I design my boards in my CAD system and have them cut to my specifications. All I have to do is the final sanding and shaping of the rails. I sell the boards for $65.oo a blank. these come with the rocker in the front and back already in place.
I'm totally down to do this. Moneys tight right now so I want to make sure I'm making the right investment, you know? this looks very legitimate though. You mentioned that if need be, you could separate the foam skeleton and implant stringers for added support. Do you have an instruction manual/video that would encompass that process? I'm 180lbs normally so I want to buy/make a good first board that can support me enough to drift out to shore. On the Massachusetts coast we don't got much to ride
It's that easy..... with some time and preperation you will be making your own skimboards right away. You need to get the foam right. No less that 2# styrene. 3# will work better and is easier to sand. typical 1# styrene is too soft. it will work but you will have issues with sanding it and it beading apart.
FYI - I can sell you a starter kit. I also sell a hand written manual with instructions for $25.oo
and youre telling me i can just do this and make my own skimboard and i'll be able to ride any wave i want with this?...sounds way too good to be true. about to do this myself
i tried to glass a blank which is an styro foam then go to a store sells resins then i ask a resin that is good for surf then they give me a polyester resin the suddenly when i applied the resin on my board it melts any suggestions? thanx nice video!
I design my boards on a computer CAD system with the rockers in place. I send that electronic file to my supplier and the boards are cut on an automated machine. When I receive the boards they are cut to my spec with the rockers in place. All i have to do is finish rounding the rails and start glassing.
Check out my side under the Boards Link. I offer the blanks for sale.
i never added up the cost. I just started buying supplies when i started and now I have a bunch to work from. you should be able to get the supplies you need for under 30 bucks. that does not include the fiberglass, the resin or the blank. just the other stuff you need.

styrene ( the white beaded stuff) should always be paired with Epoxy Resin.
Polyester foam (surfboard foam) should always be paired with polyester resin.
Go out and buy some epoxy resin, and it should work great.
