  • Thumbs up if you found this through south park

  • this lady can sing...........it's so wrong to put this beautiful voice & song with such a tragic event...........

  • Just one thing though Cervezasi .. Titanic is a true story ...

I always adored this song and her other great disaster movie theme "We'll never love like this again" ....

  • Good song, from not only the best disaster movie, but one of the Greatest movies of any genre ever made.

  • brings back bad memories of choir....

  • This song captures a time so clearly. Thanks for sharing.

  • WHY ARE THE CHAIRS BOLTED TO THE FLOOR??

  • @johnsmisek02 For stormy weather, safety, I'm guessing.

  • gonna need about tree fiddy

  • Any way to Make a cover video with the Costa Concordia pictures in the background?

  • Unforgettable song and singer, and the best version ever of this film ...

  • this reminds me of the Towering Inferno song, "We may never love like this again". For some reason, I don't know why.

  • @jeffs1000 I think it was written by the same people and it was also sung by Maureen McGovern in almost the exact same context.

  • @jeffs1000 That's because Maureen performed that song as well.

  • the backwards version is better.

  • I also like it song backwards ;)

  • I remember that this song had been released right before there was a bad tornado in our town with some fatalities.Every time I hear it,I remember how it looked and how a lot of people actually had hope listening to it, when this was played on the local stations.

  • Every time I hear this song it always reminds me of The ORIGINAL Posidon adventure. Great film. One of Leslie Neilsons few serious roles. Thanks for posting this

  • Me acuerdo que esta pelicula la vi en el cine Republica en Lima Peru...que tiempos aquellos..

  • this song makes me feel special

  • Can you make this video available on mobile???!!!

  • Did I ever tell you about the time I saw the Loch Ness Monster?

  • Award winning song from a wonderful movie that I saw in 1975 just as a Government imposed Hollywood movie import embargo had ended. The version on the soundtrack was sung by Renée Armand, though Maureen McGovern had a big hit with the song.

  • the loch ness monster disliked this video 15 times, but it will like this video if you give it tree fiddy

  • Hack Man!

  • 1:10 Who's butt is Gene Hackman pushing/grabbing?

  • I love Shelley Winters in this movie, her death scene, very touching.

  • @dramaticguy I agree

  • play this song backwards to kill a succubus

  • GREAT SONG and GREAT MOVIE--Gene Hackman was awesome at portraying the Reverend, Frank Scott. Both, the song and the movie, deserve more FAME.

Please look at this INSPIRATIONAL song entitled--GOD IS GOOD EVEN IF

Just Enter: mark behrens (in the search field)

Oh yes, please subscribe to my channel for future songs--THANKS.

  • @MarkB1812 God is good? Why does God allow terrorism, disease, famine etc etc Don't say to me God is good where is your proof?

  • I saw this when it came out and it was fantastic. I never cared to even watch Titanic.

  • This makes me all wet!

  • I love this video for 3 reasons. 1.) It's sung by Maureen McGovern who I have personally met on several occassions and her voice will always be the only voice I want to hear sing this song. 2.) The editing of the boat capsizing to "The Morning After" on this video is to me superior to any other "Morning After" video showing scenes from the movie (the ORIGINAL.) 3.) The movie "Beyond The Poseidon Adventure" and the awful re-make from a few years back sucked in every way! There's no comparison.

  • @craismith1 You know you suck, right??

  • Where's the live performance of this tune? That sucks, Maureen!

  • I preffer the movie versions song.

  • one of the radio stations here played this song several times the evening of 9/11 made me cry!

  • Good song

  • A true classic movie

  • @daclasic14eva All the remakes stunk. Haven't you figured out yet not to mess with a classic?

  • i came here because of King of the Hill!!!!

  • Never seen south park but i do like king of the hill.

  • @barnabas50 Yeah I saw that episode just tonight again, thats what brought me here.

  • he always played it straight.it wasn't until years later(AIRPLANE) that he did comedy.

  • Strange to see Leslie Nielsen in a non-comedic role.

  • CRINGE WORTHY

  • 12 people don't like sliding around on their ass!

  • just watched "sucubus" think its spelt like that

  • Maureen hit #1 in Billboard, 8-14-73. Makes me wonder if Carol Lynley even TRIED to sing it, before Renee Armand was called in for Carol to lip-synch to? God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx!

  • This song:a real tearjerker. Makes me cry every time.

  • Thumbs up if King of the Hill is better than South Park, and you came here because of Kahn's beautiful rendition of this song.

  • @DLbrooks87 Nope, came here cause of South Park, which is better than King of the Hill, by the way.

  • @BeybladinKayleen relax guy. both are genius.

  • @DLbrooks87 Suck a dick boy cos South Park's alot better than king of the Hill.

  • @DLbrooks87 nothing is better than south park u sado

  • Shelly Winters may have but on weight but she still had great legs.

  • How could you go wrong with Shelly Winters!!!!!!!

    Manny!!!!!

  • great classic movie and a wonderful song many thanks

  • The 70's rocked!

  • How many ways this movie defeated "Titanic"

    1. Better Cast

    2. Better Theme Song

    3. Better Story

    4. Better cinemetography

    5. Better story

  • @Cervezasi Agree, but show some respect, Titanic was real... :(

  • @Cervezasi 6. Poseidon didn't sink; just flipped over.

  • @Cervezasi 1. Correct.

    2. Incorrect (this sucks).

    3. Incorrect (it's based off a real event, so how can it be that much of a different story?)

    4. Incorrect (this is freaking 1972 vs 1997)

    5. Incorrect, again.

  • @Cervezasi But not so many Oscars

  • @Cervezasi AMEN!!!!

  • @Cervezasi

Really? Better cinematography? Sure, they were limited by their time, but did you see how those people fell "sideways"

  • @Cervezasi Shut your mouth, you stupid bitch.

  • @emlodik Woah! Watch out, we got a badass over here!

  • @Cervezasi And you can watch the whole thing without a bathroom break !!!

  • "HIT IT" - Master Betty brought me here.

  • Thumbs up if Kahn Soupanousenphone brought you here!

  • I always thought "Poseidon Adventure" was a mediocre/OK movie at best until I saw james cameron's "movie" titanic in which I realized what an absolute masterpiece Poseidon Adventure was IN COMPARISON to utter harlequin trash of james cameron's "movie" titanic......

  • I fell in love with Pamela Sue Martin after seeing this movie.

  • beautiful sound, beautiful music

  • Thumbs up if you came here for the Poseidon Adventure!

  • A succubus is a demon from hell sent to suck the life out of men

  • It's a goddamned Succubus!!! Succubus trying to take my baby!!! Now listen here Succubus, we work hard for our money, u cant take Chef!! Hang on, lemme see if I have three fifty!! God Dang it woman, dont be offering the Succubus no tree fitty!!! At least start at a buck two five or something!!!

  • Beautiful song. Thank you for the partage.

  • One of the best songs ever. From a movie and or anything. I remember this movie and I remember this song. Both were fantastic.

  • nice tits, stella. too bad gene didn't rip her blouse open when she fell to her death in this movie.

  • So Kitsch but love it!

  • kung pow

  • we can do it. we can survive this poseidon adventure

  • This is such a precious, beautiful song. Thank you for posting it here. What a sad story though! Glad it's fictional.

  • If you sing this backwards will it upright an overturned ship?

  • Apparently you can defeat a succubus if you sing this backwards.

  • Simpsons did it!

  • pre titanic good 70s classic great song

  • Eternal. I respect the new version but this will be in my heart as unforgettable, with this beautiful song in Maureen's amazing voice and interpretation, it became emblematic of a decade and my best youthful dreams .

Thanks for putting this here , it means a lot to me...

  • How I Met Your Mother ^^ Korean Elvis

  • t love this song!!!! is so great

  • 0:59 Cartwheel!

  • Someone needs to upload this song backwards just in case a succubus comes after me because right now I have no defense!

  • Doesn't anyone LISTEN to this song and absorb the healing symphony it broadcasts? This gives hope, not obama or democrats. I mean listen to the Harp being played at the beginning. What beautiful music. Try to find that instrument in music of today. You won't! Many of you just miss the happiness and encouragement. And that is just too bad.

  • @HHH100 ...Well Said !!!!!

  • @HHH100 It's very inspirational

  • EXCELENTE PELÍCULA QUE MARCÓ MI EXISTENCIA PORQUE DURANTE NUESTRA VIDA VAMOS A TENER MUCHOS PROBLEMAS, PERO DEBEMOS TENER EL VALOR DE SUPERARLOS CON PERSEVERANCIA.

  • looks like a Carnival cruise

  • At 1:23 her dive is funny.

  • @marcosmarinheiro You do know she died in the movie, right.

  • I just saw a Asian guy sing this on King of the Hill...it was soo funny! And usually I don't even like King of the Hill.

  • I said "I ain't giving you no 3 fiddy you goddam Loch Ness monster"

    "SHE GAVE HIM A DOLLAR!"

  • Thanks, Abercrombieguy!

Great song! Now I can't stop singing it

  • What does a BLACK WOMAN do the MORNING AFTER?

    a take a shower

b take a birth control pill

c pray to god she didnt sleep with the homeless guy sitting on her lawn

  • @teehonky even Racist jokes have to be clever, mate. This is just dumb

  • @blingadingading or just the person reading something they DONT UNDERSTAND...mate

  • @teehonky the fact that your sentence makes no sense in relation to my comment, is grammatically incorrect and poorly punctuated, helps prove that; you are clearly not clever and your jokes aren't either. End of conversation, even racist jokes are beyond your level, so you are wasting people's time answering this.

  • I remember this song and movie so well!!

  • @danbeatless Yes I do to Dan, thanks for posting.:)

  • @LovingHandOfRose It takes me back to high scohool!

  • Has anyone else noticed how Shelley Winters dies in every film she makes. Weird!

  • @MisterBlue24

and Ernest Borgnine lives! He usually dies. Also Nancy Drew and the guys from Willy Wonka survive too.

  • @MisterBlue24 she didnt die in Alfie ( 1966 version not the rubbish 2004 version)

  • @matelot321 Yeah, but no one in their right mind would sleep with Michael Caine, so she might as well have been dead.

  • I keep wanting to put the word "pill" right after the title phrase.

  • @lesorciercalifornien

    ok now that's too funny.

I was all choked up from some childhood longing, and you brought me back, lolol

  • I totally sang this at karaoke two weeks ago. I got a lot of confused looks

  • I came here because I heard about it and wanted to listen to it.. do I win?

  • @iswmfastr Oh my GOD ITS A SUCCUBUS!

  • @iswmfastr i'm here because of the jewish karaoke from family guy

  • @iswmfastr - I came because of "King of the Hill". So do I thumbs up or just move along. Move along? Okay. Hey, nice vest!

  • I used to have a crush on Carol Lynley when I was a kid.

  • Good job! Thank you for posting it. I loved this movie as a kid.

  • XD south park episode. Succubus!

  • I loved this movie and song when I was a kid. Had the song on a 45 back then.

  • I just saw her performed in Rochester, NY, a few days ago, and boy, can she belt it out! She is a superb vocalist. The enunciation and expression in her singing is a joy to hear! She looks great at the age of 62 and I personally think she looks better today than she did when she was younger. Her voice is perfect for dramatic songs like this. Her powerful voice gives hope with a tinge of the foreboding tragedies in the movies' plots. I am still moved by her singing 35 years later!

  • An uplifting and loved song. Thank you for putting this up.

  • Light the for lookin' on keep let's sunshine

The find to chance a have we night

The through on hold can we If after

Morning a be to got there's

Warm and safe that's place a find and together

Bridge the cross we don't why storm

  • Linda/ Stella Steven's is just beautiful. I cried at her death sence.

  • We have to sing this song backwards to destroy the Succubus!

  • saw it when it came out, great movie I felt terrible when shelley did'nt make it . In an interview she stated that she really made that dive under water and had to learn to hold her breath. That was an amazing thing she did to make a movie took real balls she absolutely should have got the Oscar for this part!

  • one of those unforgattable songs, how many good memories?

  • Really great song for a great movie. Of course my favorite babe Carol Lynley is in it too which helps.

  • Please, please let's not have a cover of this or any other song by Lady Gaga or anybody else. The original versions are just perfect as they are.

  • @VintageVideoFan

    what a faggot

  • @VintageVideoFan yes, I agree, a great movie, Gene Hackman is acting great!

  • Excelente canción, simplemente sensacional interpretación....

  • this is the succubus song :D

  • great song by a greater performer and a great (at the time) movie. too bad that now it just sits on some shelf collecting dust. wouldn't it be great if someone from this time could re-make this song so that a new generation of people could discover it? some one who is extremely talented? someone like great Lady Gaga!!! the magic that she could do with this song is OMG unlimited!!! just my opinion. KISSES!!

  • Never saw the movie when I was a kid and always used to mock the song like I'm doing now.

  • one of the worst movies i have ever seen. watch it backwards

  • Shelly Winters was actually a very beautiful woman in the day and she was in this film, too.

  • @WilliamDRowlett And Shelley Winters should have won the Oscar for her magnificent performance in Poseidon Adventure.

  • Love how the Red Buttons and Carol Lynley characters hook up over the course of the story. He saves her life several times over, and she responds. Without the disaster, they'd never have spoken a word to each other.

  • Good thing that the two really pretty girls, Pamela Sue Martin and Carole Lynley, were among the survivors.

  • There's not gonna be a morning after! Die! Die!

  • @Rumours7791 You are right with those two!

  • my second names mcgovern :))

  • Question: Is there a song more instantaneously associated with a movie than this? Hard to think of one.

  • Great movie and to think it was extremely effective without the "help" of today's special effects. GREAT SONG. MISS THE GOOD OL' DAYS.

  • I've always liked the song, but I've never seen the movie in its entirety. Now I'll have to go to Netflix and see if they have it. Almost looks like a prototype for the 1997 movie Titanic only slightly cheesier. That one gal who dives into the water reminds me of Kathy Bates.

  • @belladeballe Believe me, 1997's Titanic did not come close to the original. The original was GREAT!!!! By the way, the Kathy Bates "look alike" was Shelly Winters. Excellent actress as well.

  • @gooboo1000 wtf are you talking about? Titanic was a true story you idiot; Poseidon was ficton

  • @segerfan Correction, POSEIDON ADVENTURE of yesteryear was a thousand times better than the one that surfaced (no pun intended) several years ago. I'm very well aware of the true story of THE TITANiC and the MOVIE of the SAME NAME. Also understand that The Poseidon Adventure was fiction. And as regards being an idiot, FICTION is spelled with an I. Your post made me laught!!!! Be well.

  • @gooboo1000 dude My Heart Will Go On is still more famous than this piece of shit song; so stfu you worthless asshole

  • @gooboo1000 Agree!!! Today’s music and movies suck the big one! Titanic was a lame ass queer movie and that song in the movie sounds like a broken record which repeats like indigestion. Gives me a headache listening to it. The writer of that song does not know music whatsoever. Then again the mutants of America like Britney. Feed the people dog food and they get used to it eventually and ask for more....Why do you think RAP music exists? LMAO

  • Comment removed

  • @gooboo1000 -- When you say "Titanic original", which movie do you mean? There was one called "Titanic" from 1953 (American film), and another called "A Night To Remember" (later 1950s, British film). Are you referring to one of those? They were both very good.

  • @57highland I meant the original "Poseidon" as opposed to the "Poseidon" that came out several years ago. I am also aware of all the Titanic based movies.

  • @gooboo1000 -- Yes, I heard that the recent "Poseidon" was truly a "disaster" film. Gosh, this song sounds so good after all these many years and so much bad music recently.
