Love it or hate it. Its done with and they are in second place, and from the history Of OUCH it shows They are well enough for firstplace. Goodjob mac, come hard again this year and take that first place. Marauuudersss Yeyyaww
@sierraholtz I'd also like to note that in their message they said: "bring 3 copies of music on CDs - remember mixes can be up to 4:00 with a penalty of 10 points taken off your average score if you go over and music will be shut off at 4:05" Their music ran from 0:27 - 5:01 at the least. That's clearly more than 4:05. I would like to have this addressed as this is once again an example of a lack of clarity and fairness from those organizing the event.
@laidutsun hey hate to break it to you but the mix was actually 4:04. You can get a copy and check it yourself since I made it! Thanks for the concern though, but we worked hard to cut over 1.5 min of music to make sure we followed the rules.
@requiems12 thanks for clearing that up. That means they definitely should have 10 points taken off their average, according to the "rules". And don't think that Mac was the only school working "hard" to keep their track within 4 minutes.. except other schools actually did.. hate to break it to you.
@laidutsun Not sure if you actually saw a copy of the rules...but it actually says that there is a 5 sec grace period where if your music goes over 4:05 then your music is shut off and you get 10 points taken off. I know all the schools worked really hard which is why you should respect the routines and move on, especially since the times for the music are checked during tech! Many schools have mixes at 4:02, 4:05 etc so unless you actually read the rules please relax and enjoy the videos.
wowowowowoow That was amazing and fantastic. I'm a Waterloo alum and Ouch 2006 champion and so I have been conditioned to have a rivalry with MAC HipHop, but I love what you guys do so much, every year you just kill it and raise the bar!
I'm just wondering if Mac was deducted 10 points from their total score? There was a message sent out to all the schools from Mac that if a dance went over 4 minutes, that they were to be deducted 10 points. Because of this a couple of schools had to cut down their music, to ensure no penalty.
This routine was an "education" for every other school. Congratulations to McMaster. Technically it was far superior. Just watch this routine compared to all of the others, 'nuff said. I loved it! Very entertaining ... way to represent! Cheers, Dr. Nicky B
I dont think Mac should have won last year but this piece great job. the variety of styles that were presented and performed very well was enough for me to say you should have taken it over the 1st place winners. You had something for everyone in this piece and even though you used crowd pleasing tracks the choreo to said tracks was on point! Yall know you won just opening your dance vocabulary like you did. Great Job!
:o amazing
