  • seriously man, they need more space!!

  • @pspeas

seriously, if you knew about tarantulas...they don't require a lot of space to survive well. In the wild 100% of the time, you see them in small burrows.

  • @Jon3800 yea i know...i live in chile and if you go up the mountain, youll see alot of tarantulas here, and not all of them are in a cave!! they are walking around...In my opinion they need more space, not because the "professionals" say they dont need that much space dosnt mean its true!!(sorry for bad english)

  • @pspeas

Tarantulas are blind animals so they don't really benefit from larger cages.. I have a G.rosea in a large 5 gallon glass tank, and she barely uses a 1/3 of it. Plus I do have over 120 tarantulas and Its expensive here to use large terrariums. Most of them here go for over $50. Most Tarantulas that you saw wandering around are likely mature males trying to find a mate. It's very rare that you'll female tarantulas walking out in the open.

  • @Jon3800 ok...are you sure they are blind?? I got a G. porteri in a 100x30x40 terrarium..maybe the terras are expensive!! My Tarantula is pretty active...Maybe you are right!! They must be Males...

  • @pspeas

Because all of their 8 eyes are clustered together, they're not blind per say... more like near sighted... they can probably see a few centimeters in front of them before it's blurry

  • @Jon3800 wow..and if they cant see that much..how do they catch the Insekts so fast..I mean they are very fast, even if they are behind them?! Thanks for the Info

  • @pspeas

they pick up vibrations using their hair

  • @pspeas HAHA yeah.. call out the kid with 130 Ts

  • @Jaredr781 ???

  • What types of insects do you feed your tarantulas other than crickets and superworms, and how often should you change it up? Thanks! :)

  • @grhmrnddh

just crickets and superworms. I never change it up. They seem to like it

  • @pacholito24

If you haven't seen most of the newer videos I do have a Poecilotheria metallica. I had 2 at one point, If you remember I loaned off my mature male leaving me with only a juvenile female. Their rare but not rare compared to smithi or hanumavilasumica

  • @Jon3800 Damn,dude u have so much cool videos i cant rememeber which i watched :-)

I assume u are goign to mate when he female matures?

  • @pacholito24

LOL, I actually featured her in feeding video 73, not the new feeding video I posted yesterday. Well the male will long gone before she even matures (she molted into 3'' recently). I will definitely try mating them if I have any luck finding a mature male. That's the problem, there's so few of them in Canada. I loaned off that MM to someone, hopefully his female drops a sac.

  • @Jon3800 yea i read that they are CR endagereed in the wild :-(.

I hope that that male survuves the mating process :)

so you will get some slings if tha female produces a sac?thats nice!

  • @RPatZxxx

They're good for beginners. However they're a species I wouldn't plan on handling because they are nervous

  • Hi could you tell me about the way the tigerrump grabs and eats it's food? it's for a school project :P Thank you!

  • @LisBlond

They will attack very similar to the one's shown in the video (I do have a lot of feeding videos in on my tarantula feeding video playlist, im scheduled to post 58 this week)

Tarantulas grab food with the feelers and chelicerae. They bite the prey and give an injection of venom from their fangs. The venom's enzymes work by liquefy their food and they all they do is to suck it up.

  • wow your fucking... kick ass i wish i could have that many

  • I think they're repulsive, but your passion for them is infectious... Do your thing son! :)

  • im thinking about getting a versacolor what substrate would u recomend

  • @herpdude122

potting soil. Be sure to mix it with a spoonful of vermiculite

  • @Jon3800 thank you

  • COOL xD

  • Don't listen to 0151pri88 he is a dick. Great videos thanks a ton!

  • i think your the one who needs putting in a nut house, weirdo

  • why, because I'm passionate over a hobby? Get real bro. What do you have?

  • @Jon3800 i have a mexican red knee coming soon i love tarantula's cool collection man

  • @0151pri88

    dude he's not weird

he likes his tarantulas and has a jaw dropping collection

    just leave the guy alone

i have one tarantula but i also have 3 cats so i cant keep many Ts

  • would the light bother her?

  • most Tarantulas hate light, most will tend to run away from it.

  • cheers bud also how long shud i leave her once she has fed to handler her

  • few hours

  • do i have to keep a rose hair under a heat lamp?

  • no. You don't need heat lamps or mats. They are more than comfortable at room temperature

  • alright dude,

i just got my first tarantula yesterday its a grammastola rosea i got one coz i was told they are good for beginners and very docile, but then i saw your video and iam now bit worried to handle mine, what do i need to do to find out if she is evil or not lol

  • use a paintbrush and lightly prod the abdomen and if you get a negative response from her, then I wouldn't handle it.

I wouldn't call G.roseas very docile, they're more mild mannered. Brachypelma albopilosum, Avicularia avicularia and the Eupalaestrus genus are very docile

  • how often do you feed your ts to get such a fierce feeding response

  • usually 2 weeks. I document my feedings here on youtube, so whenever you see a new feeding video, that's when I feed them. Even tho I record some Ts, I feed all at the same time.

  • heyy. nice spiders. i am going to get a chilean rose soon, just wondering how long does it take the to grow to full size from a spiderling, do you recomend i get a fully grown one or a spiderling? thanks.

  • As slings, they take a good 5-8 years to fully grow. For real slow growing species, I recommend buying adults

  • lol u hav warhammer monolith amd i need a the vid to feed Lasiodora parahybana

  • i think he sheed yearstday will i was at school

  • how many crickets shound i feed my baba ymexain red rumb? and he shed to today

  • if it recently molted, wait a couple of days before you attempt to feed it as the fangs needs to harden.

If its like an inch, a nice size adult cricket a week should suffice

  • Hey thanks again for the fast reply's and info. I had one more question tho. You said you feed you T's once every ten days. Is that what i should do with my pink toe? Cuz right now there are about five crickets with her...

  • I give them about 2-3 crickets each, I think 5 is a bit too much

  • What is bad about putting too many crickets in the aquarium? and how do I care for the crickets? Will they live in a paper bag(with food) for a few days?

  • too much food stresses the tarantulas. Get a big tall plastic bin, add egg cartons as hiding places, add dried food, lettuce, potatoes and carrots as food

  • cool. have u any feeding video's u could send me of your cobalt blue plz?

  • see feeding video 13.

  • cheers mate.

  • how often do u feed each of ur T's?

  • every 10 days

  • For some reason i'm completely scared of everything you own. I have one question and that is are you ever scared that a poisonous Spider or Scorpian will get loose and eat you in your room? (I'm guessing it's your room because i see a bed. :P

Btw Keep it up dude and i'm sorry you got hacked Andy

  • Hi Andy.

While I am afraid if a venomous spider does come lose, a tarantula cannot eat nor kill a human.

And yup, my bedroom is also my tarantula room

  • man u got some sweet videos and tarantulas :)

  • i have a Grammostola rosea and shes nothing like your phyco 1 (thank god). iv had her for about 3 days and wenever i put crickets in she dosnt eat them. i just find dead crickets t5hat havnt been attacked. why wont she eat right in front of me like yours? great vid! :)

  • its probably its personality really. My Babycurus jacksoni scorpions are the same way, never eat in front of the camera.

Yours could possibly be in premolt, but im not sure, I'd have to see it

  • Wow, P. metallica has the teleporting of a funnel weaver. That was one hungry tiger rump.

  • thanks

  • What do you do with the spiders do you keep them forever?

  • yes

  • how the fuck can he rember all them names

  • I remember them well

  • awesome dude nice spiders

  • thanks :)

  • wow your Poecilotheria metallica is like hper-speed

  • most of my arboreals are :)

  • do you have any more t,'s in your sights that you want but not got yet

  • theres a couple like C.crawshayi, A.metallica, B.emilia, and b.pallidum x vagans

  • found out why my spider wasnt eating . . . . it was ready to moult i sat there and watched it last night at like 3am it was a slow prosses but i ciuldnt take my eyes off it ha ha ha s i will leave it a few days and hopefully it will be a pig like before

  • just leave it be for a week, then resume feeding, make sure he gets plenty of water

  • its ok for you there alot dearer over in england ha ha ha ha you should check out my snake vids not many but al be putting alot more on soon;)

  • ill do that

  • nice one mate i just got a goliath bird eater shes beautifull you wouldnt think i usde to hate spiders how much did your collection cost

  • congrats, my collection's worth at least $4000-5000 since it does include the famous gooty sapphire ornamental

  • so how long ca it go for before it croaks

  • really depends on the type of species and sex you're talking about. An example...Mexican red knee (Brachypelma smithi) females can live up to 30 years, males 5-6. Males are only used for breeding purposes which is way males are really cheap

  • hey man cool vid im a new comer to spiders am a snake keeper myself used to be petrified of them but got over my fear i got a male adult chilean rose but its not ate in about 2-3 weeks but ate like a pig before that is there anythin to worry about

  • yes its normal, roses are picky eaters, they choose when they want to eat

  • i subbed , 5/5 video

  • Thanks, I'll return the favor :)

  • that is one of the best one's i seen yet.. My son and me watch this and he said you are crazy and i think so to lol But i love watching you feed them thanks for your time to make the videos for us to watch

  • my pleasure. I posted a fresh one yesterday

  • to many tarantulas!!!

  • yup

  • So you are able to keep them from getting lost in your room as opposed to doing this in your closed bathroom?

  • As long as you don't spook them, they won't take off

  • When making alot of these videos, you seem pretty confident that they wont shoot out of the top of the enclosure when you have the tops off. Is this something that they just wont do?

  • They do, that emerald skeleton nearly took off when after I fed her

  • At what size your B. vagans started to get its colors. I have one vagans and it's around 4cmLS and it's still grey like a sling. :D

    Thanks for your answer.

  • roughly at the 2 inch mark

  • That was fast. :D Thanks

Great, so I'll see some color at the next molt. B. vagans are prob ones that show color when they are already quite big. But they look awesome.

    Great T's, once more. :D

  • no probs

  • It only happened once to me, that T bolted out of enlosure when I opened it. If you don't startle them, they usually just sit there and wait for food to drop in. :D

Cool vid Jon, hope to see more of your vids in future. :)

  • I will, more to come, I have a molting video in the works

  • great vid man

  • Thanks man, now I can make awesome longer T feeding videos without rushing :)
