  • A note to all those who leave criticising comments. Do you really think people who post music on this website really give a fuck what about the niggly little details that that they get wrong. Just as long as it sounds good, which this did, it's not anybody elses place to call him up on the mistakes he may may have made. If he wants piano lessons he can go out and buy them he doesnt have to listen to the drivel strangers post on this site.

    Good work man

  • A nice interpretation of the piece. A few things to remember:

A poco meno Mosso - Dont rush this or play this too loudly. add expression and make it dynamic. This will give the piece character.

Pedal - Keep it disciplined. Dont leave notes hanging.

Stacatto - Keep it less sharp, and think about expression

The end - make it more fun, the last notes are very different to the rest. one expects a loud finish, but its actually a soft finish.

Apart from this, very well done! Good work :)

  • so Forte

  • Wow!!!! That was quite an exiting performance!!!!!!!!

  • THere are written some Forte and Pianno, i think.

  • very impresive!

  • swich h with d and we have "budhaporn" lol sorry pal,,no offence but i am sure everyone saw it and nobody mentioned it,,please dont be mad,,

  • I'm working on this piece, too, and it took me half an year to at least get the basics...

The hardest part is keeping the volume down when it should be, since I tend to "fight with" the keys when ff.

  • yes, it is a very hard piece, but that is not a very good excuse to play it emotionlessly and with no phrasing and poor texture and touch. maybe you should try to slow it down a little and work on dynamics and touch. nevertheless, very well played

  • wow

  • @kartofobelachka

    I'm ashamed and I hate to say that, but that's exactly what I think of it;

although, that I was really struck by his tempo, it doesn't substitute the sensibility and one heart's blood for works like this. He sets a damn brisk pace, but he drowns the music. It seems so agonal to me. Nevertheless, good Fingertips . .

I trust you will forgive my poor english.

  • I`m not sure but I think you`ve made a few mistakes. But that`s not the problem-guy, i think you`re playing the whole piece without any feelings.......just mechanically or to put it another wat-I think you`re playing it just to lead it to the end....

  • I think that you play very well.

  • Good job, next time learn the word "phrasing"

  • Not good at all. Mediocre at best. My neighbor's kid plays this way better.

  • Very good! Thank you. Ignore all the judgemental bigots.

  • er schludert zu sehr... lieber etwas langsamer, aber dafür sauber

  • OMG ! Stop playing with your hands and start playing with your heart.

Music is an art, not a sport...

  • rachmaninov would hang himself if he lived and heard it!

    It's too monotonous.

    Apologise for my bad english.

  • Rachmaninov would hang himself, if he lived and heard it.

    It's too monotonous.

  • good work!!!

  • i hope you can just play more pop music, only pop music...

they don't really require you to have feelings or emotions, you don't even need any dynamics or tempo change for them.

but for romantic pieces....... you can't play that way, u r ruining the music

  • so the un poco meno mosso and the pianissimo mean nothing in the middle section...noooo feelinggg :/, keep everything in the sameee, don't go fast, if you can't maintain it..have a more rit. feeling at the end of the middle section so you have more room for the accelerando, IT'S NOT ALL FORTE

  • to all those who say that he has no feeling, notice how he is reading this off the sheet music, i mean i'm all up for improving feeling, but jesus give the kid a break let him get a feel for the music AFTER HE MEMORIZES IT!!! (personally i find it easier to add feeling after memorizing a piece, but maybe that's just me) :)

  • @MisterSrosis i dont think so... i think he already has this piece memorized because the piece is not only 3 pages long... and if u take a look at all of his piano videos they all dont have any dynamic changes at all...

  • IMO, first I'd slow way down, at least until I got it all together. I hear numerous triplets that only come out as doubles. 2nd, I'd really soften up in the middle part especially with the right hand, you're pounding too much. You're trying to show power during what's supposed to be a subtle, flowing passage. I think you need to express more feeling rather than just hitting notes. Keep with it, practice, think "emotion"...and yeah, "piece", not "song"! :D

  • budha-porn?

  • budha-porn?

  • Ok, i am a recognized music critic, and i only can say that need more practicing, a lot, i will be ready in 758 days if you practice daily

  • piano need some tuning?

  • You are an amazing player technically but... you need to find the emotion in the work. I don't doubt that that will come in time. When it does, you will be fantastic!! (I'd give both my little toes to have your ability... :) )

  • Hello, you need to slow this down and practice it in tempo. When you can play it flawlessly in tempo slowly, move to slowly with dynamics and build your way up to performance tempo and play with a little musicality. Right now, it is very choppy and its all forte, it is a very delicate prelude. You can easily tell which passages you have the most difficulty with because you are still trying to find where your hands need to go next.

  • Also in the 2rs part of the middle section, u totally missed the accents and didnt bring out the other voicing, so it just sounds the same as the first part, which is far away from what rachmaninoff wanted to make this piece sound like. If u just like to show off skill to those who don't know about piano, u can play however badly u want as long as they don't notice; but if u want to be a pianist afterwards, I really suggest that u get a piano teacher.

  • Seriously, this would be the worst interpretation I've heard...... I don't mind how fast u can make it. At least in all the other videos people can make those notes clear and play with some tempo and volumn change. If this is the first time I've heard this song I'd have no idea what the point of this piece is based on yr playing... Plz, play with some musicality, don't just make it randomly fast and dont think this could let people think that u r a genius on piano......

  • @sergeiRACHable oh get off your high horse, noone likes a musical snob.

  • @LoftyProduction he plays this piece with little feeling and musicality, and he also needs to work on his tempo. is it wrong when u tell someone what drawback he has and how to improve his skill?? i said that because i know this piece very well after having been a concert pianist for years if u don't know classic music or my well-meaning purpose u don't need to reply to me saying i'm a musical snob

  • @sergeiRACHable if you are a "concert pianist" which I find very difficult to believe, you'll know just how difficult this piece is to play. Anyone who even attempts this should get high praise.

  • @LoftyProduction i know this is a very difficult piece to play, and i played this piece when i was 17! but the point is that he tries to do is make this piece sound fast but didn't make any dynamic change into it! he just read the notes on the book but not the expression marks. it's not an etude, it's more like a real song; he should just make it more like music. btw, i am a concert pianist, that's why i care more about musicality than technique, because musicality is way more important!!

  • @sergeiRACHable Upload your version of the G minor Prelude mr "concert pianist" then you may critize other people.

  • @LoftyProduction i'm pointing out his problems on playing this piece, what's wrong with that?? i'm not building myself up by tearing the other people down; if u know this piece better than i do, u should know he's just showing off his skill but not really understanding the musicality in this piece. i'm not trying to convince u that i'm a concert pianist, but i'm just trying to say what he should improve. because this is music, not just banging on the piano keys!!!

  • @sergeiRACHable I disagree, of course he's playing music what else do you think he's playing, chess? Anyway, I'm done wasting my time with you. Keep up the good work Buhdaporn, and don't let these idiots get you down.

  • @LoftyProduction i think sergeiRACHable is right, those are exactly what problems this boy has on this prelude... and i think he's not really getting that boy down, because if he wants to he can simply say that this boy plays badly, but doesn't need to tell what problem that boy has to improve... i don't think he's really a music snob and trying to be mean...

  • @youyousenchan I agree. Maybe RACHable could soften his approach to his critique a little but he's not wrong about what he's talking about.

  • @LoftyProduction what a flame war here... i'd respect sergeiRACHable, but u?a person major in piano would know that this kid has big problems on this piece, which are exactly what sergeiRACHable pointed out here. what about u? r u trying to show how lenient u r or how mean sergeiRACHable is? u r not helping him, sergeiRACHable is!! if this kid is preparing to be a concert pianist, would u rather tell him how to play well, or just tell him "u r good, don't worry" while he still needs to improve?

  • @LoftyProduction yes, this is a hard piece, obviously, but the hard point is not how u knock on the right keys on the piano, what really makes this piece hard is how u make this piece sound clear and good! i believe the majority of piano players can play this piece if clarity and dynamics are of no concern. i'm not criticizing him, but what i'm saying is he should know what he needs to work on; if all he receives from the other people is saying how good he is, he will never ever get improved!

  • @LoftyProduction if u think i'm not qualified to point out his problems because u think i can't even play this piece, i'll upload my version of thie prelude after a couple of weeks. again, i'm not trying to get him down!!

  • @sergeiRACHable very well said! this piece, which should sound like a russian march, now sounds like nothing when played by this kid. now not many people realize that just being able to play is nothing compared to playing with musicality, especially asian people. i'm asian too and have lived in asian, so i know about it. in the asian music schools, teacher often only teaches how to play but barely teaches how to play well. that's why many asians, including this kid, play just like a machine!

  • Great! I like it

  • Did you practice this slowly at first? It looks rushed as if you wanted to get it up to this tempo as soon as possible. Other than that it's amazing that you can play this! :)

  • Oh, those are not triplets sorry, i think I should call them the three repeated notes... And if u make it sound clearer, stress out the accents in the middle part, and make good dynamics and tempos, U will be perfect.

  • Comment removed

  • Omg... Don't rush and keep the tempo even! And

Make sure that those triplets are clear.

  • not good

  • Nice,

How long did it take you to learn that piece as you are playing it there?

And when did you start playing the piano?

    Thanks!

  • Please change the word to "piece." A song is for voice. But anyway, is this self taught???? If it is you're pretty good! 5*****

  • splendid!!! you play it very well !!

  • calling it a song is alright. The proper term is a "piece" but whataver...nice job. This and prelude in C# minor are my two favorite rach PIECES and probably my favorite of all time. I suggest you watch Emil Gilels play this if you haven't. He in my opinion does it the best. Great job, this piece is probably a B**** to learn...I hope to learn it soon :)

  • I DO like this, you play it well, I'm just not so keen on the tempo, too fast for my personal taste but that's just me.

  • please put some emotion into what you're doing. it's more than just the sound.

  • This is not a "song", the only thing I don't like about this guy is the choice of wrong word. :D

  • Ummm, then sorry for word choice, I think u will forgive that O_O

  • @mrkwonsony lol if its not a "Song" then wth is it :p a composition? Stop being an ass.

@ Buhdaporn Great job. I couldn't play even the easiest part of this song.

  • @kenshin9022 wow, a moron kid comes to me and just calls me an ass, so glad that your mother was les and your papa had a cunt that I fucked with. It's called a "piece" for "classical piano composition". WTF makes you think you're Fing superior than others by just calling off an ass ? Fing cockrider.

  • @mrkwonsony >.> i have to admin i knew you would respond that way. But i suppose thats why i said what i said.

  • @kenshin9022 admin -> admit moron. The way I respond and the way I wrote are completely different. There's no connection between them, ergo, you just had a wrong brain with a retarded family members. pathetic. As I said, classical composers call these 'piece' not a 'song'. Know fucking correctly before you prove your stupidity everywhere. Aren't you shameful of your brainless comments ? ahaha. oh, snap. It's impossible to acknowledge the shame because the brain doesn't work. :D Punch me Fag.

  • @mrkwonsony

how is it not a song? or right, its an awesome song!

  • @cogexman Songs have words. This would be considered a "piece"

  • @mrkwonsony , i think the same, people usually don't use the correct words at classical music!, like ¨COOL!¨

  • I really enjoyed your performance. I'm learning a very simple (in comparison to your interpretation :-) version on guitar. Listening to you play is inspiring, thank you so much. best wishes, Mary

  • the lyrical section could use some work... the beginning should be much more mysterious. all i hear really is just banging of notes, there aren't as much dynamics as your other pieces.

  • Amazing. I love Rachmaninoff! You play with great determination. You also barely look up to the sheets... this tells me you practice many, many, many hours, days and weeks.

The reward is putting out such a spectacular piece.

    Lovely.

  • Great

  • hey, really good job!!!

  • I'm not even joking, I think you somehow played it better than lang lang in the BBC prom. Good job. :D Hehe you should go for liszt paganini or transcendental study. :D I'm sure you can do it.

  • very difficult piece !! but you managed it!

  • You're doing well my friend. Needs a little bit more work. The mood is pretty good but keep the tempo steady at the beginning. My wife plays this piece, not I though alas.

If you've not got a teacher and can afford one, I strongly advise you to get one as you are you and though not likely to be a concert pianist, show great potential as an amateur.

    Mike

  • omg its not the point to play fast.. its to point to play with feelings! also in your other vids, you should work harder on your dynamics and putting emotions in the piano.

  • i totally agree with you!!!

  • You've put a lot of effort on this one. You've got the notes right, but I have some things I have to say to help you improve, well, I think so.

In the first part, your tempo is not steady and the part where you hit the G & B three times, well, I can't hear all the notes (sounds like you pressed it 2 times rather than 3). To put it simply, it lacks the accuracy. In the second part of the music (the B part? I don't know what it's called) you hit the notes too firm while it needs to be gentler.

  • Try La Campanella by Franz Liszt. Check Yundi Li videos for one of the best interpretations.

  • your smile scares little kids

  • very very good! I'll offer some advice here: Try to learn the technique of moving your hands up and down while the wrist remains still, this will give you a faster response for those difficult 16th note motifs. The middle section interpretation ...To feel the passion of the phrases, try to sing it while walking in nature, the melody is filled with pain and longing. Give careful attention to breathing and phrases. Allow spaces between phrases, let it breathe. Overall, very good!

  • I am incredibly impressed that you can already play the notes of this piece fully, you must practice a lot! But i must stress that you work on your rendition, it is true that the camera may distort the dynamic but overall i think you can improve. Congratulations on bring able to play the world's greatest piano piece!

  • God, youre all complayning about dynamics and don't even remember this was recorded by a camera. Cameras distort the sound a lot, its impossible to get much sound details.

Good work man! Remember: allways improving is the key. :)

  • amazing for four years of piano, but they dynamics should really be watched, the middle section should be played slower and a lot softer its ppp that's the softest possible, and you play it f or mf, remember the accents on the left hand!, later its a crescendo, a slow and steady climb, don't take this offensively, it's just some criticism to make you into a better pianist

  • fantastic !!! i really like it, if you practice more you'll reach a more amazing performance !!

  • Any idea how many hours it took you to learn it at this tempo?

  • Wow! I was going to request that you play this song..and here it is! I'm learning this currently and I highly doubt I have your patience (or bravery to try it at this tempo!). I can't wait to see you a few years from now if you're already this good. :) Bravo!

  • great job! i hope to learn this after finishing fantasie impromptu

    keep up the good work!

    check out my channel :)

  • You are incredibly good!

Keep in mind to move your whole arm over instead on just using your wrists and don't be so stiff!

Try to move your wrists up and down more along with your whole arms to place emphasis on certain parts. ^-^

    AWESOME JOB!

  • fucking awesome !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wow bravo

  • nice man you really rock!! i really want to play that song but im fucking busy with my university...i hope i have time to at least practice the songs i know

  • I love this piece-Great job

  • Really good job. i love this song, the way you give it your all shows your dedication to the craft

  • That looks very difficult to play and you really mastered it. Excellent job, you are a very talented young guy.

  • Great Performance, Bravo.

  • Awesome....great job.

    5 star!

  • Great!!!!! 5*

  • awesome. i can't play this well.i get sort of lazy when the notes are too much and too far apart.you are a very patient boy.lols

  • great job!!

  • Great!

  • Whaaaaat!!!? You've been playing for four yeaaars!!!? You must practice way more than i do. I feel so baaad!! D:

I've been playing since I was six!!!!!! And I reckon it'd take me ages to learn this!!! I'm working towards Grade 7....but....

    Omg, you're amaziiing!! xxx

  • I know! That's what I was thinking! I've.. known how to play the piano since I was 7 or so. The teacher, she didn't teach me to read music and I knew where a C was in treble and bass and figured it out from there. I knew where a C was on the piano. And then last year I set out to learn and voila. I have. But nothing like him! I've been working on a 'hard' 8 page piece for nearly a year and only on the 3rd page! Lol, he's amazing.

  • vollbärtiger bodenloser.

  • Nicht so mein Stil aber trotzdem gut gespielt!!! Bin eher für Heavy Metal /m\

  • Fantastic playing!! :)

  • Ich hab noch nie jemanden so geil spielen

    gesehen. :)

    ich liebe es. ♥

  • whoaa... awesome! please play Take Five :D

  • wow you are fantastic! : )

  • you are awesome =D!

  • You have tons of potential and the discipline to go very far with your music, don't lose your enthusiasm to learn or spirit of determination.

  • This piece is suppose to be like a march . It seems faster than running is like flying. But anyways good job. I can see you're young. You got some tallent.

  • awful. take practise more kid. you kill the song.

  • Congratulations Buhdaporn you are a talented guy and you played this prelude pretty well, considering your age. Remember that this is an hard piece also for the oldest veterans. Do not consider comments that are pointing to wrong notes or other things. You have the skills in order to become a very good classical pianist. keep playing and studying.

Just a tip on this piece: try to play it a little slower and more softly in the middle part. In this way you can work on details much deeper. bye:)

  • eh how come it looks like fast forwarded haha..

  • wow, just like the pros do it. i'm wondering, is your piano maybe a little out of tune?

  • Amazing!!! Just you need to keep your speed the same. Work on the parts your worse at to keep it the same speed with the ones that are good. But still your amazing!!! Amazing and one more time AMAZING!!!

  • wow.... your hands move so quickly! very nice!

speed is something i have a slight problem with personally, it takes me forever to play a piece fast enough!

  • good for you..you had your own piano..T_T

  • aargh piano needs to be tuned =( and watch your rythm!!

but you play the whole song though, thats good, i can only play till 1.40 :P i didnt bother learn more, in mean while i play more easier songs, so later it will be easier to learn this piece..

  • VERY good

  • im learnign this too!:) thank's for subscribing:)

    i love this peice!

  • Wow!!! So cool. I used to play. I stopped. But I may start up again, thanks to you ^_^ Keep it up! Your going to go far!! :)

  • Excellent!

    //dan

  • I would try playing a TINY bit slower because at some of the difficult parts you stumble a tiny bit....but it's not too much of a problem because they're only minimal.

The rest of the piece though....is REALLY well done!!! You're a very talented pianist :) Keep up the great work!!! :D

  • ah man i love this it's in g-minor right? you did a very good job well you practised alot for this

  • Simply Great!

  • Excellent.

Not many people can play this well after only 4 years.

  • effin sweet!
