  • what a power of this great pianist!

    his touch is very unique..........

    bravo

  • This is my favorite Polonaise !!

  • What a great, great recording! 1960 Scriabin Museum, I suppose?

  • There are at least 2 (may be 3) recordings of this polonaise mentioned in Sofronitsky's discography. This was marked as 1959 but I don't know where it's from.

  • To me it sounds like the one from Igor Nikonovich's private collection (dated 1960 there, although that may be publication instead of recording date) - perhaps my favourite of the piece. Or are you going to shock us all and come up with an even better version than this?! :-)

Just kidding, of course - we should all be so grateful for all your postings!

  • Je reste sans voix .

Quel artiste! je veux dire:quelle confondante intelligence alliée à la plus sûre intuition...

Tous les plans sonores prennent sens sous les doigts de ce pianiste.

  • This is magnificent. Richter was right. Sofronitsky is a god.

  • he really was. i heard this also from a teacher of mine from moscow that was colleagues with richter , etc. he said that sofronitsky was like a legend among the "russian school" of players.
