'lilcicero77' is completly right. As the title says, this man is Shifu Yao Chengguang, he is chinese and he is demonstrating Yiquan, a chinese martial art. It is not Aikido.
Aikido in chinese is Heqidao. I don't know why 'spriteyiquan' had put this three characters in the title. Maybe heqidao is a term of some Yiquan tecnics. (I don't think so).
while aikido may be a responsive martial art you cannot possibly claim that no one grabs your wrist in training. it seems to be the major point of contact (i have trained in Aikido and aikijujutsu, and with Mr Yao). you are right, we don't know what level of aikido the man in the video had reached but then again the video makes no claim it is just a video of some training...
@philipw2005 hello Philip, you are quite right, i didn't read the writing at the beginning of the clip so part of my previous comment does not stand. I don't know why you think i called you a fool. what is the difference between "talk hands" and training please?
@ratmonk55 Hi ratmonk55, U ar an outstanding person. Chinese character is quite difficult to learn and understand !!
" Talk Hands" in H.K. in the past means " to challenge others with real fight" or " to take challenges fm others with real fight". Of course, it is not talking about ' Die or Alive' fighting. But, in most condition, bleeding or bone-breaking appears after the fight.
Perhaps, " Talk Hands" means " making friends" nowadays.
"Training" is simplest. We will not generate a strong punch on the opponent's nose who is training with us at least. Nose's blood everywhere is not " a good looking condition ". Do you agree ?
@philipw2005 thankyou for explaining the difference, i have always used training as a very general term which describes everything that is done to improve your skills. I know that when my yiquan teachers have said "push hands" they have meant the practices between individual training and free sparring, it is good to find these differences in language so we can avoid misunderstandings when we train with people from different areas. thankyou for you time Philip.
the japnese guy in blue trains aikido & wanted to try his skills on Mr. Yao, on technical level only, no bodily harm.

A real AikidoKa would not catch his opponent aggressively. He was using both hands to grap sometimes. I am wondering how long did he learn Aikido.
Just one day !
Aikido is a Martial Art which indicates not to attack first, and even avoid fighting.
If an AikidoKa want to attack someone at the beginning, he is actually the one to be attacked. This is quoted from Morihei Ueshiba O'Sensi.

Hi Ratmonk55
I would like to know do you understand the chinese characters at the very first beginning of introduction in this clip?
The content of the text indicates that this person is coming from Japan and this person is one of the top Aikidoka.
So....please don't tell lies to all Real Martial Artists in the world.
Besides, the text indicates that this Japanese want to " Talk Hands" with Mr Yao. That means this is not something like training as what you said.
