A barrel floating in the ocean will grow a seaweed farm. It would be easy to create rainforest sized algae farms mid ocean. The seaweed farms would photosynthesize, as well as the lifeforms themselves would be made of carbon.
Cheap. Proactive. Harmless.
Also mid ocean seaweed (algae) farms could be towed to countries in need for emergency food, fuel.
No downside.
Build seaweed farms from shore and tow them out to sea and anchor them. Polluting companies could sponsor the low costs.

Carbon dioxide. Trees give out oxygen and soak up the carbon dioxide. Governments order to chop down trees to make way for houses, roads and airports etc. Then charge us the public for their mistakes. The first ice age was done by a comet. The 2nd ice age will be done by a comet. Man plays a little part but if the earth felt threatened then i suppose the earth would deal with us direct anyway after all it is a living planet lol.

It si developers who chop down trees and it is politicians (not governments) give them licenses to do it. Wore betide a politicain who is labelled anti growth (= anti developer) around here.
I play golf with many local developers - it is clear they have the county council by the short and curlies! They say "yes" or they are out at the next election. The guys boast about it.

I do not agree at all with a carbon tax. I do believe global warming has an agenda that does not do anything positive for the environment.
I do believe we need to make a transition over to the newer energy technologies, such as Solar, Wind, Tidal, Geothermal, and others.
We need to force the large companies that control what energies we use to switch over to Newer Technology that is available today and invest in tomorrows energy sources.
