorrow and try to get on those old passengers if u can. I would love to see those.

  • @ih8thyssenkrupp GOOD looking 4ward 2 ur take!

  • @dieselducy ill be sure to get there next week or the week after. i want to head up too believe me.

  • @ih8thyssenkrupp can u plz mention that i requested...

  • @dieselducy sure thing!

  • and about your description, those gurney manual passenger elevators near the express ones probably aren't the only manual passengers in the store, the other portions of the store probably have them too because they were all built at different times, and with different elevator brands.

  • @ih8thyssenkrupp I went over the entire store and did not find anymore elevators. They might be hidden in other stockrooms. There are a lot of stockrooms, so maybe there r more old passengers.

  • @elevatortimes i guess they're well hidden. i'll try and find them. i saw thru the windows on the street ones that they are parked in the basement. i'd really want to get a gurney since gurney is rare, so i'll try for the ones in the gurney part of the building. not like this isn't bad. i also want to figure out what brands other parts of the building has, we're all wondering...

  • NO WAIT those are OLD ass peelle doors i can tell by the shape of the exterior label these are peelle not st. louis fire. strange thing is the other freights with peelle i found are gurney, since they are near the express elevators. again, there's still the part of the building with security doors, and idk what those could be. so this portion of the building has otis, and we still have alot more parts of the building to film old freights in that probably have a variety of different brands

  • @ih8thyssenkrupp Im not in NYC anymore so i cant check out anymore freighters. When u go in the store, head towards the passenger elevators. On the way, u will find the purses and womens section i believe it is. U will see a continuing path heading to the stockroom that does not have any double doors. There it is then.

  • @elevatortimes which passengers, the local or express? the part of the building with the express ones has gurney. if this is near the local ones then the local ones are very likely OTIS. btw the freights with security doors are in a part of the building far from any public elevators, so i'd want to see what that part has as far as the brand goes. if you were to look on 35 street behind the store you'd see the freights that go up to the street. i'll head up on a weekday soon to avoid a big crowd

  • so this part of the building has otis, the part near the express passengers is gurney, and who knows what the other parts have. the freights with peelle and security that go up to the street have 20,000 pound capacities according to NYC buildings. i'd rather get those next time i head up here. was this in the middle of the store? where exactly was it so i can get a good idea as to what part of the building used otis

  • those are st. louis fire doors. there are a bunch of portions of the building that were built different times, so wherever this is that part of the store used otis, and the part where the express passenger elevators are used gurney, and there are a few more portions we havent covered. the freights that go up to the street have security and peelle doors, the ones with peelle look to be in the gurney part of the building, the security is in another part and probably is a different brand.
