As for wrestling, I've known bruthas who can grapple anyone down without having to land a single punch. @pragzter It's an old school technique that my uncles used to drill me with. Think of it as a speed bag training before speed bags. In a way, it's better than speed bags due to the fringe benefits to using it that speed bags don't provide.
By gripping the towel and shadowboxing with it, or even getting close to a bag, you condition your arms to be able to rechamber quicker as well as fire off faster. Also, by keeping your head up while using this will train you to easily keep your guard up.
These are only two dude's that I see doing 52 block and using it effectively is Born Justus and Sparks. Cause of their movement. From the video i saw they understand the mechanics of a punch. Those old timers look like they get it in lol.

Because there's no professional fighting that allows Krav, or most real martial arts for that matter. Sport fighting (which allows for very little martial skill) comes from the structured systems of fighting, but the structured systems come from our instinctual need to survive.

I met a guy 15 yrs ago who told me this amazing story about how his family created this art to protect his mother and her sister's during the slavery period in MS. It was designed for smaller people and very close quarter fighting. But It's very similar to what you see Floyd Jr doing...It was boxing, alot of shoulder rolling and what looked like WC.

In the Navy on board the ship, we didn't have a weight class..It didn't matter if you were 100 or 230 we all fought each other..And I mean it wasn't even close...No one onboard the ship could touch this guy. As for wrestling, I've known bruthas who can grapple anyone down without having to land a single punch. @pragzter It's an old school technique that my uncles used to drill me with. Think of it as a speed bag training before speed bags. In a way, it's better than speed bags due to the fringe benefits to using it that speed bags don't provide.
By gripping the towel and shadowboxing with it, or even getting close to a bag, you condition your arms to be able to rechamber quicker as well as fire off faster. Also, by keeping your head up while using this will train you to easily keep your guard up.

Because there's no professional fighting that allows Krav, or most real martial arts for that matter. Sport fighting (which allows for very little martial skill) comes from the structured systems of fighting, but the structured systems come from our instinctual need to survive.

I think 52 should be more recognized in hip hop, but not as violence, but a way of life in a more "deeper" level. I never trained in 52 or boxing (only in some bando, karate, judo, and read about bjj, wing chun, tae kwon do, krav maga, and ninjutsu), but is very interested in this. I thought of a "what if there was a more combat based self-defense/martial arts version of boxing" and somebody took my idea decades ago. Respect!

I was in the Army with a guy from Harlem in 1985, he was a fantastic fighter using Jailhouse, if you tried grapple you would eat a million elbows & knees or finger pokes to the eyes.

@1Blkkato eye pokes/gouges/biting/ are the most laid out excuses for people who get owned in grappling. do they work? will yeah they do. are they over rated? yes they are. these have already been tested MANY times! you should enter a BJJ/Judo Dojo. tell them you will beat thier best students/instructors with your eye gouge. they will own you. and if you bite them ESPECIALLY while being controled your just going to make them MORE aggressive. it can work though, but eye pokes are oeverrate
