Were those sparks / flashes when you when skidding on your roof in the first shot? I've never seen those flashes like that any time I have flipped in iRacing. Is there a graphics option to turn them on?
I got all racing sims, and iRacing all though a bastard for robbing us. is the best you can get, anyone that say it aint. either doesnt race for real or likes arcade style racing. thats fair enough, you race what you enjoy the most. i enjoy lfs too, its nothin on this. but i still enjoy it. and that lad at 0:49 had to be the luckiest S.O.B alive!
@erasetoimprove Well i'll tell ya one thing. iracing is all about how the cars handle and react. its a racing sim, not a crashing sim. now yes the crash physics can get kinda funky from time to time but they have made a ton of progress from the past year when this video was made. Go read TDVRecon's comment on this page about damage and crashing. :-)
@smmikeman Never liked I racing.. Have to spend to much money on the game and it still isn't developed good. rFactor did a way better job all together and LFS beats I racing in physics any day
nr2003 was more realistic then this i think, even tho its made by the same guys. i dunno what happend but the physics seem to be a little off graphics are good tho ;)
everyone always says why did Dale earnhardt crash his car when it was on the apron. as u can see ur reaction was the same as dale srs crash. looks just like it, besides the flipping
@Zerinsakech dale sr never went on the apron, look at the video again he bumped the car below him, which forsced him to lose control, whatch the video and you'll see
in all actuality boys dales car was fine 3 wide till rusty wallace got behind him and took the air off the spoiler..when that happened dale started battling the car...came down on the 40..end of story

The Iracing staff has put more effort in making the cars DRIVE better than looking like they have actually have had a crash. im sure in time the damage models for the cars will be improved, but they arent really concerned that much with that. they wanted the Simulater to drive like the real thing, and the Legends Cars are perfect!! they drive just like Real ones!
as real as this game is...which i must say it's absolutely remarkable. why is there no realism in the damage done to the car when they crash just minor bends in the body, some of these crashes they should be losing wheels and hoods etc.
Damage is something that takes a lot of programming, and also requires a lot of "preconditions". You have to think where, when, how hard, the physics behind the impact. Overdoing it can create bugs, and could cause damage to be caused too EASILY, especially with the amount of warping that occasionally happens.
=/ Damage is the hardest thing to do in ANY racing game.
Yea man, they have some kind of plotting software that actually lays out the track with real data they get from their own scanners set up around the track. I've raced on this track in iRacing. It's got every bump and imperfection in it. It's really cool.

it is required to have a wheel AND pedals, it also has to have a USB plug to use it on the computer
