@Opatzii Yes. They stack but they stack in reducing levels. So 5 ships is not 5 times more trade. it's slightly less.
So you want to spread out your ships to take as many trade nodes as possible, especially early on. Then you can add trade ships later.
Note that on some versions there is a bug, so bring additional trade ships closetothe node, then take the ship off the node and merge, then put the merged unit back on the trade node.
Excellent upload quality, fine pacing on the speech, informative, but not at all overbearing amount of game play hints. Well done all around, AudesteFidelis.
For a casual gamer such as myself, I found your presentation of the materials to be above satisfactory.
Great videos. Ive just started playing but i find it helps to take out the Pirate nation ASAP . they only have two isalands in the Carribean but if you leave them they will constantly loot and attack your trade ships because they have no morals and attack anything and everyone. best to take em oout then just concentrate on official enimies when you choose.
Why does Denmark have land in South france / Northern Italy (couldn't really tell where it was) Aren't they only a minor state? I didn't think they expanded
Terrible guide... there is no such dillema as focusing on your economy or your military. If you start by building military buildings and troops you will soon be bankrupt, even if you win all the battles you fight. Furthermore, nations who show aggression and expand fast will soon be ganged up on by all neighbours. And that is not fun.
Im currently playing as prussia and i do both military and economic powers. from the get go i sent an army to the pirates took them out and i monopolized all the trade nodes. however i am at war with sweeden poland and russia and all are attacking and its a constant back and forth with a couple regiiouns. (playing very hard atm)
if you leave rebels alone for to long will they become thier own nation? also i destroyed sweden in 1721 and russia went to war with me at 1773 and toke sweden away from me 2turns later sweden came back as a nation. why?
The Swedes were so angry at being occupied by a foreign power, they rebelled. When they had defeated the Russian invaders and taken back Stockholm, they declared their independency.
thatle be because when the russians took over , the happyness of the popultaion in that region wil have dropped and they will have been a rebellion. and the rebels will have taken the region capitol. when there capitol or any other majour city is re taken by the rebels a new nation is formed
good vid. just a question, can you capture "unexplored" regions, for example, labrador? these regions are in the americas map, where troops can walk through it, but there seemed no region capital or any factions conroling it. or do we need to explore it untill we find a settlement/region capital?
Hello.. im stuck at the france campaign. i have taken over all america but i cant get any further.. somehow i cant enter other countryes and i cannot negotiate either? wtf?..
At around 1:40 in this vid or so, you pull up the research panel. Seems like you are researching more than one item. Is this correct and if so, how do you do that? I started playing as the Spanish and it only lets me research one item at a time.
@AudesteFidelis Generally best to have schools in a region's major capital, so that you have enough repression to suppress clamour for reform without req. a garrison.
i wanted to say that you can choose to do a rev (it's not something i came up with, iv'e jsut been told about it, so i'm not sure it's the best way, but it works)
what you need to do is:
exempt all your regions but your capital from taxes.
you can choose what to rule: for monarchy, maximize the higer class taxes, and minimize to the buttom the lower class taxes. if you want a democracy just do the opposite with the taxes
if the higher class (or lower class for democracy( are still happy in capital, destroy buildings that make them happy.
after a few turns youll get a messege that they are unhappy, the next turn of a few more turns afterwards the rev messege will pop up. choose the rebels side, and conquer the capital (youll get an army)
i suggest moving you army out of the capital before that, so it will be easy to win.
BTW, i play with Prussia and i turned it into a democracy (Germany, still called Prussia) :P
leave your nation's capital unguarded, jack up taxes of a class of your choice(& remember to remove walls) & you can incite a revolution to change your govt. form
Just a question, what's the maximum number of battalions (1 battalion is 1 group with 1 flag) that I can command in a single battle? Just want to know the largest, most epic possible battle that I can have when I get this thing.
as many battalions as you want, upto 5000 units for each side. You can also have more than 2 armies fighting the same battle but with no more than 5000 units total for each alliance.
YES dont want to be at war with to many countries in medieval total wari had like 30 something regions and i was fighting the pope and the following countries declared war on me because of it.:Scily.Venice,Milan,Holy Roman Empire,Portugal French,Norweigen, and the Pope and i was massacered it sucked i gave up after losing like 15 territories.
well you have a better army than most of the factions that declared war on you.
the only ones that could kick your ass were Holy Roman Empire and the Pope. And you are right about not getting in war with too many factions. When I played with Portugal, I got in war with the french, Venice, Milan, Sicily and Egipt because I was in a rush and began expanding via sea. I got my ass kicked by Egipt and France but won agaisnt the others. :) It payed for the 4 territorys I lost.
Hey man I think your vids are awesome and I really like the tactics because I am a very tactical guy too. Would it be too hard to make a video series actually walking us through the campaign? If its too hard then thats cool. I just want to watch all I can since I can't buy the game due to the fact that I own a Macbook only. :( Again awesome vids
Don't forget the trade areas: South America, Ivory Coast, Street of Madagascar and East Indies. When you quickly put trade ships on those trade areas (circle with an anchor in it), you will get additional trade routes and loads of extra trade income, since the stuff you get from those, will be trades with the other countries you got trade alliances with as well, thus lots of extra income.
if u have more than one trade ships on one like west Africa ivory do u get more ivory?

great vid, can you do tactics for civ 4?
wilt582 2 years ago
Make sure you only have military units on your front line, or where there is a chance of rebellion.
Move these units to the front line, or disband them, it will save you money and they are useless =).
Do the same for fleets.

Is it still the same as M2:TW where your units dont cost Upkeep if they are Garrisonned ?

@AudesteFidelis Yes you can, raise the taxes to
maximum then it takes 3 turns then a rebelarmy
appears, side with the rebels and and declare a
republic, people will get more happy and your research
increases, the downside is that every monarchy hates you.
