Yeah im from Mount Vernon New York but i live in Yonkers.....My apatrment buliding was next to this one just RIGHT NEXT TO MINE!.my friend is lucky to be alive! I know how it all started. My other friend was playing with her cat (they be abusing that poor cat) than they was playing with fire around the cat so they started playing with the fire on the cat so the cat started going crazy and it went on the cat and the cat went all over the house! She was sooo sorry! This was on Elliott Street
Everytime I watched this Video I cry.... Cuz basically this is the House where I grew up only for 8 years & I still remember everything from that building... When I moved I really got sad I didnt wanna move but luckily I moved across the street but then I had 2 move again some where diffeently... & I was their when it started burning & I really git sad,,, :(
@AMT4245 I was saying that as a statement it is determined by how many units respond and depending on where you are it has nothing to do with how many stations respond only the amount of personal requested/responded
How long did it take to 'get under control' and then to 'put out entirely' by under control. I know that's kind of subjective, but I'm interested to know how long this might take!
Great job - on the video and alerting those guys about the alley! A shame - all those people displaced and losing everything...esp if it is found to be set. Hope nobody was hurt or anything.
I lived down there for a good number of years, first on Lawrence, then Van Corlandt park ave, then Caryl ave... I went to Saunders when it was still on B'way... I'm surprised more building didnt go up... YFD did a great job, and you did a great job on the Vid !!!
I could see the smoke from this fire from the doctors office that I work at near the intersection of Sout Broadway and Prospect St. @Train538 the local westchester news is saying that the fire looks suspicous.

Gezz that really is a 5 alarm fire. Let's all hope that no one was hurt or at the very least seriously injured. I wonder how the fire started?
