I really like the HD500 floorboard stuff directly into the board/PA. But I'm not feeling this amp combo. For direct Line 6 is awesome, but if I needed an amp again . . . I'd go Fender combos or Marshall again. Heck, I used an AC30 combo into a Marshall cab and it sounded amazing.

@TangeClown to me it sounds muddy and very tamed. it doesnt have the edge and aggression you should expect from meshuggah. but the spider iv's riggs and slipknot setting are very good. they also have a Laid to Rest setting that i tweaked a tiny bit and it sounds perfect.

DOES ANYONE KNOW if this is good for Rammstein???

I have a line 6 spider 3 15 watt amp and it sounds terrible distorted no matter what setting i put it on, and it barely picks up pinch harmonics

@GreenDay3213 This should be fine for modern Rammstein tones. :) This is much better than the Spider III. I have the 15 watt combo version of this and it does Rammstein quite well. Although, I play a lot of Black Metal. But I will occasionally play Rammstein and the 15 watt does a great job so I'm guessing the 150 would be even better. :) Hope this helped. :)

@Harry13091983 Die Updates kannst du über das Pedal raufspielen. Ich hab mir das kleinere zugelegt (FBV Express USB). Da hast du einen USB-Anschluss, somit kannst du es an den PC hängen. Dann lädst du dir noch die software runter (Line6 monkey) und schon kannst du's draufspielen!

I have this HD150 head and the 4x12 cab. The line out on the head is also the headphone jack. When I try to run a line out to a PA or into my PC to record, my cab is bypassed. It basically reacts like a headphone jack. Any tips on using the line out and still being able to use my cabinet at the same time? Thanks.

@dsysm you have to use the right out if you use the left for the 4x12, then you're able to record or put your signal to the PA while listen to your sound via the 4x12 cabinet.

I believe the Spider IV 150 head has 2 x 75 watt stereo outputs. According to the Line 6 website, both outputs MUST be connected to 8 Ohm loads on the speaker cabinet. I don't understand when you that I can connect an 8 Ohm connection from my amp to a 16 Ohm connection on my speaker cabinet. Doesn't this mean I will be losing power? How does this work, Line 6 clearly state both amp connections must go to an 8 Ohm loaded connection on the cabinet?

Hi there!

You can combine any head with cabs you like, as long as both impedances are matching, for instance:

head: 4 Ohm to a cab: 4 Ohm, 8 Ohm, 16 Ohm

head: 8 Ohm to a cab: 8 Ohm, 16 Ohm

and finally 16 Ohm to 16 Ohm

You can control the Spider IV 150 HD with all Line6s FBV boards (FBV-2, FBV Express, FBV Shortboard)!

@MusikSchmidt The Spider IV HD 150 is stereo 8ohm, so you want to make sure the cab you get is stereo 8ohm also! (you can always go HIGHER on the cab ohms than the amp ohms, but not lower, it will burn the amp up!)

Can someone on here please help me. First of all this is the amp I want to buy. However the 4 x 12" speaker cab is too heavy for me. Yes I'm a wimp, I have a prolasped disc in my lower back. Can anyone please recommend a good 2 x 12" speaker that is compatible with this unit. I went to Wembley Guitar Centre recently and they were nothing of useless. @Pandemonizer Not true. It all depends on your wattage on the amp. The more the watts, the better sound at louder volumes. I own this amp and have used it live. Does not beat a tube head, but it sure holds it's own game.

der combo hat nen viel dickeren unn fetteren sound einfach geiler, das topteil macht nur sinn mit einer box unten drunter
