Your skills as an angler is what determines the capabilities of any rod whether it be a 4' 9" telescopic tod, or a 9' 4" light action noodle rod.
The Pen fishing Rod Goliath was sorta expensive but it was all worth it in the end for loads of fun of catching a fish on this minature fishing rod. :)

The fish you're referring to are only 7 & 8 lbs. They are Pacu captured by a friend in Brazil. If that's hard to believe, just look up BIG Carp on Penfishingrods,com & you'll see the current World Record Carp caught in Norfolk, England. It's 17.5 lbs & all on video. It all depends on your skills with micro tackle
