4:03 I gotta say, I kinda like this scene a bit better. I don't know about the rest of you, but I would expect Ash not to go down or be captured without a fight.
No mention of Annie. They replaced her reciting the passages with Ash doing it just like how they nix'd three of the original characters between TED and DbD.
They were idiots for taking all this out. The only one they could do without was the Intro. everything else gave us more story like what LukeMM95 said about the Windmill scene gave Ash a solid reason for smashing the mirror.
Personally, I think they should have kept in the extended introduction to Arthur and the extended windmill scene. With the Arthur scene, we get more of Ash being a badass and the windmill scene gives him a proper reason to smash that mirror.
I seem to remember the tv version having a longer version of the S-Mart ending. Does it, or am I just imagining things? If so, is it on the PS Edition?
@ManiacLord654 Yeah and some of those deleted ones like the windmill scenes,id need to watch it again to see all what ive got but i think its some kind of fan edit.
@RhodesLives I may already have the one you're talking about. Is it the Primitive Screwhead Edition? That's the most complete version I've found but I could have sworn one of the TV version had a few extra scenes in the S-mart part that aren't on any other cut I've found. I could be wrong though.
@ManiacLord654 It could be,it was actually a friend that gave me it in exchange from the return of the living dead workprint,i do have it also on vhs with both ending included but none of the cut scenes.
@TheMultiOtherman The deleted scenes which appear in workprint quality (like on standard editions) have been cleaned up frame by frame as much as possible. They will never be perfect, but this is about as good as they’re going to look and sound until better quality material is made available. PS : I'm not the author of this creation. I'm just someone who wants to show the hard work of this guy.
Army of Darkness is one of my all time favorite Comedy/Horror movies ever (along with House 1, 2 , 4, High Spirits and Elvira: Mistress of the Dark). It's funny that people still don't know what "Comedy/Horror" means. This film was fantastic. Visual effects were great. Bruce Campbell showed brilliant acting 4 this kind of films. Embeth Davidtz was awesome. Other characters (Wiseman, Duke the Red, Possessed Witch) were no less inpressive. My lovely Bridget Fonda deserved more screen time though
Ironically, the TV cut (not including the censorship) is by far the best out there.
The scene where Ash leaves the windmill to check on his horse should NEVER be absent from any version. It's shot wonderfully, the music is fantastic, and it helps the following scene with the mini Ashes make more sense.
@Skull10 I agree with you pal.The same goes to the last scene where Ash recruits Henry The Red.I mean,Henry was right in why would he endanger his people and himself to save his enemy?I don't think a Soldier under Arthur would be able to persuade Henry The Red to fight with them.Even Ash has to use Henry's debt on him to persuade Henry. If only Ash can persuade Henry without using Henry's debt on him but with "you might even resolve the conflict between you and Arthur".It will be a Heroic scene.
@Skull10 It's a F-A-N-E-D-I-T, it's not a official release, it's not to your supermarket ! If you want, you can print a cover and burn the files on a blank DVD.
@Skull10 I hear ya I mean I wish we would get a complete proper AOD release, but unfortunately there's been nothing spectacular since the "Boomstick" Dvd release.
The thing with the fanmade version though is that it incorporates footage from AOD only found on the sci-fi channel version, which strangely enough never showed up in any AOD DVD release. I still have some hope though
@redeemer61190 I was highly disappointed in the "Boomstick" edition because the added footage in the director's cut looked like a bad working print, changed "I'm the guy with the gun" to "I'm not that good" and omits the "Chinese jet pilot" line! (Even Sam now admits "I'm the guy with the gun" was the better line.)
I have always been baffled why the syndicated TV version includes footage that never appears in either the theatrical or director's cut and is longer than both versions.
O___o wow
how could ash of read the pages when he didnt even know what they said or how to of read them right...wth *sorry, nerd rage moment*

I'm glad they changed the opening because it set the film up to be too serious when it wasn't really going to be that serious

I remember watching this when I was younger, and being confused with all the alternate endings and stuff. maybe I'll rent it again some time

I bought AOD on ITunes and it is the original theater version, not Boomstick.

I'm guessing they cut this out cause they were making a comedy, not a super-serious film

I haven't seen this version in so long. It's different, that's for sure. More of an Evil Dead III, less than an Army of Darkness.

Why won't Sam take the time to give fans a proper "ultimate" edition that includes all cuts, deleted and alternate scenes?
