A great video to inform a perhaps younger audience out there who've never tried filter pour over coffee. My Mellita was my first "real" coffee maker more than 30 years ago, and though I now have an automatic brewer, and a French press, I still prefer my morning pour over. Thanks!
Commercial brewers are factory set at 195-205F, anywhere in that range is generally fine. Brewing into a thermal flask is a great idea! It means you can brew enough for 3 or 4 mugs which will help draw out the extraction time. Aim for a total brew time of 4 minutes. Most importantly seek out a local coffee roaster and use freshly roasted coffee :-)

I thought 205 degrees was too hot a temperature to brew coffee. Doesn't a higher temperature mean more bitterness in the coffee?

This was such good timing! I just bought a filter/funnel thingy from Mellita. It is great & coffee really does taste better. Uses #2 filters.
