  • This dojo was what everybody referred to as the Gontazaka Dojo. I never heard the name Matsuo in connection with it. I'm not disputing anything, I just don't know. The mats stacked to the left and below the clock came from the Matsuo Dojo that closed in Yokohama. We didn't stay there long. It was inconvenient to get to and if you weren't quick changing clothes, you could miss the last bus after practice.

  • I trained at the Gontazaka dojo ages ago. I was training in Araki-ryu under Hidaritomo sensei & Kurihara sensei. I was looking at the dojo and thought it looked like the Shinkenkai Matsuo dojo.
