yeah the genesis version sounds like an atari song I had this game it cost me $60.00 bucks and then I played and I was not too impressed although the music is all right if you used some adaptors to the tv set like hughe speakers wich I did. I had problems finding the last guy on the band sorry aerosmith :(
The Genesis one was much worse in sound and gameplay.
I think Revolution X was only ported decently on PSone and Sega Saturn, but doesn't have all the Arcade elements in it.
Maybe it's just the hardware used in 16-bit systems back then, which couldn't nearly reproduce the feel of the Arcade. Remember TMNT was ported to NES? Didnt feel like the Arcade version, due to limited things consoles could do then.
I didn't think it was that bad really. They managed to get a lot of what was in the arcade game into the SNES port which is impressive considering the difference in ROM memory.
The did an OK job with the music. If they had been able to use a 32Mbit rom (like DKC used) They could have had much better and longer music loops. The slowdown is pretty bad in parts.
The worst part IMO is the censorship. The last boss doesn't even start out as Helga! Guess N didn't want you shooting at a girl! ...
the sega saturn version was far more better very close to the arcade, but the loop of the music is realy anoying.

The two-frame looped animations of Aerosmith playing was hilarious.

seanbaby was right. the SNES port of revolution x is like he said: "biblically horrific" and the sound doesn't help it either.
