@06cornej Thanks Elliot, glad you like it! Yes it does sound different, I tend to use different instruments in different ways, I like to bring out the best of the sound. Lol, I sure wouldn't want to be the bassoonist either, it requires world class circular breathing. :)
very interesting work. sounds very different from your usualy stuff but is just as great! I actually cant put to words what it makes me think of... almost sinister playfulness? haha anyway, great work! can wait for the next 2 movements!
@TheGuyWhoJustShotYou Thanks Daniel! Yes it's a bit tricky to try to define this one, I actually haven't tried to myself. :P I think I will just do one more movement, but I haven't decided yet. Take care!
@gonrolgonrol Nope, I didn't do any cutting or editing in that way. The music is simply performed as written. The reason you find it abruptly cut at some places is because the instrument samples used in this doesn't have the natural reverb that the real instruments have. However, I find it amusing that you chose to emphasize such an unimportant detail, I was expecting a more intellectual comment from you.
You never fail to amaze me, Karl! This is such an evocative, beautiful piece. The bassoon obbligato is a great idea, it lends a certain suspense, which turns calm and gentle towards the end when it stops. Plus, you have an amazing polyphonic knowledge. Loved the little syncope at 6:11 too!
@unpodimusica1 Thank you, much appreciated input! You never fail to amaze me either, your piano compositions reflect a mature and potent musical mind.
BTW I forgot your first name, since it's not written anywhere on your page.
Well, I don't mean anything bad. It's just the almost constant (same almost all the time) accompaniment by one of the instruments that gives me that impression. But you're right, simple isn't a proper way to call it.
This is fantastic! I was curious what program do you use?

I'm becaming a big fan of yours. just one question, is there a bassoon?
garbanzo1997 4 months ago
@garbanzo1997 I'm glad!
Yep, the bassoon is the instrument that keeps playing 8th notes through most of the piece.
It is a wonderful instrument, one of my favourites infact.

@KarlNerman Great! I'm studing bassoon. Even tough I don't have to much time playing it, I love it! You're pretty clever.

Many beautiful musical ideas her, I for example like the part at 0.35-0.50.
Only thing is the transition at about 7.31 and further- some issues with the cutting? It sounded a bit abruptly cut?
