If anyone remembers throwing dice and fearing a lance of Warhammers and Archers while my Assassin waits to stop over heating... Miss the good old days
This is the good stuff, back when TV was all about fun and kids didnt have to worry about school and homework. Now everything has to be childish, educational, and filled to the brim with cheesey jokes and punchlines.
Clan Wolverine or "The Not Named" clan used orbital bombardments before they were Annihilated by Clan Wolf. Remnants of Wolverine escaped however and rumored to have headed to the Inner Sphere again long time ago during the first Succession War.
@SteveC935 I believe you are referring to the 'Minnesota Tribe' - the remnants of the Wolverines who did manage to slip out of Clan space and take refuge on uncharted worlds just outside of the IS borders.
@Gallowell Yeah, but I don't want to spoil any more of the storylines. The whole thing is filled with twists and turns that will shock ya. "Minnesota Tribe" is what the Kuritan investigators called them because of an insignia patch with a picture of Minesota and a number on it, on a previous Star League Military uniform.
@SteveC935 Unfortunately I haven't read any of the Blake reports. My access to most documents comes from the book series and tech printouts published back in the time when they were still considered 'cool'.
@Battletechfreak Too long and not enough room to list them all, but the entire BT series, save for the last 5 or so, plus the entire MW series to date.
Hmm... I love how in depth this series goes... but at the same time I am disapointed about a couple parts. The Falcons never once initiated an orbital bombardment of any planet. The only clan to ever us orbital bombardment during the initial invasion were the Smoke Jaguars and even then they lost considerable face with the other clans because it was "excesive and wasteful." Ok sorry I geeked out a bit but this series made me love reading, I want it in good hands.
It does seem to look like Nicoli forgets he is dealing with non-clanners. How could innerspheres know the duties of bondsmen or what a batchal isand such?
@chrisman02 Sorry, this is about as good as it was, when it first aired in the mid 90s.It's better this way anyway, it's kept simple - not like any of the crap being released today, like those gods-awful Transformer live action movies.
@Gallowell All things considered it's not a BAD little 90's cartoon. It's reasonably well animated considering some of the stuff that came out at the time. It's no Ulysesses or Galaxy Rangers but quite watchable.
@Gallowell Really? I quite liked it... even brought the 3 DVD set they threw out a while ago. Still if we all liked the same thing it'd be a boring place to live.
@chrisman02 Keep in mind that the cartoon series was made more for kids and didn't use as much canon from the book series, so discrepincies like that, while bad, should just be overlooked.
@hurricanebjp What the fuck are you talking about? Go and read up a bit on the history of ComStar, the Exodus and General Kerensky - then come back to me.
Your right and the makers of the game had gone long ways to canonize this series into the BT-Universe. But I love every bit of it, so I enjoy this upload really. Sound quality could have been better.
good old 90's cartoon, better than this anime crap we have these days, i avoid watch cartoon network these days as it's slowly degrading into anime network... i dion;t see whats so great about animes, by the time they are aired here in america, all the animeness of it is stripped away and scripts are badly dubbed and dumbed down... i am sad for the creators of the anime series that make it here to america...
well, in general i stay away from animes... i like the stuff i have grown up with and accept no substitutes for what us westerns have done with animation...
Hmm. no offence, but you sound sorta biased. Western animation is good, but suffering under teh teletubbification that is happening (those antena sporting bastards gotta die).
Anime is cool and, from time to time, does things western animation doesnt.
some of the older 90's western animation have been good, the batman series, superman, ironman..i know they weren't as intense as their japanese counterparts, nut it was more grittier, as was said earlier telitubbying is killing the genre.
unforantely that reason we don't get 'intense' series as oftemn is because of the limits childrens televisions exectutives want to put on what we see on television, and they so theres no censcorship these days...
Anybody remember a Cartoon called Centurions? that was a badass show in it's day. Now people think kids'll be traumatized if they see cyborgs these days. Damn you FCC!
It's a cartoon representation of the BattleTech novels "Blood of Kerensky Trilogy." There were a great many errors between them both, but I believe the cartoon focus only on one Clan, since it was created for children 9as young as 10. You don't want to confuse the kiddies, do you?
it's not that they didn't want to cinfuise the kids, probally the script writers did want to bother with getting everything right, and saw the series as a way to increase the toy sales, i bet, but not for sure...
The clans attacked because they were following the dream of alexander kerensky. They were attempting to secure terra (earth) and reunite the starleague under a single banner.
not bored.. they wanted to unite the IS under one banner that why Kerensky left and spent all that time training the clans.. to eventually invade the IS and instill the traditions of the old Star League.
they did want to come back and reunite it, but knew it would be a long time before they could. the first 50 years they had (before the clans were formed) kerensky's band almost killed themselves through massacres and mini-wars several times. your also forgetting that alot of the clans wanted to just protect the IS not Invade it. ya know, Wardens and Crusaders
Remember that back then, animation was not that complex, and in any case, the Clans seldom used guerilla taactics anyway, and the Inner Shpere forces seem to not know that, either. It was the 80s, not 2006, when this series was made.
Don't compare one technology cartoon to others, this was different other cartoons in the 80's and early 90's were great. Better than was we have today. Actions cartoons back then animation was quality at it's BEST!!!
Awesome been searching for this cartoon since I first watched it and bought the toys back in the 90's and been a BT player since 1st edition :) the clan invasion breathed new life into the BT universe imo
